Welcome everyone to the final week of 2021. We made it through, and I want to give everyone a very special congratulations. This week, we’re dealing with the effects of the Saturn Uranus square, and this will be one of the last times that Saturn comes into contact for a while. Enough destabilization. That will be a theme of 2022, but we’ve gone through the most intense part of it so far. Additionally, this week does set the tone for 2022, since the New Year stars on Saturday (can you believe it), and we get a New Moon on Sunday. In many ways, we’re wrapping up 2021 and setting new intentions for not only the month ahead, but the year ahead. This week we also get Jupiter’s ingress back into Pisces on Tuesday. We actually already had a preview of Jupiter entering Pisces back from May 13th to July 28th, so think back to this time period to get a sense of what you can expect going forward into 2022. Additionally, Mercury also makes it’s apperenace on Sunday, becoming visible in the Western Sky during just after sunset, so be sure to do some stargazing during this time period.
Monday Dec 27th
(5:07 AM ET) Moon in Libra sextile Mars at 9º51’ Sagittarius
(7:55 AM ET) Moon in Libra trine Saturn at 11º25’ Aquarius
Monday is relatively a chill day, the Moon is making good aspects to the malefics, which is better than making hard aspects to the malefics, but still in this situation of malevolence, the Moon in Libra is looking to bring some balance to any tensions we need to resolve in our own lives. Extremity is a sign that something is out of balance, and that there is a potential danger. That is why the malefics are malefic, they bring things to one side of a spectrum of extremity, Mars with the extreme of heat and Saturn with the extreme of cold.
Tuesday Dec 28th
(3:56 AM ET) Moon in Libra square Mercury at 22º50’ Capricorn
(7:19 AM ET) Moon in Libra square Venus Retrograde at 24º47’ Capricorn
(9:06 AM ET) Moon in Libra square Pluto at 25º49’ Capricorn
(4:10 PM ET) Moon in Libra trine Jupiter at 29º56’ Aquarius
(4:16 PM ET) INGRESS: Moon enters Scorpio
(11:09 PM ET) INGRESS: Jupiter enters Pisces
Tuesday is one of the bigger days of the week, the Moon, still moving through Libra, makes aspects to Venus and Mercury who are gearing up towards their conjunction, as Mercury gets ready to enter it’s shadow on Wednesday, where it will start moving over the degrees of the zodiac where it will eventually retrograde back over. The idea of value and worth come to mind when we talk about Libra and Capricorn, and the standard of what is worthy. It may be a period where you’re finding value in something that you previously didn’t see value in. A friend of mine, Liam Sofias (who I’m preparing a special year ahead forecast with) describes this as the Spica configuration, which is the shaft of wheat that the woman holds in the constellation of Virgo, symbolizing something being ripe or ready to harvest. We can now utilize the fruits of our labor as we move into Tuesday. The Moon makes a beautiful trine to Jupiter just before both of them head into different signs, providing us with this opportunity of support.
I will preface that from December to March, Jupiter in Pisces is going to feel less jolly than it did earlier this year from May-July. Jupiter was in its Hot & Wet Synodic phase, allowing Jupiter to open up and expand with ease. This time around, Jupiter is in its Cold & Wet Synodic Phase, meaning Jupiter is challenged. Heat naturally expands and Wetness binds things together, and Jupiter is naturally Hot and Wet so May-July 2021 was great for Jupiter, which we saw coincide with mask mandates being lifted. However, Coldness is restriction and this creates conflict with Jupiter’s nature of heat. We’re going to see this contention play out where Jupiter is at home and wants to expand freedom, but because of where it is in its Synodic Phase (relationship to the Sun) it won’t be able to expand because of restrictions and contraction inward. We won’t see the same expansiveness Jupiter in Pisces brought again until March when Jupiter becomes reborn by the Sun through a Cazimi, a special conjunction with the Sun. I have a feeling that Jupiter’s wetness will be in the form of tears and releasing any built up emotions that haven’t had a chance to be processed. Especially because the Moon will be in Scorpio, this definitely shows us that there is a lot of pain to process here, specifically about the truth, or perception, and what we place faith in, since the Moon is ruled by Mars in Sagittarius who is ruled by Jupiter in Pisces.
Wednesday Dec 29th
(5:27 AM ET) Mercury conjoins Venus Retrograde at 24º26’ Capricorn
(5:42 AM ET) Moon in Scorpio sextile the Sun at 7º55’ Capricorn
(10:51 AM ET) Moon in Scorpio opposes Uranus at 10º59’ Taurus
(11:58 AM ET) Moon in Scorpio squares Saturn at 11º39’ Aquarius
(7:21 PM ET) Mars in Sagittarius sextiles Saturn at 11º41’ Aquarius
Remember what I said about process pain and hurt? That is what we also move towards on Wednesday as well. However, the difference with Jupiter fully in Pisces now is that planets moving through the fixed signs wont have that buoyancy that Jupiter tends to bring lift up the heaviness that Saturn brings. So as the Moon applies to Saturn, it wont have anything to lift up its spirits. This gives us an opportunity to recognize the severity of the issues of emotional pain and hurt that come up that we need to take some action to change. Taking action and making change towards ending something is also a big part of Wednesday as Mars applies to a sextile with Saturn. This will be the last aspect both Mars and Saturn make to each other until April, where they will conjoin and start a new cycle. In many ways, January-March is about purging and ending what has kept us in stagnancy. If life is like water, flowing down a river, Jupiter will work to break down any dams that serve as a container for this water, and allow the energy to flow. Make sure you’re guiding this energy and not letting it overwhelm you. Water is life giving but it can be very tumultuous and can get out of control really easily, just like fire.
Thursday Dec 30th
(2:51 AM ET) Moon in Scorpio trine Neptune at 20º38’ Pisces
(4:53 AM ET) Mercury conjoins Pluto at 25º53’ Capricorn
(8:18 AM ET) Moon in Scorpio sextile Venus Retrograde at 23º57’ Capricorn
(11:27 AM ET) Moon in Scorpio sextile Pluto at 25º53’ Capricorn
(12:10 PM ET) Moon in Scorpio sextile Mercury at 26º19’ Capricorn
VOID MOON: 12:10 PM ET to 6:08 PM ET, 6 hours and 2 minutes
(6:08 PM ET) INGRESS: Moon enters Sagittarius
(6:42 PM ET) Moon in Sagittarius square Jupiter at 00º20’ Pisces
As we move into Thursday, the Moon is passing over Venus and Mercury, who have separated from each other, and now gives us deeper perspective over the level of pain and hurt that we feel. The Moon in Mars ruled signs understands pain. They are not strangers to it, and especially with Mercury conjoining Pluto today, power dynamics are the topic of conversation. This will actually be the first out of 3 times that Mercury conjoins Pluto, and so any secrets you have are going to be brought up to be talked about and worked through. Especially with the Moon looking to dig for information. However, don’t let paranoia get the best of you. The Moon will then enter Sagittarius and then apply to a square to Jupiter. The truth becomes revelead, or anything hidden becomes revealed. As the Moon passes over the South Node in Jupiter’s sign, our sense of faith and optimism becomes squandered. Jupiter is in the process of ending it’s cycle up until March 5th, when it becomes reborn by the Sun, so maybe we need to let go of some of our faith to replace it somewhere else. Jupiter at the bending of the South Node does represent a decrease in the Jupiterian, which is optimism, faith, and abundance. It’s definitely a test of honesty between people and the willingness to work together or to make something work especially while Venus is Retorgrade. Jupiter will be approaching the bending of the South Node up until Jan 3rd, 2022 at 6:38 AM ET where it will officially go exact.
Friday Dec 31st
(1:14 PM ET) Moon in Sagittarius sextile Saturn at 11º52’ Aquarius
(3:00 PM ET) Moon conjoins Mars at 12º58’ Sagittarius
Friday mirrors Monday, where the Moon is dealing with the malefics, but this time it conjoins Mars and sextiles Saturn. It highlights and activates what that Mars/Saturn sextile was doing earlier in the month, and closing a cycle. Contrary to the Moon in Libra, the Moon in Sagittarius is in pursuit of the truth. Sagittarius is the expansiveness of Jupiter in the external form, and invites us to go out and seek experiences and find a target to aim at. This can look like trying to weaponize a point of view and point the finger at someone, but it can also look like taking a leap of faith even if your capacity to have faith is depleted. Be bold and take action, but make sure your action is aligned with your purpose, otherwise, you may find yourself lost. Spirit, Mind, Body.
Saturday Jan 1st, 2022
(3:15 AM ET) Moon in Sagittarius square Neptune at 20º40’ Pisces
(4:49 AM ET) Sun in Capricorn trine Uranus at 10º56’ Taurus
VOID MOON: 3:15 AM ET to 6:02 PM ET, 15 hours and 13 minutes.
(6:02 PM ET) INGRESS: Moon enters Capricorn
(7:12 PM ET) Moon in Capricorn sextile Jupiter at 00º44’ Pisces
Happy New Year, we start off this New Year with the Moon in Capricorn, and with the Moon squaring Neptune, shit is confusing, not gonna lie. We spend most of New Years Day with a Void Moon for around 16 hours, so it’s definitely time to rest after feeling deflated. The Moon in Capricorn is about stillness and slowness, and with a sextile to Jupiter, this may actually work in our favor, as it allows us to be able to utilize rest to our advantage. It makes me think of meditation, or just sitting in silence. It’s a day to reflect on what you want to set as your intentions for the year ahead, especially as the Moon is approaching the Sun gearing up for the New Moon tomorrow. Just take it easy today, you don’t need to do that much. Just let the confusion sit with you and let it pass.
Sunday Jan 2nd, 2022
(2:09 AM ET) INGRESS: Mercury enters Aquarius
(11:19 AM ET) Moon in Capricorn trine Uranus at 10º55’ Taurus
(1:33 PM ET) LUNATION: New Moon at 12º20’ Capricorn
Sunday is the New Moon in Capricorn, but Mercury also enters Aquarius. This is actually really interesting because today, Mercury emerges from the Sun’s Beams and makes its appearance in the Evening Sky, you’ll be able to see Mercury just after sunset. Mercury enters Aquarius where it will deliver fresh news, and then station Retrograde on Jan 14th. The symbolism of Mercury being visible while freshly entering a new sign is potent. Some sort of information emerges and is delivered or received, and as a result, it caused us to make some changes to our plans in some way, or we find ourselves being delayed. When Mercury enters Aquarius, it will apply towards a conjunction with Saturn. But before that conjunction can happen, Mercury stations Retrograde. This configuration is called a revocation, and it is when one planet stations Retrograde before it completes its aspect with another planet, symbolizing a reversal, change of mind, and things not coming together. Mercury entering fresh in Aquarius enters new territory than its encounters with Venus and Pluto in Capricorn. Mercury delivers the news of Venus in Capricorn and it’s a lot more sharp and rigid. Aquarius is a Fixed Sign, so we find ourselves in some inertia. Aquarius is also an Air sign, which deals with the topics of connectivity and networking. Often times communication and travel. News of delays or news of cancellations. Aquarius is ruled by Saturn, who is a malefic, and Saturn is currently in Aquarius. If Saturn represents blockages and restrictions, Mercury is not able to move past Saturn, because it stations Retrograde before it passes Saturn in Zodiacal Degrees. That happens on March 2nd. This is representative of the fact that we become aware of something, a reversal or challenge that was brought up with the Venus Retrograde— a complication if you will. And we have to work to move past that obstacle, but because Mercury doesn’t pass Saturn, we cant move past it. It’s like trying to get on the other side of a locked door. Mercury is definitely going to be picking locks, especially in an Air Sign. On top of this beginning a New Moon, there is this idea of something being planted, a seed if you will. It’s a fresh start towards making changes and taking the initiative to break yourself out of the stagnancy that 2021 may have caused.
