Week 51: December 2022 Week 4, The Week Ahead Horoscope
The Sun enters Capricorn kicking off the Winter Solstice along with a New Moon in Capricorn. Jupiter entering Aries brings forth a new burst of energy as the Cardinal Signs become emphasized this week
Weekly Graphic
Monday, Dec 19th
[8:21 PM ET] The Moon in Scorpio sextile Venus at 12º24’ Capricorn
On Monday, the Moon will be moving through its depression in Scorpio, where its qualities of nourishment, care, safety and protection are diminished. A planet in its fall is said to represent someone who is oppressed by their superiors or authority figures, and in this case it is the protective nature of the Moon who is influenced by Mars who is in the thick of its Retrograde through Gemini currently. The Moon in Scorpio is not all terrible though, because the Moon finds dignity in all of the Water Signs by Triplicity, which can indicate someone finding support amongst their allies and friends, and that is especially the case today as the Moon will connect with one of the other triplicity lords of the Water Signs: Venus. The Moon and Venus will connect through a sextile together through the entire day, and in both of these Martian environments, it brings an element of secrecy & privacy within relationships, coupled with urge for rest, leisure, and relaxing. As the Moon begins to lose light and become a sliver of a crescent in the night sky, today urges us to take things easy, unwind, and recognize the depletion in our energy levels.
Tuesday, Dec 20th
[1:32 AM ET] The Moon in Scorpio opposes Uranus Retrograde at 15º24’ Taurus
[6:58 AM ET] The Moon in Scorpio sextile Mercury at 18º34’ Capricorn
[9:32 AM ET] INGRESS: Jupiter enters Aries
[11:41 AM ET] The Moon in Scorpio square Saturn at 21º21’ Aquarius
On Tuesday, there are some really major transits taking place, such as Jupiter’s re-ingress back into Aries. Before that occurs though, the Moon will still be moving through Scorpio and it encounters sextile to Mercury in Capricorn. Both of these planets are in secretive, hidden, and cunning signs, so we could find the revelations of secrets, but also the need to communicate feelings of pain, neglect, and where our needs have been abandoned as the Moon is Depressed. This is a great time to create plans, tell secrets, and sort through the depths of your emotions. Writing, journaling, speaking, communicating, translating, and sharing knowledge are all encouraged during this time. After this, the Moon will encounter a harsh square from Saturn in Aquarius which brings more sorrow, melancholy, fear, and depresses our moods. We may feel exhausted, tired, worn out, and at our limits. Feelings of rejection, coldness, and blockages/restrictions are felt which make us feel uncared for, unloved, and malnourished. A planet that is in its fall and then encounter a hard aspect from a malefic is like someone who is enduring challenges and then encounters another challenge on top of the previous one. Take it easy today because this Scorpio Moon is extra rough because Jupiter will leave Pisces and enter Aries, not giving us the same level of optimism, liberation, and freedom from the heaviness of Saturn.
Jupiter’s ingress into Aries is an important shift for this week, especially if you have Jupiter activated as your time lord currently, or are a Sagittairus/Pisces Rising. Jupiter spent some time in Aries earlier in the year, actually a few months ago, from May 10th, 2022 to Oct 28th, 2022 but due to its Retrogradation on July 28th, 2022, it went back to Pisces. Jupiter is the planet of optimism, trust, faith, oaths, commitments, honesty, growth, abundance, and expansion and its ingress into Aries starts a new 12 year cycle that Jupiter will take around the zodiac. In Aries, it brings many new beginnings, fresh starts, zeal and enthusiasm to put yourself out there, take bold action, be the initiative, and enter into some position of leadership/authority. Jupiter in Aries was a sign of young leaders receiving elevation from the people, since Jupiter can uplift and support but it usually does this through a democratic or collective agreement. Aries is the first month of Spring and with Mars as its ruler, it brings newness, freshness, and vitality bursting forth the same way the seeds sprout out of the ground and flowers burst open during Aries Season. The heat of Aries paired with the heat of Jupiter brings expansion and growth as heat expands and moves outwards with more vigor and zeal than Jupiter in Pisces. In the Mars ruled sign of Aries, Jupiter brings these opportunities for expansion, growth, and removes limitations through competition, through fights, conflict, and contests. Jupiter has a very competitive streak in this sign, who exudes confidence, bravery, and demands action. Jupiter tried to expand and grow things in the house Aries rules in your chart earlier in the year, but as Jupiter stationed Retrograde, things took a little bit of a twist and the same vigor, zeal, and vitality was lost as Jupiter went back into the mutable, shifting, and indulgent waters of Pisces. Now that Jupiter is returning back to Aries, we find that Jupiter has more clarity, understanding, and energy to keep the momentum sustained, keep the fight going, and more optimism to triumph over obstacles and enemies. For 2023, Jupiter will do a full run through Aries, and eventually end up in Taurus by May 16th, 2023. Jupiter won’t be Retrograding in and out of Taurus like it did for Aquarius, Pisces, and Aries in 2021 and 2022. Jupiter encourages bold action, to move in a new direction, to start something new in the house Aries rules in your chart. Pay attention to the house this sign rules in your chart because the Eclipses will start to transition into Aries/Libra in 2023, which will emphasis this axis in your chart from 2023-2025, bringing major endings and culminations. Jupiter brings issues and struggles with truth, justice, and honesty and a lot of this feels like a fight for these topics next year, especially as Mars enters Cancer. Jupiter has yet to be in Aries while Mars was Retrograde because it re-entered Pisces on Oct 28th, 2 days before Mars stationed Retrograde, so now that Jupiter has entered here, it seems like major themes of sorting out contradiction, lies, false information, and assessing the harm that Mars has been brining in the house Gemini rules in your chart. Jupiter brings more urgency, demands swiftness, and to build hype, noise, and audacity. Mars is the planet the makes things loud, amplifying the volume, and raising the stakes. Jupiter brings collective action and collective demonstration to create and usher in change. This tone shift this week definitely changes our attitudes as we get ready for the new year.
Wednesday, Dec 21st
[2:12 AM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Sagittarius
[2:18 AM ET] The Moon in Sagittarius trine Jupiter at 00º03’ Aries
[4:48 PM ET] INGRESS: The Sun enters Capricorn
[7:50 PM ET] The Sun in Capricorn square Jupiter at 00º07’ Aries
[8:48 PM ET] The Moon in Sagittarius opposes Mars Retrograde at 11º18’ Gemini
On Wednesday, the vibe will shift as the Moon enters Sagittarius, the mutable, fire sign which brings the desire to expand our vision, be more social, and adds lots of more heat into our day that grows and expands in the territory of the jovial fire. One of the nice aspects that goes exact as the Moon ingresses is the Moon makes a trine to its domicile lord, Jupiter who freshly ingressed into Aries, which builds more hype, optimism, enthusiasm, and initiates new beginnings for us today. We find revelations, knowledge, and the truth after a very secretive, depressing, and somber Scorpio Moon. Searching for the truth, the meaning, and the purpose and then finding that wisdom is what Wednesday is about. The Moon is still waning though, ending and wrapping up her cycle, but this boost of fire energy brings more vigor, activity, and inspiration after a rough first few days. The Moon afterwards will then encounter a harsh opposition to Mars in Gemini which spurs fights, contests, conflicts, arguments, and highlights contention with truth, honesty, and faithfulness. We may feel more optimistic, open, and jolly at the first part of the day but grow increasingly more irritable, agitated, and aggravated as the Moon makes this opposition to Mars. This tension is built off of the disinformation, contradictions, and hurtful words that are expressed during this time.
On another hand, today the Sun enters into Capricorn beginning the Winter Solstice. The length of nights are the longest the will get in the Northern Hemisphere, and it is a pivotal moment in the year where the Sun will start gaining strength again. As the Sun enters into this Earthy domain, with it brings more restrictions, seriousness, practicality, and ambition to achieve our goals and dreams. Capricorn is a cardinal sign that initiates and starts things and the Sun makes a square to Jupiter in Aries today, who is also in a Cardinal Sign. Their square really brings a shift in the energy as the two Mars influenced signs talk about action but two different sides. Jupiter is under the influence of an impulsive and urgent Mars, but the Sun is under the influence of a patient, slow, and steady Saturn. There is this tension between responsibilities, commitments, and contemplation with Capricorn and action, swiftness, and fresh beginnings in Aries. We might find that during this time we trying to break out of restrictions, limitations, and find a new found sense of freedom with Jupiter while also trying to juggle and manage the responsibilities Saturn has set up for us to take care of in the house Capricorn rules in our chart. This is a push to expand limits, expand restrictions, and Jupiter allows us to break out of any obstacles set in our path. There is an ambitious and determined streak this transit gives us, and it is a very appropriate start to this season.
Thursday, Dec 22nd
[1:19 PM ET] The Moon in Sagittarius sextile Saturn at 21º32’ Aquarius
On Thursday, the Moon will be enclosed between the aspect of the two malefic planets, Mars and Saturn as it separates from the opposition to Mars, and moves towards a sextile to Saturn. The Moon can represent our body and when in the aspect of the malefics in this type of besiegement, it can show illness, injury, and challenges that are experienced with the body. Saturn gives us the ability slow things down, depletes our energy, and calms us down, inhibiting our action after Mars in Gemini inflamed the Moon in Sagittarius yesterday with anger, urgency, action, and friction. This aspect brings a more somber & serious tone for the day and Saturn urges us to set limits, boundaries, and to know when to put things to rest. We may find support and wisdom from elders, the dead, ancestors, and the past. The Moon is still loosing light and ending her cycle, so this sextile to Saturn really brings things to a hard stop.
Friday, Dec 23rd
[2:49 AM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Capricorn
[3:13 AM ET] The Moon in Capricorn square Jupiter at 00º15’ Aries
[5:16 AM ET] LUNATION: New Moon at 01º32’ Capricorn
Friday, the Moon enters Capricorn where she will enter under the beams of the Sun, and shedding absolutely all of her light, becoming renewed and reborn as she conjoins the Sun. During this time, her actions are more hidden, secret, and we may feel especially depleted with energy during this time. This New Moon feels a lot calmer as the lunation will be averse (in no aspect) to Mars and Saturn throughout this time, although it will be ruled by Saturn. Jupiter in Aries will be closely squared to the lunation which brings more emphasis on the square that is going on between the Sun and Jupiter earlier in the week. Take a look at house Capricorn rules in your chart, this will give indicator of where these new beginnings will be taking place in your chart. Again, Capricorn is a sign about ambition, tenacity, patience, responsibility, and it urges us to think about long term plans and commitments and what level of action is needed to sustain this ambition and momentum moving forward. Jupiter offers us a spark, ignition, and the vigor to achieve success, public recognition, and honors as the Sun and Moon is in the 10th sign from Jupiter. There may be some major changes in authority as the power dynamics shift moving into the coming year. Jupiter comes in to offer a sense of alleviation and support from the heaviness of the responsibilities by finding ways to expand limits, restrictions, and expand our sense of freedom. This lunation feels like a nice balm of benefic energy that sets the tone for the next lunar month as the Moon will connect with Jupiter and then with Venus tomorrow. However, these new beginnings will introduce necessary changes to the house Capricorn rules in your chart as Mercury will station Retrograde in this house by the middle of next week. Much needed revisions of plans and ways to move forward come through before we kick off the new year.
Saturday, Dec 24th
[7:16 AM ET] The Moon conjoins Venus at 17º59’ Capricorn
[2:32 PM ET] The Moon conjoins Mercury at 22º36’ Capricorn
On Saturday, the Moon will start gaining light and increasing in momentum which signifies the growth in our energy after having our energy depleted and reset for this new moon. The Moon will conjoin Venus on its way out of the Sun’s Beams which is a really nice aspect for Saturday, since the Moon with Venus brings laughter, love, joy, its great for creative and artistic pursuits, and the Moon is able to find some help and support since Venus is also a triplicity lord by being in the Earth Sign. The Moon finds help from their allies to help sort out challenges in this house with Mercury. The Moon and Venus conjoined here introduces diplomacy, matters of justice, unification, and harmony to mellow out and balance any tensions and conflict here. The Moon will then conjoin Mercury which helps translate and communicate these new beginnings, new agreements, commitments, and partnerships through information, news, communication, and documents. It’s great for sharing news through writing, speaking, and sharing knowledge. If you have any important documents, letters, or messages you need to send out, this is a beautiful time to do it especially as the Moon is passing between Venus and Mercury for most of the day. There is a more serious, somber, and sober communication of information during this time, but the main focus is on endurance, longevity, and sustainability with Capricorn, especially in these partnerships and connections.
Sunday, Dec 25th
[2:13 AM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Aquarius
[2:56 AM ET] The Moon in Aquarius sextile Jupiter at 00º26’ Aries
[6:34 PM ET] The Moon in Aquarius trine Mars Retrograde at 10º16’ Gemini
On Sunday, the Moon will enter Aquarius, where it still brings us the influence of Saturn through the weekend, but in the enduring, fixed, air sign, there is more of an emphasis on social connections and relationships, and with the first aspect being made is to Jupiter in Aries, the Moon finds support, optimism, and alleviation of bonds through Jupiter. This benefic influence helps to smoothen out the first part of the day, but also spurs action, swiftness in motion, and excitement. Taking action and initiative is important for this day especially as the Moon makes a trine to Mars. Mars raises social tensions and can easily inflame us during this time, but it gives us a certain level of confidence as the Moon is in this Saturnian environment, which is restrictive, contemplative, and inhibits our will. This energy is contrasting to the planets the Moon is connecting with which invites us to open up, to do things quickly, and Mars sparks the ignition. The Moon will be moving towards a conjunction with Saturn throughout the time it connects with these planets, but this doesn’t perfect until Monday. However, this conjunction does bring more seriousness and awareness of blockages, restrictions, and obstacles in our path. Mars and Jupiter gives us a nice boost of energy and action to move past these restrictions Saturn sets in place. More of this on Monday though.
