Monday, Dec 12th
[1:12 PM ET] The Sun in Sagittarius sextile Saturn at 20º41’ Aquarius
[8:04 PM ET] The Moon in Leo sextile Mars Retrograde at 14º17’ Gemini
[10:46 PM ET] The Moon in Leo square Uranus Retrograde at 15º37’ Taurus
On Monday, the Sun in Sagittarius makes a sextile to Saturn in Aquarius, and this aspect brings and agreement between these two planets. Saturn wants to talk about endurance, long term issues, as well how we can create stability in our own lives. With the Sun as a planet of willpower and authority, it gives us the ability to dream and to find a way to make our visions reality. It’s a very sobering feeling of our perspective on life, and it urges us to be realistic about our goals. The Sun and Saturn are both allies since they’re triplicity lords of the fire signs, and Saturn of the Air signs, so it can represent finding support from a friend or ally. Planets in sextile are in agreement, and this connection gives sets the tone for the entire week, slowing us down, and having us set important boundaries for ourselves. The Sun was in this besiegement zone as it went from an opposition to Mars in Gemini and now a sextile to Saturn in Aquarius. The Sun is now moving towards a square to Jupiter where it will find some alleviation from the depressing and inflaming experience of Mars, who it was in an opposition to the entirety of Sag Season.
Speaking of Mars, the Moon in Leo makes a sextile to Mars today which is the only aspect she will make today. Briefly, she enters a malefic enclosure where it highlights our stress, anxiety, and retrograde shenanigans. The Moon will be enclosed until it reaches an opposition to Saturn in Aquarius tomorrow, which shows this challenge between action, initiation, and sudden outbursts of anger or frustration coupled with fear, rejection, restraint, and needing to exercise self control. We might find that there are harmful words, ideas, or speech that is shared that bruise our self esteem, ego, and sense of self. This is definitely a moment to bite your tongue if you’re feeling confrontational. Consequences of impulsivity will be felt as the Moon approaches an opposition to Saturn tomorrow.
Tuesday, Dec 13th
[9:08 AM ET] The Moon in Leo opposes Saturn at 20º45’ Leo
[10:51 AM ET] The Moon in Leo trine The Sun at 21º36’ Sagittarius
On Tuesday, the Moon makes an opposition to Saturn in Aquarius finally leaving the malefic enclosure, but still encountering a harsh aspect to a malefic makes the morning start off with grave, serious, and sobering news. I mentioned earlier that there could be themes of rejection, having to set boundaries, and coming in contact with some blockage, obstacle, and limitation. This can depress our spirits and bring grief, sadness, and melancholy: all Saturnian topics. We might feel blocked from being able to connect with others. Saturn tends to indicate loneliness and social isolation. The Moon in opposition with Saturn also indicates contention and challenges with elders and older people. The Moon also represents our body, so when it opposes Saturn it can indicate feeling physically exhausted, lots of labor, work, and reaching a limit. Listen to your body and stop when you need to.
The Moon afterwards will make a beautiful aspect for the week which is a trine to the Sun in Sagittarius. This trine is particularly beautiful because the Moon is in Leo, the Sun’s sign, and it makes a harmonious aspect with its domicile lord. While we find rejection in one sense, we might find acceptance a harmony from something else. The Moon being in the 9th position from the Sun can indicate revelations, insight, and wisdom that is gained. The Sun is a planet of prophecy, shedding light, giving guidance and wisdom and today we find some acceptance from leaders, people in positions of authority, executives, and decision makers. Where we might have felt our ego bruised by Saturn, the Sun comes to give us affirmation, acceptance, praise, and recognition for accomplishments and achievements. The days the Sun and Moon are in a trine with each other are always fruitful days, especially since the Sun is in an element it likes to be in: Fire. We find a confidence boost today, which is really interesting because there is such a contrasting energy of the Sun and Saturn. Saturn tends to hide and obscure, but the Sun illuminates and sheds light. Clarity follows the uncertainty today. The Moon will connect with no other planets for the rest of the time it moves through Leo, so this trine to the Sun which is inspirational, warm, and supportive last throughout the entire day. It is great for traveling, divination, seeking guidance, charisma, and pride.
Wednesday, Dec 14th
[3:45 AM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Virgo
[12;10 PM ET] The Sun in Sagittarius square Neptune at 22º40’ Pisces
[3:32 PM ET] The Moon in Virgo trine Venus at 05º53’ Capricorn
On Wednesday, the Moon will leave the Fixed, enduring, and stable fire sign of Leo and enter into the ever changing, earthy, and grounded sign of Virgo. This Moon in Virgo transit will start of really sweet as the Moon will be moving towards a trine to Venus in Capricorn for the next 12 hours after it ingresses. Anytime the Moon connects in a harmonious aspect with Venus, it brings love, relationships, pleasures, games, enjoyment, laughter, and artistic inclinations. This is a great time for being creative, going on dates, finding ways to bring yourself joy and pleasure into your life. Taking rests, going out for some yummy food, drinking good wine, making yummy food— find ways to indulge in the things that make you happy. This is also a good time for sweet talking, making peace, and using your words to help and heal others. The Moon will be in Mercury’s sign, which emphasizes our knowledge, communication, words and with Venus, they become sweet like honey. Getting grounded about our passions, our knowledge, and desires allows for practice, sensual, and physical enjoyment all around.
Thursday, Dec 15th
[4:01 AM ET] The Moon in Virgo trine Mercury at 12º10’ Capricorn
[6:29 AM ET] The Moon in Virgo square Mars Retrograde at 13º25’ Gemini
On Thursday, the Moon will continue to move through Virgo, and after it makes a trine to Venus, it will move over to make a trine to its domicile lord, Mercury. In a very similar way to this past Leo Moon, the Moon will connect with its domicile lord in a harmonious aspect, and especially because a benefic is present it brings important news, information, and knowledge to the forefront of our mind. There is a little bit of a mixed interpretation of whether this is good or bad news, but moreso something not in our exact awareness becomes pushed into our line of sight, as if theres a third party mediating something between two people/parities that cannot see each other. The Moon connecting with Mercury is great for writing, speaking, communicating, learning, and sharing knowledge, however the overcoming square from Mars in Gemini adds stress, challenges and creates inflammatory or urgent response. Whenever the Moon is square Mars is also predisposes the body, in this case the nervous system, towards inflammation, injury, and stress. However there is support in sight as the Moon was separating from a benefic (Venus) and tomorrow will move towards an opposition to Jupiter in Pisces. So while this stress may be temporary, it still highlights sudden outbursts, fights, arguments, and conflict over information and knowledge. There can be the revelations of secrets, hidden knowledge, and information since Mercury is in the restrained sign of Capricorn. This aspect goes exact early in the morning ET, so things might feel very stressful for the rest of the day since the Moon will connect with no other planets today. Feeling irritated, upset, and angry can all occur today.
Friday, Dec 16th
[12:40 AM ET] The Moon in Virgo opposes Neptune at 22º41’ Pisces
[3:56 AM ET] The Moon in Virgo square The Sun at 24º21’ Sagittarius
[2:13 PM ET] The Moon in Virgo opposes Jupiter at 29º41’ Pisces
[2:49 PM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Libra
On Friday, the Moon will make a square to the Sun, which brings us the Quarter Moon, closing out this lunation cycle. There seems to be conflict with the truth and what the facts are. The Moon was moving from this square to Mars and now towards this square to the Sun, bridging the gap that is separating between these two planets. The Sun and Mars has their opposition last week, but this Virgo Moon brings that clashing of egos to last climax before the Sun leaves this fiery, mutable, sign. We might feel more depleted, loosing energy, and vitality as the Moon is waning and becoming a crescent in the sky again. When the Sun and Moon are in a square, it brings discord, conflict with our actions and willpower, in this case the desire to expand, be accepting, and find the truth, whereas the Virgo Moon urges us to be discerning, critical, and check over the facts and details twice. The Moon making that trine to Mercury yesterday gave us much more clarity over the knowledge, but having to combat Mars is really the issue, who is spreading disinformation, lies, and hostile rhetoric. Luckily, we are able to find some liberation, freedom, optimism, and forgiveness as the Moon makes an opposition to Jupiter in Pisces. Finding aid & support from a friend and ally is potent for today. The Virgo Moon transit ends on a more positive note with this aspect to the Greater Benefic, removing limits, removing restrictions, and finding some healthy outlet for us to release our emotions and find friendship. Jupiter offers compassion, healing, and kindness to end this transit. Afterwards, the Moon will enter into the sign of the social butterfly, Libra! The Moon will not connect with any other planets for the rest of the day, but it will be moving towards a square with its domicile lord, Venus in Capricorn. The Moon in Libra enters a Cardinal Sign which brings us quick to action, desires to bring peace, to be diplomatic, pacify and calm down situations, and seek out + create beauty in our lives. The Air element adds a fluid, communicative, and social component to the day which is less serious and rigid like the Virgo Moon. It brings social gatherings, parties, and celebration especially after an opposition from Jupiter.
Saturday, Dec 17th
[8:28 AM ET] The Moon in Libra square Venus at 09º16’ Capricorn
[2:43 PM ET] The Moon in Libra trine Mars Retrograde at 12º37’ Gemini
[4:36 PM ET] Mercury in Capricorn trine Uranus Retrograde at 15º28’ Taurus
[8:25 PM ET] The Moon in Libra square Mercury at 15º40’ Capricorn
For the rest of the weekend, the Moon will be moving through Libra, and it encounters a square to Venus in Capricorn, which brings excitement, fun, giggles, and enjoyment. Again, another great transit for building momentum in love, romance, and going on dates. This weekend is the time to indulge but overindulgence can throw you off your balance, make you feel tired, lethargic, and desiring rest. Sometimes when we see Venus in a square to the Moon, it can indicate feeling out of equilibrium, however the Moon being in reception with its domicile lord is always a good transit, especially since the Moon is in the 10th sign from Venus. It brings praise, accomplishment, success in artistic and creative matters. If you’re looking for a time to make peace, be diplomatic, and come to a compromise, this aspect is really good for it. We might feel a little more mentally stressed out today thought as the Moon makes a trine to Mars, which ignites and inflames us, urging us to be impulsive and take action. There might be a lot more social tension that comes up since the Moon will now be moving through the part of Air Signs where the malefics are sending their rays in. The trine to Mars begets conflict, confrontation, fires, screams, and audacity that disrupts the peace that the Moon and Venus are trying to bring.
One of the more major aspects for the day is when the Moon makes a square to Mercury, which can make us feel very scattered brained, mentally overloaded, and stressed especially as the Moon brings the light from Mars to Mercury. This transit is particularly important though because Mercury today commits phasis, where it finally returns back to being visible in the sky after a period of invisibility since October 3rd. When a planet commits phasis, it is literally making an appearance in the sky, which represents some sort of proclamation or statement that the planet is making. When its Mercury, it can be about some trickery, deception, or games that the trickster planet is pulling. In other instances, it can talk about some sort of information, news, and knowledge being revealed or becoming public. An important instance of this, for example, was when Mercury committed phasis earlier this year and it brought the Supreme Court leak about Roe v Wade being overturned by the corrupt judges on the Supreme Court (the corruption of judges, law, and courts was signifies by the Mars/Jupiter conjunction, Mars bringing an attack and malevolent intentions towards the Jupiterian figures). Mercury makes statements, leaks information, and this might be some sort of secrets in this instance since Mercury is in the sign of Capricorn, known for hidden schemes and plots. Potentially about rules regarding boundaries, lines, borders, limits, and all things related to Capricorn: laws, restrictions, land, administration, and structures. There may be some news about structures changing or the rules, definitions, and writings around old or ancient things surfacing as the Moon makes this square with Mercury. It can bring contradiction now that there is new information that has revealed itself. Mercury will be visible in the Evening sky right after sunset during this time, so if you can, go out and see Mercury before the Sun catches up and reals them into the beams, making them disappear yet again. You can find that some important news will be brought to the house Capricorn rules in your chart.
Sunday, Dec 18th
[6:31 AM ET] The Moon in Libra trine Saturn at 21º09’ Aquarius
[5:02 PM ET] The Moon in Libra sextile the Sun at 26º57’ Sagittarius
[5:35 PM ET] The Moon in Libra square Pluto at 27º15’ Capricorn
[10:30 PM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Scorpio
On Sunday, the Moon will make a trine to Saturn in Aquarius, who is the exaltation lord of Libra, which brings a more serious and slow vibe to the weekend. We might find support from older people, elders, wisdom from the dead, ancient, and old things. Saturn in a trine represents a slowing down that isn’t forceful but gradual and eases into the pause Saturn brings. Saturn is able to provide us with more structure, a sense of fairness, and desiring order as the Moon is in reception with its exaltation lord. Saturn’s wisdom urges us to create plans of action, be careful in our deliberation, consider consequences, and restraint in action. The Moon will then move to sextile the Sun in Sagittarius, which helps to bring recognition, leadership, and confidence on what action we should take moving forward. The Sun and Moon in a supportive aspect in signs ruled by the benefics allows us to find more calm as the Moon now gets ready to end this month and shed the rest of her light yet again. Towards the end of the day, the Moon will enter Scorpio where she enters the sign of her Fall. She won’t connect with any other planets, but being in Fall brings matters of secrets, privacy, and hurt emotions to the surface for us to examine going into next week. The feelings of not being safe, lack of nourishment, and not feeling protected can occur and induce fear, being scared, and hiding. The Moon is not connecting with any challenging planets currently which helps things out, but we find our body feels physically depleted and exhausted as the Moon enters Fall while loosing light. More on this next week
