Reality check. Saturn stations Direct this week, Venus will enter the Heart of the Sun, and Eclipse Season is around the corner... so is Halloween. Trick or Treat?
Announcements
Hello everyone! Welcome to this week’s edition of the newsletter. I do have an announcement but also an invitation which coincides with the current astroweather for this week. You’re invited this weekend to CazimiCon! This will be an Astrology conference that will be hosted on Twitter Spaces this Friday 10/21 and Saturday 10/22 to celebrate the Venus Cazimi in Libra that is taking place at the end of this week. The conference is 100% free to attend, and there are so many brilliant speakers presenting over the course of two days.
I am very proud to be presenting my talk Saturn Stations Direct: Previewing Saturn in Pisces. Saturn will actually station Direct this week in the sky, and to celebrate the end of a long Retrograde, we will kick it off to talk about what the next 2.5 years are going to be like with Saturn in Pisces. We’ll review its major significations and how to interpret Saturn, forming a timeline for the next 2.5 years of major interactions Saturn will have with other planets, reflecting and comparing the experiences of Saturn in Aquarius for the previous 2.5 years, and exploring how it will effect the charts particularly of the Mutable Saturns (if Saturn is in Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, or Pisces) in relationship to the larger 30 year Synodic Cycle of Saturn. It’s going to be a great discussion and I hope to see y’all there!

[10:14 AM ET] The Moon in Cancer square Venus at 22º49’ Libra
[1:15 PM ET] The Moon in Cancer square The Sun at 24º18’ Libra
[4:56 PM ET] The Moon in Cancer opposes Pluto at 26º08’ Capricorn
[6:05 PM ET] The Sun in Libra trine Mars at 24º30’ Gemini
We start off the week with the Moon swimming through the waters of Cancer. The Moon is at home, in their protective, cancer, crabby shell in Cancer, protected and safe. The Moon talks about matters with comfort, protection, security, and safety, and the Moon connects with Venus in Libra through a square early in the morning. Both planets are life giving and supportive, and they are strong, in their domiciles, and connect with each other. The Moon is able to give its virtue of compassion, security, strong emotional bonds and ties to Venus in Libra who’s trying to balance and manage relationships, diplomacy, and peace. This is a really nice moment to kick off the day and the week. The Moon squaring Venus can also indicate challenge and tension in feeling balanced, restrained, and peace making since the square shows conflict. The Moon is dominating over Venus since it is in the 10th house from the position of Venus, and it shows powerful emotions and feelings about what is just, fair, and what provides security and protection. This tension between security and balance is felt early in the morning, especially as the Moon squares the Sun right after it squares Venus. This signifies tension, climax, and power struggles as the Moon releases all of the energy she has accumulated in the previous 2 weeks. The Moon highlights a very tight square between the Sun in Libra and Pluto in Cancer, which brings lots of power struggles with justice, fairness, and exerting willpower. The Moon opposes Pluto which can bring up secrets, fears, anxieties, and tension pulling on the stability of our comfort. As this T-Square is getting activated in the sky in the Cardinal signs, the Sun makes a trine to Mars in Gemini. Mars is only 2 weeks away from stationing Retrograde, and as the Sun trines Mars, it’s a marker that it will eventually get ready to station Retrograde or Direct. Because Mars is in the overcoming trine to the Sun, there are revelations around Martian topics (like fighting, war, conflict, disputes, and arguments in Gemini) that need to be reviewed, are being intensified, and brought to closer focus. There is an awareness of what is slowing down in the house Gemini rules in your chart. Whereas Mars spurs action, moves with quickness & urgency, when it stations Retrograde, it is a moment where Mars must pause, stop, and think on whether it should throw hands or flee. Mars in the overcoming position to the Sun gives quickness, inflames, ignites, and sparks action to be bold, courageous, and shameless. As this major moment of tension with justice, power, control, and taking action + leadership, Mars shows us that something must be done. Stationing Retrograde means Mars is breaking the rules.

[12:44 AM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Leo
[2:44 AM ET] The Moon in Leo trine Jupiter Retrograde at 00º59’ Aries
[10:20 PM ET] Venus in Libra trine Mars at 24º42’ Gemini
On Tuesday Morning, the Moon enters Leo, leaving a really intense and heavy activation from the Sun, Venus, and Pluto, and it enters into the Fixed, Fiery sign, Leo. The Moon calls into focus questions of identity, self, leadership, expression, and affirmation. The Moon is currently ruled by the Sun in Libra, who is currently fallen in their sign. This can highlight the challenges we’re having with confidence, asserting ourselves, our needs, for the fear of being overly dominating of spaces and environments is what the Sun encounters in Libra, which creates as more inhibited and restrained expression of the Sun. The Moon does make a beautiful trine to Jupiter in Aries, which helps to affirm our confidence in ourselves, widen our perspective, and develop deeper self trust. Jupiter is able to share its revisions in Aries of its actions, impulses, and new beginnings with the Moon in Leo, who wants to stabilize the initiating fire found in Aries. This is generally a more positive day when the Moon makes an aspect to the benefics.
On the other hand, the final trine between Venus and Mars goes exact today. Venus and Mars as planets of relationships, separation, unity, and competition are in agreement today, as they both fly through Libra and Gemini. Venus is able to help smoothen out some of the coarseness that Mars can bring to the table. Mars is able to add more excitement, more energy, and ignite Venus today. The urgency to act, to make decisions, and to decide is shown with the quick and swift Mars. Mars also adds more inflammation and heat for Venus to deal with, which she will eventually smoothen out. Venus currently in Libra is showing the different sides of relationships as it connects with different planets, it shows the different sides or factions within conflicts, disputes, and arguments since Mars is in Gemini. These disputes and challenges with fraud, secrets, and lies start to intensify more and more, especially as Venus aspects Mars, it indicates the agreement of some fight, contest, and effort to bring fairness through competition. This theme will persist throughout the entire week. Justice, law, and moral/ethical ideas are highlighted with Jupiter trining the Moon too.
Wednesday, Oct 19th
[1:15 AM ET] The Moon in Leo sextile Mercury at 12º12’ Libra
[9:33 AM ET] The Sun in Libra square Pluto at 26º08’ Capricorn
[12:17 PM ET] The Moon in Leo square Uranus Retrograde at 17º44’ Taurus
[1:59 PM ET] The Moon in Leo opposes Saturn Retrograde at 18º35’ Aquarius
On Wednesday, the Moon will separate from a trine to Jupiter in Aries and it will sextile Mercury, which brings new, information, and knowledge to our doorstep on Wednesday morning, the day of Mercury. The Moon in Leo gives us a moment to write, communicate, share ideas, and highlights shared news between authorities from messengers, since the Moon is in a Royal Sign (Leo). There is major square off today between the Sun and Pluto, which the moon highlighted on Monday, but their square goes exact today. Control, power, coercion, and leadership are highlighted here with Pluto squaring the Sun. The Sun in Libra was traditionally known by ancient astrologers to be representative of a king who is despised by the populous, since the Sun is Fallen in Libra, not being celebrated, but unfavored. This square of this Sun to Pluto can indicate a lack of fairness or justice in matters of leadership, authority, and decision making. Pluto in Capricorn has shown (over the past 15 years) corruption within governments, structures, and obsession with power, control, and even domination amongst leaders, and these structures in society get highlighted in their brittle and unstable way as the Moon highlights the square between Saturn in Aquarius and Uranus in Taurus. We’ve talked previously on the newsletter about how this square shows the volatility, instability, and shaking of structures in society. Uranus can function similarly to Mars (their glyph actually looked very similar, originally) creating the unexpected, interruptions, and breakthroughs, and it brings this volatility to the stable, enduring, and fixed nature of Saturn in Aquarius. Shakeups in infrastructure, foundations, and stability are highlighted as a result of power struggles. Definitely a moment where foundations and structures need to be assessed and whether they are sustainable. Issues on sustainability with resources is the major theme for this transit, and the Moon brings their configuration to light today. The Moon will opposes Saturn towards the end of the day which can bring issues with rejection, conformity, restriction of the will, and feeling tension with a blockage, barrier, restriction, and/or responsibility. Saturn teaches us patience, discipline, and self-restraint.
Thursday, Oct 20th
[2:02 AM ET] Venus in Libra square Pluto at 26º08’ Capricorn
[2:23 AM ET] The Moon in Leo sextile Mars at 24º52’ Gemini
[5:12 AM ET] The Moon in Leo sextile Venus at 26º18’ Libra
[6:35 AM ET] The Moon in Leo sextile the Sun at 27º00’ Libra
[12:25 PM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Virgo
On Thursday, as Venus and the Sun are traveling together through Libra, Venus finally makes her square to Pluto which shows tension with justice, fairness, diplomacy, and compassion as a result of power struggles, unfair dynamics of control, government, and restrictions. The Moon is still traveling through Leo, and after encountering a harsh opposition to Saturn, the Moon is able to move past these barriers and it sextiles Mars in Gemini which adds a boost of energy and spurs confidence to take action and initiative. The Moon is activates the Mars/Venus trine currently ongoing, which helps to pull people and relationships together. The Moon sextile Venus is great for socializing, love, beauty, connections, and ease of mind, definitely a great time for Venus related things. The Moon will eventually come to contact its domicile lord, the Sun, and this can be a beneficial contact since the Moon is in the domicile of the Sun, it is able to push the nature of the Sun’s home in Leo to the Sun who is currently fallen, lacking resources, vitality, and ability to express itself. The Moon is able to give the Sun confidence, knowledge, clarity, and courage to take assert one’s self, identity, and to express yourself. After a tense and rough moment of maybe indecision, contemplation in action, but still needing to make a choice, the Sun is able to find and receive the right information to make a confident decision. The Moon brings these revelations early in the morning, and then the Moon will enter Virgo, where it will bring changes, fluctuations, and the mutable energy for the day.
Friday, Oct 21st
On Friday, the Moon enters Virgo, ruled by Mercury, which brings learning, knowledge, conversations, studying, reading, and writing to the forefront of our minds for the day. The Moon will not be making any aspects to any planets today, which can show a lack of activity, objective, and a day of rest. The Moon’s only aspects it will encounter while it is in Virgo are a square to Mars and opposition to Neptune which won’t go exact tomorrow. There is a sense of calmness to the day, and Venus is inching closer towards the heart of the Sun. The Moon is ruled by Mercury in Libra who is in reception with this Cazimi, and it shows our conversations today are about relationships, connections, fairness, and what types of connections we aim to establish and create.
Saturday, Oct 22nd
[8:37 AM ET] The Moon in Virgo opposes Neptune Retrograde at 23º07’ Pisces
[12:27 PM ET] The Moon in Virgo square Mars at 25º10’ Gemini
[5:17 PM ET] SYNODIC CYCLE: Venus conjoins The Sun (Cazimi) at 29º26’ Libra
[9:00 PM ET] Mercury in Libra trine Saturn Retrograde at 18º35’ Aquarius
[9:24 PM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Libra
[10:17 PM ET] The Moon in Libra opposes Jupiter Retrograde at 00º28’ Aries
The main action for the week takes places this weekend on Saturday, when the Moon highlights confusion in action, contradictions, disputes, and arguments when it opposes Neptune and squares Mars. Neptune overcoming Mars from the earlier square shows lack of clarity, facts, and details. Neptune creates illusions around Mars’s actions or motives, and things can feel confusing. The Moon in Virgo is able to provide the facts, details, and narrow down on the specifics for today. There are definitely tensions between the facts, information, and knowledge. Neptune can tend to twist or distort understanding & our perspective, and its influence on Mars is even more potently felt as Mars is stationing in the sky, not moving, and in this deadlock with Neptune. The Moon squaring Mars shows fights, conflict, confrontation, and competition for the day, in terms of knowledge, accuracy, and truth in information. Neptune in Pisces squaring Mars in Gemini can show lack of discernment and illusions around belief + perspective confusing Mars and what actions it should take. The inconsistency of the mutable signs definitely creates conflict in the day and plans change, minds are wavering, and the mutable madness washes over us today.
Today is very important for another reason because Venus officially conjoins the Sun, meeting and uniting with the Sun for a moment of rebirth, reunion, and starting a new cycle. Venus and the Sun conjoin at 29º Libra, and this is the first conjunction they have had in Libra since 1867. This is a major reset for their cycle since their conjunctions in Libra previously took place in Scorpio. Here’s a list of the previous conjunctions in Libra that took place.
This Venus Cazimi is particularly important because Venus is in domicile being reborn and conjoining the heart of the Sun, who is exiled in Libra. Because this conjunction is shifting into an air sign, think about the changes you were going through 8 years ago, and what has changed since then in the house that Libra/Scorpio rule in your chart. Efforts towards gaining justice, balance, and fairness are what all of this Libra Season is geared towards, but ultimately fulfilling commitment to one’s actions is the test of Libra Season. Anytime a planet conjoins the Sun it signifies a new beginning, and for Venus she brings temperance, diplomacy, agreements, contracts, and alliances. We may see a major historical, and paradigmatic, shift for how we collectively think about relationships, how we think about justice, who is justice served for? What does this look like? How can we strengthen and fortify relationships in our lives? What does mutual selflessness, compassion, and respect + upholding of boundaries look like? Saturn is exalted in Libra, which can show the firming and establishing of connections through defining boundaries and solidifying commitments. Anytime a planet conjoins its domicile lord it can also be a good time, especially since Venus is a benefic, she administers fairness towards the Sun, which removes personal interest and uplifts balance and fairness for both parties. A planet conjoined the Sun is uplifted for those qualities it represents, so Venus brings creativity, love, children, relationships, and beauty to the forefront of our focus for the next few days. Revelations about these topics are also important as well too. Venus conjoining the Sun is also important because it indicates that Venus is going through a phase change, where she was previously a Morning Star (visible before sunrise) since Jan 8th, 2022 (282 days total in this phase) when she conjoined the Sun previously, where she is known as a Goddess of War, Justice, and restoring harmony and balance, whereas she will now be visible as an Evening Star (visible before sunset) where she is known as a goddess of love, sensuality, romance, and relationships. She will eventually station Retrograde and do her every 18 months descent into the Underworld, on July 22, 2023, and there are 278 days until then. We will cover this more later, but Venus will still be invisible in the sky until Nov 19th/20th when she emerges and makes an appearance in the sky once again. This a generally a 50 day period of invisibility that happens when Venus makes the Interior conjunction when Retrograde and Exterior conjunction while Direct. Venus is still invisible, but she’s having an important meeting and major major changes this week. The Cazimi energy is definitely potent and it brings an inception and major new beginnings in the house Libra rules in your chart. Think about where you were at 8 years prior, when this conjunction took place on October 25th, 2014, what relationships dynamics were set up then? That conjunction took place in Scorpio, where Venus was exiled and the qualities of fairness, justice, harmony, and mutual compassion are not supported here. There may have been some important shift towards reciprocating energy and seeking more sustainable and consistent relationships, not hidden in the fear of Scorpio. Questions of ego, selfishness, and domination in dealing with relationships are addressed by Venus, and Venus is not happy with what the Sun in Libra has been doing in its home. Venus exiles and casts the Sun out of this sign. Venus seeks to initiate efforts towards harmony here.
After this happens, Mercury will make an exact trine to Saturn in the overcoming position, which provides Saturn with knowledge, information, and seriousness in news and information for us on this day. Saturn can be a grave or somber planet, and when it connects with Mercury, our speech, communication, and ideas can be somewhat restrained or hidden. Saturn is said to know what other people’s thoughts are, but never share their own amongst the ancient authors. They just are meditative and contemplative. Mercury shows potential legal documents, messages about love, about justice, and important contracts signs or agreed to during this time. Venus and the Sun made a trine to Saturn, and Mercury is here to put that agreement, bond, and commitment “in writing”. Knowledge about old things, the past, ancient knowledge, and history can be the focus of conversations for the day, and the youth (Mercury) providing wisdom to the elders (Saturn). This trine definitely sobers the mind, and brings a depth of awareness, especially around relationships because the Moon will join the party in Libra. Briefly for 7ish hours, we will have 4 planets in Libra, so relationships really are the focus. What boundaries we want to define and establish. There is an opportunity to redo our run through Aquarius, with more facts and details. The Moon will oppose Jupiter in Aries towards the end of the day, which brings tension in faith, commitments, oaths, promises, and vows that are made between people. Jupiter is about trust and honesty, and there is conflict with the truth with the Moon in this opposition. This tension is right on the Equinox points, which bring matters matters of equality and power to the forefront of our minds. All of these planets in Libra are responding to a Venus who is in the heart of the Sun, and the Moon responding to this configuration glances at circumstances that are about to change as things are “thrown out of balance”. Circumstances will eventually change as these planets enter Scorpio tomorrow, going from the favor of Venus with fairness, to the favor of Mars in contradiction. It’s doing or submitting something just on time, just before things change. The Moon entering Libra does feel a little ominous to me because it is technically the enemy of the Sun because it will be Eclipsing the Sun in this case, the one is who is causing the occultation of light, and its like the Moon glances at the Sun and Venus by whole sign, and then the Sun try to escape into Scorpio, catching Venus and the Moon in a place where they are mutually unhappy to be in. The dominating force of the Sun dries out all the moisture since these planets will be consumed by the fire of the Sun. The two planets who rule the element of Water (Venus and the Moon as Cold and Wet plants), are both in positions of discomfort where their moisture and ability to bind and bring things together is evaporated and dried out.
Sunday, Oct 23rd
[12:07 AM ET] STATION: Saturn stations Direct at 18º35’ Aquarius
[3:51 AM ET] INGRESS: Venus enters Scorpio
[6:35 AM ET] INGRESS: The Sun enters Scorpio
On Sunday, Saturn will finally station Direct after Retrograding backwards through Aquarius since June 4th, 2022. This is a moment of clarity, understanding, and forward motion in the house Aquarius rules in your chart. We will find solutions to the blockages and barrier that created hinderances and delayed our actions. Saturn has more strength in its ability to establish firm foundations, create order, and stability in that house. Saturn has a tendency to show structures that are brittle or fragile when Retrograde and reviewing ways to reinforce to longevity by examining what is rotting, decaying, and decomposing. Saturn governs things that are old, ancient, and enduring. Saturn has the tendency to create obscurity in the house that it moves through. Whereas the Sun (ruling Leo) represents the heat of the Sun and its luminance, Saturn (ruling Aquarius) represents the obscuring nature of Winter’s Darkness. Saturn is the dark and the Sun is the light, and Saturn station Direct is the revealing of the hidden, of the unknown, and the certainty after suspicion. This is a major moment for the house that Aquarius rules in your chart, because this is the last time Saturn will station Retrograde or Direct, or even visit this sign again until 2050. Yup. Thats right. 2050. I’ll be 50 by then. So this station is kind of special, because it represents the closing of this chapter of Saturn in Aquarius and this house being heavily emphasized in this moment in time in your chart. Saturn will begin to make preparations to leave this sign and wrap up and loose ends in this house in your chart. Saturn will begin to retrace its steps and prepare to leave Aquarius by March 7th, 2023. This brings us to a total of 135 days left of Saturn in this sign. Reviewing the lessons, the changes, and events that took place in the summer to finally come to a conclusion. This moment of Saturn stationing Direct is a reality check, and seeing what is stable, what is enduring, and what is secure.
A big theme of this Saturn station is that it’s in a tight square to Uranus. The themes that have been ongoing since 2020 of labor, government, resources, disruption, instability, and the governments efforts to restrict and suppress revolution and change. Saturn is overcoming Uranus, and so Saturn has the upper hand in this square, imposing restrictions that contain the volatility, revolution, and chaos of Uranus. Saturn seeks to establish order while Uranus disrupts that order. This tension between these two planets cannot be ignored throughout the rest of October.
This tension gets especially activated as the Sun and Venus enter Scorpio after they made their conjunction yesterday. Their conjunction indicates a new beginning, rebirth, and seed that is planet for the beginning of this next Venus cycle that will slowly become revealed as Venus exits the Beams of the Sun. This meeting with an authority figure about balance, about justice, about peace. Venus is the diplomat, but this is her territory (Libra). The Sun is just too far over the line, and is Fallen, outcasted, and exiled in Libra. However, the tides of now changes. Venus enters the sign she is Exiled in, and the Sun is no longer repressed in Libra, and could theoretically gain some strength by being in a Mars ruled sign. Venus goes from being protected by her chariot in Libra, to being consumed by the fire of the Sun in Scorpio, showing feelings over being socially overwhelmed, exhausted, and needing to go into hiding or retreat since this is a planet in Scorpio. The issues Venus encounters here are lies, slander, and secrets, lack of trust, and fear in relationships, partnerships, and connections. Mars becomes the ruler of both Venus and the Sun, just in time for Mars to station Retrograde in Gemini, the sign of contradiction, nonetheless. The circumstances of the agreements that were formed have changed, and now the Sun as this dominating, fiery, force is consuming Venus in its flames, and it can make us feel like apt towards being diplomatic, agreeable, or even fair. Venus doesn’t have an incentive or responsibility to be nice in restoring matters of justice in Scorpio. She’s not without strength here because she is in the sign of her Triplicity (she enjoys all the water signs), but it definitely does indicate Venus makes social relationships more tense, envious, and even jealous. Venus brings less kindness, more anger, and aggression fueled by Mars, which helps us to appreciate these moments where we can find them. In the shadows, where do we find those we can trust with our secrets, where we have felt personal injustice, and are now able to review the house that Scorpio rules in our chart, but inclining towards letting go and releasing old paradigms of feeling one-sided gratification in our relationships. Venus conjunct the South Node in Scorpio is telling us to let that shit, and let that emotional pain and trauma flow. Emotions and pain can be like ice, freezing up in parts of the body, in Fixed Water, but in Mutable Water we are given the opportunity for the solidity of our emotions (water) to change and fluctuate in Pisces, where Jupiter will enter next week for round 3.
Eclipse Season really starts to kick off with the Sun’s ingress into Scorpio, and the South Node is emphasized for the Solar Eclipse on the Season, which will take place on Tuesday next week (Oct 25th). During Eclipse Season, when the South Node is emphasized by the Sun, it is a moment of letting things go, decay, release, wrapping up old chapters, loose ends, and ending stories within the topics the house represents in your chart. The South Node can help to move focus away from these topics in your life, and remove what is stale, no longer has purpose, or shows unseen circumstances. The house Scorpio rules in our chart gets extra emphasis as our first Eclipse of the Season is the Solar Eclipse in Scorpio, but Mercury will join the party later next week. While the Spring Eclipses (April 30th, 2022 and May 16th, 2022) highlighted the Taurus part of our chart, and what we are increasing or growing, these Fall Eclipses (Oct 25th and Nov 8th) are about endings. There are lots of boiled and bubbly feelings that come out especially as Mars intensifies as it station in the sky in 2 weeks. There’s a lot of uncertainty, feelings of being deceived, or things not appearing as they seem as highlighted for the season. Mercury will be in Scorpio in a mutual reception with Mars, which seems to involve secret intelligence, espionage, spying, ways of secretly obtaining information or knowledge, addressing issues of harm and language and how they are intertwined. Things feeling not nice or hurting people feelings with words that cut deep are a signature of this Scorpio Season. There is a seriousness to it all and needing to firm up boundaries as all of these planets in Scorpio will also be squared to Saturn. We have to make hard but necessary choices and commitments now that Saturn is direct, luckily with more clarity. Saturn stationing is a blessing that gives us the reality check we need to see all the hidden components and layers of the situations we’re currently entangled in. Eclipse Season is around the corner y’all, it’s a big time of the year. Buckle up. The biggest week in 2022 happens next week (Week 43).
