Weekly Graphic
Monday Feb 20th
[2:05 AM ET] LUNATION: New Moon at 01º22’ Pisces
[2:55 AM ET] INGRESS: Venus enters Aries
On Monday, the Moon, after just entering Pisces, makes a conjunction to the Sun which begins the lunar month. This conjunction between the Sun and Moon happens at 1º22’ Pisces and they are omens of new starts, beginnings, and changes that emerge in the house Pisces rules in your chart. The Sun’s rays scorch and burn the Moon, loosing all of her light, and then become reborn and starts gaining more light. She continues to move out of the rays of the Sun, where she will start to be visible in the evening sky again throughout the next two weeks. This New Moon will be closely conjoined to Saturn, who will be getting ready to enter Pisces in 2 weeks on March 7th, 2023. This New Moon ushers in a much longer story that will develop over the next 3 years that brings restrictions, limitations, the need to establish and build foundations, tests of longevity and endurance to the topics these house rules in your chart. Along with Venus in Pisces, the Sun in Pisces begins a season long focus on this house in your chart.
This New Moon does carry some malefic energy with it that spurs contests, conflict, and competition as the next aspect the Moon makes is a square to Mars in Gemini. After the rough landing going into the New Moon while the Moon was waning, the Moon waxing brings more energy and action especially as the Moon moves into Aries later this week. Mars will cross into its own Decan and Bound this week (from Feb 23rd to March 12th) which will give a boost of Martial energy in the sky. Mars is currently the only planet who regards that Full Moon, but it also imitates tensions that Mars will have with the Sun as we move deeper through Pisces Season. Mars making a hard aspect to the Sun shows matters of conflict, war, aggression, fights, and contesting wills being important throughout the entirety of Pisces season. Some of us may feel really driven to fight for “what we believe in” as the Jupiterian principle. The question becomes are we absorbing the right information? Mercury is the ruler of Mars and they will enter besiegement this week, which shows the relationship to news, delivering information, and communication being under attack or Besieged. Mercury will join the Sun in Pisces to square Mars, which will show major tensions and harm that is causes from misinformation (or outright lying), language that is harmful, breaking rules, mean, and insulting; lack of communication, connection issues, tech issues, data leaks, potentially blackouts. Mars tends to set things ablaze and on fire, and in the square aspect Mars especially harms Mercury. More of this story is developed throughout the week. It is an omen to be mindful of the way you communicate and express yourself throughout the next few days.
Tuesday Feb 21st
[1:43 AM ET] The Moon in Pisces square Mars at 16º11’ Gemini
On Tuesday, the Moon will continue to go through Pisces and it makes a square to Mars in Gemini. This can bring physical inflammation, fevers, heating up, harm from burns, hot things, cuts, and sharp things. The Moon is in the overcoming position to Mars, and is in triplicity, so it can help soften the influence but providing tenderness, compassion, and inclusiveness but in a square to Mars it shows mental distress, arguments, and verbal hostility. We may feel overstimulated, the extra mutable wishy-washy nature of today. The double-bodied nature of today make the day changeable and flexible. The Moon wants to rest, relax, and chill in Pisces but there is just this stress and irritation from the square to Mars. Usually people are more frustrated when the Moon is square malefics, but [The Moon] being in the overcoming position does help soothe things down and offers calming relief as she separates. This day is Tuesday too so the Moon squaring Mars is felt extra potently as its Mars’ day.
(Side note: I had margaritas on Monday because I had off, and on Tuesday morning my stomach was BURNING. Literally on fire as the Moon squared Mars. Moon = the margaritas I was indulging in (Pisces), Mars = the burning acid in my stomach)
Wednesday Feb 22nd
[12:13 AM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Aries
[4:25 AM ET] The Moon conjoins Venus at 02º32’ Aries
[3:13 PM ET] Mercury in Aquarius trines Mars at 16º45’ Gemini
[5:48 PM ET] The Moon conjoins Jupiter at 10º31’ Aries
Right after midnight, the Moon will enter Aries where it will make a conjunction to Venus in Aries. The Moon will move from the conjunction to Venus to a conjunction with Jupiter in Aries. Throughout this time, the Moon will be enclosed between the benefic planets. The Moon conjoining Venus talks a lot about the challenging condition Venus is placed in, but hope, optimism, and support to help her out of it. Venus talks a lot about justice and peace as principles. If there is no justice, there cannot be peace, and Venus being exiled shows the lack of peace and justice. Venus shows harmony and unity, but in Aries, Venus shows discord and enmity. The Moon is translating the light from Venus to Jupiter, the planet of generosity, removing restrictions, affirmation and support, justice, and freedom. Jupiter aims to liberate and remove restrictions from people path, and in Aries, Jupiter does that through competitions, contests, and with quickness. These 3 planets in Aries together emphasizes the Cardinality of the sign, which is the impulse to initiate, begin, and start a process of change. The emphasis of the fire makes it loud, bright, and hot. The heat of fire allows for expansion and growth, but the dryness shows friction, anger, and rigidity. Aries is a sign who is ruled by Mars in Gemini, and usually when it shows up in astro, it is an omen for new beginnings, quick starts, as the first sign it shows all sorts of initiations and starts, matters of contests, fights, protests, and action. The Moon will be enclosed between benefics all day which offers some optimism, liberation, and support in one manner but…
On the other hand, Mercury will make a trine to Mars today. Mercury and Mars together are said to be indicative of liars, thieves, those who are clever with their hands, scammers, tricksters, and strategy associated with this time. Mercury and Mars are similar in nature because they are quick, and Mercury adds strategy of how to fight, knowledge & skill in competition. Mars is a malefic so when paired with Mercury it turns Mercury’s nature to be malefic. Mercury and Mars here can talk about strategies, weapons, and instruments of war being of focus. Fighting plans, fighting words, debates, and arguments. So Mercury during this time will be besieged (in between the aspects of 2 malefic planets) since it will move from the trine to Mars to a conjunction to Saturn. There is more heightened aggression and swiftness in speech during this time. Harsh language, harmful language, and things not permitted “within the boundaries” are kind of the themes here. Mercury is in Aquarius and so is Saturn, and this sign is all concerned with the boundaries of things— the limits, the borders, the thresholds. The themes of censorship and feeling restricted in what one has to say become more prevalent as Mercury makes a conjunction to Saturn. We may feel our nervous system inflamed and filled with adrenaline, which Mars often brings. Mars is in good reception with Mercury here though. Images of fire and paper come to mind with this combination of planets. Burning books, burning paper, fires. Mars often brings this imagery, but Mercury is knowledge stored in books, or tech, data, etc. Take a look at the house Aquarius and Gemini rule in your chart, because they get activated today and throughout the week.
The day will end more optimism, feeling help, support, and enthusiasm to take action, start new beginnings, and take initiative as the Moon makes a conjunction to Jupiter. The energy is very contrasting because the Luna enclosure between Venus and Jupiter talk about hope, liberation, and freedom, but Mercury going into the besiegement zone shows extremes, friction, and inflammation. Overall, I am excited for the bursts of energy that come up with this transit, especially since the Moon is waxing and gaining light, this month starts of very quick and SCREAMS urgency. NOW NOW NOW!!!! I should also add that the Moon conjoining Venus is really good for creative and artistic pursuits, like releasing music, building hype, and dancing. Jupiter lends support towards artists and creative as it is also in Venus’ bound.
Thursday Feb 23rd
[4:44 AM ET] The Moon in Aries sextile Mars at 16º57’ Gemini
[6:02 AM ET] The Moon in Aries sextile Mercury at 17º43’ Aquarius
Even though the Mercury/Mars trine went exact on Wednesday, the Moon will highlight this configuration as it moves further through Aries, separating from a conjunction to Jupiter. The Moon makes a sextile to both Mercury in Aquarius, and Mars in Gemini (the domicile lord). The Moon in Aries moves very fast and quick through this sign and the sextile to Mars sparks some anger, friction, and irritation in the beginning of the day. Feeling alert, awake, and restless in energy are symptoms of the energetic Aries/Gemini nature of this transit. The Moon also makes a sextile to Mercury, who is the bound lord of the Moon currently, and it delivers information, news that can spark anger, gossip, whisper, and malice with words. The Moon is in pretty good reception with the planets here and it brings lots of strategizing, debates, arguments, aggressive, and confrontational behavior with people verbally. Flaming or roasting people is also a symptom of this transit. The jab or insult with Aries and the cleverness of Gemini to tell jokes. I think this brings a more exhaustive feel towards the end of Thursday since the Moon will be applying towards a sextile with Saturn, but the malefic energy can bring more irritation throughout the day. Be mindful of the words and the impact they have on others.
Friday Feb 24th
[1:05 AM ET] The Moon in Aries sextile Saturn at 28º39’ Aquarius
[3:29 AM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Taurus
[1:57 PM ET] The Moon conjoins the North Node at 05º51’ Taurus
[2:01 PM ET] The Moon in Taurus sextile the Sun at 05º53’ Pisces
On Friday, the Moon will make a sextile to Saturn early in the morning which will bring a more relaxing, serious, and slowed down vibe after-midnight ET. Where Aries was all about action and high energy, the Moon slows down as it encounters Saturn. The Moon will then enter Taurus 2.5 hours after which is the sign of its exaltation. The Moon will be in a supportive position where she is waxing, gaining light, and growing in the sign representing growth, nurturance, and harmony. This sextile is a reminder that Pisces Season shows the hints of early spring in the Tropical Zodiac. The luminaries in good aspect for the day is supportive and a calming influence, since Pisces and Taurus are both restful signs. After the action and bursts of energy in Aries over the past few days, things attempt to mellow out in Taurus. The Moon is the exaltation lord, but is ruler by Venus in Aries who is exiled. So it’s like the calm and exhaustion after a burnout rather than sitting down and gently relaxing. The Moon will make a conjunction to the North Node which can make us feel more lethargic and desiring to do absolutely nothing but rest. The Moon is the planet of rest and if she encounters the North Node, she amplifies the need for rest. Things are more chill throughout the day though, the Sun is sextile the Moon so things are mellowed out.
Saturday Feb 25th
[7:15 PM ET] The Moon in Taurus square Mercury at 21º47’ Aquarius
On Saturday, the Moon will continue to move through the sign Taurus. Desiring more stability, security, and fixity. The Exalted Moon is nice, she wants us to relax, to indulge, to be with close friends, to show support to others, and laugh. The Moon will be moving towards a square to Mercury throughout the entire day, and but the mellowed out feeling remains throughout the morning. As the Moon makes a square to Mercury, it highlights the growing conjunction between Mercury and Saturn. This highlights restrictions with news, information, and access to knowledge; censorship, silencing, and restricting speech. Mercury translates a lot of the important changes Saturn is about to undergo as it shifts into Pisces. Mercury warns of the harm, of the danger, and challenges as Saturn goes into the next sign but is in between the aspect of the two malefics. Fear, anxiety, and criticism may disturb the chill vibes. Mercury is in Aquarius besieged, and overcoming the Moon in Taurus shows anxiety disturbing comfort. The Moon will apply towards a square to Saturn after it squares Mercury so blockages, restrictions, and barriers are found in our path. This is a good aspect for getting and writing, sending messages, and doing any paperwork. The square from Mercury can make our brain feel scattered and frustrated since its a hard aspect to Mercury, but there is support to mellow out and even the stress through the Moon’s balancing nature in her exaltation.
Sunday Feb 26th
[8:45 AM ET] The Moon in Taurus square Saturn at 28º55’ Aquarius
[10:47 AM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Gemini
On Sunday, the Moon will make a square to Saturn in Aquarius, which will probably be the last square these planets will make in this sign. In many ways, restrictions, issues, limits, and heaviness that were brought to this sign in the past don’t linger as much, but this is one final moment we deal with barriers and restrictions. Saturn says no in a hard aspect and here Saturn pushes labor, exhaustion, and inhibition of action over towards the Moon. The body feeling exhausted, injured, or worn out are feelings of the Moon receiving this overcoming square from the malefic. The Moon will then change signs and enter Gemini as this square continues to separates. The Moon moves into a mutable sign which changes the pace for the day, fluctuating, inconsistent, and plans constantly changing is the way of this modality. People feel chatty, conversational, social, and desire to engage in discourse in this Mercury ruled sign. The Moon will be applying towards a conjunction with Mars but that won’t go exact until next week (late monday into tuesday), but it does portend for conflict, verbal hostility, physical fights, injury, sudden disruptions, outbursts, and interruptions in our life. Before the Moon makes the conjunction it will sextile the benefics, which adds some support and give the Moon friendship to deal with the issues Mars highlights in this sign. This ingress brings lots of conversation and quickness of speech into the end of this weekend and starts off the beginning of next week.
