Week 7: February 2023, Week 3 - The Week Ahead Horoscope
The Sun conjoins Saturn this week in Aquarius, Mercury covers new ground in Aquarius, and Pisces Season begins over the weekend. Lots of major shifts take place this week.
Weekly Graphic
This week is an interesting week in the astrology since the main star of the show is the Saturn Cazimi in the middle of the week. This conjunction of the Sun and Saturn shows a reset that is coming to the house this sign rules in your chart, but it also shows the beginning of a new cycle in dealing with Saturnian topics. Images of things coming to an end, resetting and redefining the rules, limits, and restrictions become important this week. Mercury and Jupiter make a sextile together this week which helps to bring important talks about liberation and freedom admits the restrictive quality of Saturn. Pisces Season also begins this week which brings a softer focus and emphasis to the house this sign rules in your chart, especially because this will be Venus’ last week in this sign. The Moon will be loosing light throughout the entire week, and when the Moon is in this balsamic/dark moon phase, we generally feel more tired, retreating, and low energy. Endings and releasing things are the broad theme for the week.

Monday Feb 13th
[5:16 AM ET] The Moon in Scorpio trine Venus at 21º29’ Pisces
[11:00 AM ET] The Moon in Scorpio square the Sun at 24º40’ Aquarius
[3:53 PM ET] The Moon in Scorpio square Saturn at 27º23’ Aquarius
[8:31 PM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Sagittarius
On Monday, the Moon in Scorpio makes a trine to Venus early in the morning which is one of the nicer aspect for this Scorpio Moon transits. The Moon in Scorpio typically talks about where we feel a lack of nourishment, relaxation, and sense of security since the Moon is in its Depression. The qualities of the Moon are being suppressed here and the Moon has a harder time bringing about more of the constructive manifestations of its significations. However, a trine to Venus who is in the sign of their Exaltation has the strength to help the Moon out. The Moon and Venus are buddies, they’re both part of the nocturnal sect, and share a wet quality. In a trine to the Moon, Venus offers love, compassion, justice, fairness, and release of pain to soothe the stinging sensation of the Moon in Scorpio. The Moon represents the body, and if it is Fallen, the body is not in good physical condition, lacking support, feeling wounded, and raw. This can also represent the state of our emotions too, feeling wounded and hurt since the Moon is in a Mars ruled sign. A Fallen planet making an aspect with an Exalted Planet is an alleviation of harsh conditions set by Mars, bringing mental anguish, anxiety, and frustration. Venus in the jovial sign of Pisces offers more inclusivity, compassion, and support for the Moon. However, the next aspect that the Moon encounters is a square to both the Sun and Saturn in Aquarius. The Moon makes a square to the Sun and right now both the Sun and Moon are in signs they are challenged in. The Moon talks about something being brought to an end, a death, letting go, and release since the Moon is loosing light in this Final Quarter stage, and is conjunct the South Node. This final closing square comes with a very serious, with strain, stern disposition, and rejective tone since Saturn is the next planet in aspect through a square. This square highlights an important reset coming to the house Aquarius rules in your chart since the Sun and Saturn will conjoin each other this Wednesday. Saturn in a hard aspect to the Moon is an indicator of conflict due to rejection, boundaries, obstacles, and feeling detached or a certain level of coldness— like a cold shoulder. Moon squaring Saturn can also bring physical issues and strains. Saturn can make us physically exhausted, needing to stop, or reaching limits. Things end on a more bitter note since this is the last aspect for the day. The Moon will then enter Sagittarius, leaving the dark cavern of the Scorpion and entering into the jovial, optimistic, and merry Jupiter-ruled sign. The vibe shifts once the Moon enters Sagittarius and the heaviness starts to release and lessen as the Moon separates away from this square to Saturn.

Tuesday Feb 14th
[3:39 AM ET] The Moon in Sagittarius sextile Mercury at 04º02’ Aquarius
[11:55 AM ET] The Moon in Sagittarius trine Jupiter at 08º46’ Aries
[9:06 PM ET] The Moon in Sagittarius opposes Mars at 14º04’ Gemini
On Tuesday, the Moon in Sagittarius will make a sextile to Mercury who just entered Aquarius early in the morning. This is a great aspect for doing work requiring logic, math, technology, reading, writing, editing, and sending messages/letters. Mercury in Aquarius is very strengthened in these first few degrees, since it is in its Triplicity (the element it co-rules with 2 other planets), and Bound (term or limits it rules over the sign), and is a Morning Star (active, swift, and direct) and Fast in motion. We have a Hermes who is moving swift in the sky, delivering messages, information, and requiring us to get all the details, facts, and information in order. Mercury adds more rigor and makes us more aware of rules, limits, and constraints in expression, and the need to refine that further. Valens in Book I of the Anthologies says this Mercurial bound of Aquarius is:
“The first 7° of Aquarius belong to Mercury: rich, miserly, gladly hoarding wealth up to the measure of the nativity, intelligent, learned in the law, precisely defining everything, imperious, petty, careworn, loving education and all disciplines, supervisory, overseeing, philanthropic.” - Mark Riley translation
The Moon in Sagittarius is ruled by the expansive, visionary, and freedom loving Jupiter, and it will make a trine to its ruler as the next aspect. One of the major connections that is being highlighted this week is a connection between Mercury and Jupiter which portends for good news. Jupiter is expansive, filled with wisdom, knowledge, and the sciences of many things, and Mercury shows the learning of wisdom, demonstrations of knowledge, and success in educational pursuits. The Moon making both positive aspects to Mercury and Jupiter in Sagittarius activates an aspect that goes exact on Friday. This is some positive energy to carry us through the week while there are more serious resets and challenges that begin to take shape with the Sun and Saturn. While there is some level of wisdom or knowledge that Mercury and Jupiter have to offer us since there is nice reception between the Moon and Jupiter, the last aspect for the day is an opposition to Mars. Maybe the loosening of restrictions and freedom leads to irritation, conflict, arguments, and harsh words exchanged. The Moon in Sagittarius seeks the truth and it’s trine to Jupiter is an omen of receiving the truth or honesty but then encountering slander, lies, and false information with Mars in Gemini making a hard aspect through the opposition. Mars can inflame, agitate, aggravate, and bring conflict, fights, and contesting wills against each other.
This also pulls together and important story developing between Mercury and Mars who will make a trine to each other that goes exact next week. Mercury has been averse to Mars (lacking an aspect, thus not seeing or acknowledging Mars) which mean intelligence and knowledge about fighting, conflict, & contests have been more secret & private, but shift to being more open & recognizable since these planets share harmony with each other through the trine aspect. Mercury is the ruler of Mars and Mercury making a trine to Mars from the sign of Aquarius, ruled by Saturn is the influence of Mercury formalizing, fixing, and enforcing rigidity of knowledge, limiting information, and restrictions in speech that Mars in Gemini needs in order to in act some harm/violence. Mars in Gemini making a trine to its domicile lord is a reception where Mercury assist Mars to bring harm to the sign, Gemini in this case. Plans of attacks become less covert and more out in the open, and verbal tension can increase in social settings, more arguments and debates are for certain. There is a more forceful or loud tone to this transit since Mars brings the loudness according to many ancient sources, whereas Mercury is the communication itself. Mercury is a planet of stratagems and Mars is about contests and fighting, so this starts to be formed this week.
The Moon highlights the fights and conflict as it opposes Mars today. This day has mixed energy because of the malefic opposition, but also great support from Jupiter to know the truth, to bring initiation, action, and embolden our hearts. Fire is the theme of the day. The Moon is in a fire sign, its ruler is in a fire sign, and Jupiter’s ruler is Mars the fiery planet. Jupiter confirms quickness in action today and while also showing breaks in oaths and dishonesty.
Wednesday Feb 15th
[2:42 PM ET] The Moon in Sagittarius square Venus at 24º26’ Pisces
[7:03 PM ET] The Moon in Sagittarius sextile the Sun at 27º01’ Aquarius
[8:05 PM ET] The Moon in Sagittarius sextile Saturn at 27º39’ Aquarius
[11:59 PM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Capricorn
On Wednesday, the Moon will still be transiting through Sagittarius and it encounters a square to Venus as the next aspect. Where there was conflict, confrontation, and words that agitate or inflame us, the Moon making a square to Venus brings more softness and soothes the tension, bringing more peace and compromise to our vibes. Mars shows conflict whereas Venus shows reconciliation. However, a square to Venus can bring conflict with feeling balanced, issues with justice, fairness, and equilibrium. The need to relax, soothe, and calm down becomes prevalent throughout the day. The Moon will then make a sextile to both the Sun and Saturn, which brings a close to this lunar month since this will be the last aspect the Sun and Moon make to each other. There is more clarity and recognition that is found today since the Sun and Moon are in a harmonious aspect. Right as the Moon makes a sextile to the Sun, it also makes a sextile to Saturn as well too which highlights their conjunction together tomorrow (Thursday). Matters of stability, structure, social systems, and organization become important influences on our faith, philosophy, and the way we think about freedom and righteousness. Saturn tells us we need to slow down, helps to stabilize and give form to our visions and ideas. Saturn with the Sun shows serious decisions and changes that need to be made. Saturn helps to slow things down after Mars can speed the pace of things up from yesterday. The Moon will then enter Capricorn towards the end of the day which shifts the Moon to be more serious and stoic.
Thursday Feb 16th
[11:48 AM ET] CAZIMI: The Sun conjoins Saturn at 27º44’ Aquarius
[3:10 PM ET] The Moon in Capricorn square Jupiter at 09º13’ Aries
On Thursday, the Moon will be moving through the early degrees of Capricorn and by the end of the day it makes a square to Jupiter in Aries. This Capricorn Moon is kind of pleasant considering the Moon is exiled, but it will be averse to both malefic planets, which is a good mitigating factor, and will be enclosed between the benefics from Thursday into Friday. The Moon also has dignity by Triplicity (+3) by being in an Earth sign. The Moon in Capricorn is in Saturn’s sign which talks about constraints, limits, and restrictions and a square to Jupiter shows tension in loosening bonds, freeing restrictions, and bringing optimism whereas the Capricorn tone might bring more pessimism.
There is a sense of seriousness and challenging decisions that need to be made today as Saturn makes a conjunction to the Sun today. The Sun and Saturn making a conjunction resets their cycle and starts a new one. A Cazimi is a reset or a rebirth that the planet undergoes when it conjoins the Sun. When the planet was an Evening Star and setting beneath the rays of the Sun, it is said to be something being brought to an end and closing in the house the conjunction takes places in your chart. However, once the conjunction passes and the planet (Saturn) shifts to a Morning Star and is freed from the beams, it represents something that happened in secret, in private, and maybe in a meeting with an authority figure (the Sun) start to become revealed and are fresh, new, and at the beginning of a new cycle. Think about the house that Aquarius rules in your chart, because there is some important ending and beginning that is being brought to this house in your life. Saturn will now start a new cycle with the Sun that will last for the next year until Saturn conjoins the Sun again next Winter in 2024. What’s interesting about this Sun/Saturn conjunction is that there were previously on Jan 23rd, 2021 and February 4th, 2022 when Saturn was in Aquarius. Saturn and the Sun were brought together establishing some new consensus, status quo, defining new limits, rules, restrictions, and structures that would be enduring, long, lasting, and fixed. This conjunction starts out fixed, but both the Sun and Saturn will move into Pisces from the Fixed Sign of Aquarius to the Mutable sign Pisces. In many ways, the causes for weakening of structures, loosening of restrictions, and loss of endurance in the house Aquarius rules become realized in the beginning of March as Saturn becomes revealed in the sky as a Morning Star newly ingressed into Pisces. Some ancient astrologers would interpret this conjunction as the death of an elder, since Saturn in this phase is someone who has reached the end of their life. They would interpret it also as harm that is brought to someone’s father, their assets, and the relationship, since the Sun is consuming Saturn in its flames. Saturn is the ruler in this conjunction, so the limits, constraints, and restrictions (Saturn) around our actions, confidence, and willpower (Sun). Saturn may make us more aware of responsibilities and burdens in this house. Because Saturn will leave Aquarius, this conjunction shows the heaviness, obscurity, and blockages start to leave and loosen in this house. This conjunction is definitely one of the important beginning points in a new cycle of relating to Saturn that will last for the next 3 years (until 2026). There is an extra emphasis on Saturn with this conjunction since Saturn will be in its Domicile +5, Triplicity +3, and Bound +2 giving us an extra strong and dignified Saturn who wants to fix certain rules and limits before leaving this sign. Saturn is in the heart of the Sun today, and it is known as a Cazimi aspect. Saturn can sometimes indicate malice, fear, or harm that can hide in someone’s heart that is revealed today. Serious truths and serious revelations becomes an important theme for today, and with the Moon squaring Jupiter it can show conflicts with the truth. Remember, Saturn is a malefic planet and because it triumphs in this conjunction by domicile, its influence is the one who will be felt. If you have Saturn in a night chart, this can be experienced as a more challenging, but if you’re born during the day, it will feel less constricting or limiting since the heat of the Sun can loosen the restrictive and contractive nature of Saturn. These feelings will last until March 8-10th when Saturn will progressively start to be more visible in the sky as a Morning Star after it just entered Pisces.
A new consensus, new limits, new regulations, laws, extremes, and limits are defined under this conjunction.

Friday Feb 17th
[8:06 PM ET] The Moon in Capricorn sextile Venus at 27º11’ Pisces
[9:13 PM ET] Mercury in Aquarius sextiles Jupiter at 9º29’ Aries
While there is a more serious disposition of the general few weeks of this Astro Weather because of Aquarius Season, Mercury enters the picture again today and makes a sextile over to Jupiter in Aries. We mentioned earlier how this aspect is great for wisdom, learning, sharing of information, and knowledge. Mercury brings learning about tradition, ancient knowledge, history, structures, and the way things are organized in Aquarius and it makes a sextile to Jupiter in Aries which brings an omen of newness, freshness, and quickness. This is also good for learning astrology, finding a teacher, matters of education, law, and knowledge. Divination, religion, and spirituality are also Jupiterian matters and Mercury is good for memorization of holy scriptures. Spirituality, faith, and religion become focal points for knowledge and information. Mercury also brings conversations about law, ethics, and morals. Connecting with a benefic, Mercury acts benefic here and brings us news that is more hopeful. Venus confirms this today too as the Moon makes a sextile to her later tonight. The Moon making a sextile to Venus is good for relaxing, leisure, rest, listening to music, painting, creativity, and artistic pursuits. This enclosure of the Moon in Capricorn is pretty nice and it makes things pretty chill throughout Friday. The Moon will not contact any planets after it sextiles Venus here.

Saturday Feb 18th
[12:34 AM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Aquarius
[3:50 PM ET] The Moon in Aquarius sextile Jupiter at 09º39’ Aries
[5:34 PM ET] INGRESS: Sun enters Pisces
[5:35 PM ET] The Moon conjoins Mercury at 10º45’ Aquarius
This weekend brings some pretty dramatic shifts in the week since the Moon will enter Aquarius where it will appear as a sliver early in the morning before sunrise. The Moon will be applying to a sextile with Jupiter throughout the day, and then make a conjunction to Mercury in Aquarius. Mercury and the Moon in conjunction make it a day filled with discussion, exchange of ideas, talking, meeting, mingling, socializing, writing, reading, speaking, and learning knowledge. Mercury as the scribe and the Moon as the planet as a messenger brings an exactness in our articulation of ideas and thoughts. In Aquarius, the theme is about society, social structures, cultural standards and norms, the limits, boundaries, and restrictions, understanding how society is organized, debates, and arguments since the Moon will conjoin Mercury then trine Mars in Gemini after. Mercury and the Moon bring news to the house Aquarius rules in our chart our way.
Additionally, the Sun changes signs and enters Pisces today beginning Pisces Season. The Sun introduces this sign (and the house this sign rules in your chart) and its importance in the coming weeks as the Sun is the first of a few planets that will move through this sign. Mercury joins the party soon, Venus is about to leave, and Saturn enters in the beginning of March. Since the Sun is separating from Saturn, Saturn was just reborn and a new beginning was started in private in the house Aquarius rules that starts to reveal itself as the weeks pass by. This dignity shift is nice for the Sun since the Sun is exiled in Aquarius, those issues of lack of confidence, over-contemplation, and lack of action start to melt away and the fixity starts to loosen. Pisces gaining more emphasis as a sign means matters of faith, religion, art, creativity, beautiful things, mystics, healers, and poets become important. Venus will be co-present with the Sun for a brief period this weekend before she enters Aries next week. This allows for some nice balanced, creative, and soothing flow to this house. Pisces is a sign ruled by Jupiter who is currently located in the Sun's exaltation (Aries) so there is more of an active and energizing quality that this transit has. This is further confirmed by the fact that the Sun makes a whole sign square to Mars in Gemini, which inflames, agitates, and brings contests. Issues of misinformation, lies, and harmful language that create a conflict in our perception and ability to form trust, compassion, and commune in togetherness.
Sunday Feb 19th
[1:00 AM ET] The Moon in Aquarius trine Mars at 15º28’ Gemini
[9:00 PM ET] The Moon conjoins Saturn at 28º08’ Aquarius
[11:55 PM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Pisces
On Sunday, the Moon in Aquarius will make a trine to Mars in Gemini which adds more energy, spurs action, and allows for the ease of conflict and tension to manifest. Mars in Gemini brings debates, arguments, and contests in knowledge, and the Moon in Aquarius shows our boundaries, limitations, and inhibition. The Moon makes a trine to Mars which can show the transgressing of boundaries, sudden outburst, sudden disruptions, and quickness in action. Mars can cause things to intensify in heat and friction, striking anger and aggression. However, the Moon will be enclosed between malefic planets throughout the entire day so this is one of the less favorable moments in the week. The Moon will be moving towards a conjunction to its domicile lord, who is also a malefic, Saturn in Aquarius and it will be the final conjunction that they will make in the sign Aquarius for another 30 years (until 2050). This conjunction in many ways represents a close and ending to this house (Aquarius) and where it rules in your chart. The Moon conjoining Saturn brings a more austere, serious, depressing, sorrowful, restrained, and gloomy disposition to the day. Saturn urges us to take care of responsibilities, work, and makes us aware of the obstacles, limits, and restrictions in our way. This enclosure of the Moon between the malefics can show a period of physical strain, also issues with traveling and mobility since they are in Air signs. Saturn highlights our fears, anxieties, and burdensome thoughts as the Moon conjoins this star. Scarcity, lack of abundance, and worn down condition are also highlighted when the Moon conjoins Saturn. Old things, traditions, ancient knowledge, ancestors, and elders become important figures that we are seeking and learning information from as the Moon conjoins Saturn. It also brings knowledge of secrets and hidden things. Activites are really inactive during this period as Saturn shows a pause, and the Moon is shedding all of her light. She will enter Pisces later in the day where she will be renewed and a new cycle will begin on the Dark Moon tomorrow (Monday 2/20) in the house Pisces rules in your chart.
Brilliant writing and analysis as usual. Thank you. 😊
