Introduction
Monday, Oct 10th
[4:14 AM ET] The Moon in Aries sextile Mars at 22º53’ Gemini
[10:01 AM ET] The Moon in Aries square Pluto at 26º07’ Capricorn
[5:03 PM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Taurus
[7:50 PM ET] INGRESS: Mercury enters Libra
On Monday, the Moon will be begin to wane as we come down from the Full Moon in Aries. The Moon connects with its ruler Mars in Gemini as it starts loosing light. The Moon Full of light shows confidence, contention, and competition with the Sun. The Moon is able to connect with its domicile lord which allows for this spark, this initiation, and this flame to be sustained. A sextile to Mars initiates a spark, its ignition, and when controlled and moderate like through the sextile, it can be less harmful. We may also feel this flame ignited within our communications and how we speak to each other since Mars is in Gemini. Mars is starting to slow down and is getting ready to station within the coming weeks. Mars is typically a faster planet, who represents quickness, sudden disruptions, urgency, and gets things moving, and this is only further emphasizes in Gemini, however Mars slowing down does indicate hindrances and delays that prevent Mars from being able to swing their sword. A planet stationing Retrograde is one that is said to encounter some sickness or illness that delays them. Mars also highlights delays and slowness that is introduces into the house Gemini rules in our chart. As Mars starts to slow down and gets ready to station Retrograde on October 30th, we start feeling this intensification of Martian themes in our lives in the coming weeks, and especially with this Full Moon in Aries, such as fighting, conflict, competition, contests, courage, and aggression. The ancient astrologers seem to have the opinion that Mars stationing Retrograde is indicative of fleeing from fights, but also a significator for enduring fights and conflict. In Gemini, we see there is disputes over information, arguments, splits, divisions, and dividing things into two since Mars is a double bodied sign. Fights can come in pairs, or there are doubles of something, whether it be something is divided, split, or cannot reconcile, it is highlighted for this Full Moon. This Full Moon begins our Eclipse Season as this is the first Lunation of October, and this one and the next lunation, the Solar Eclipse in Scorpio, will both be ruled by Mars in Gemini, which puts even more emphasis on Mars’ station for the month. Compromise and individuality are the themes, especially since the planets in Aries are tugging on the planets in Libra. The Moon’s actions are affirmed by Jupiter, and again with Mars, and the Sun and Venus show compromise and diplomacy. Are you going to compromise your needs for partnerships that restrain your self expression is the ultimate question here.
After going from a very Martain heavy few days, both the Moon and Mercury enter into Venus’ signs, the Moon enters Taurus and Mercury re-enters Libra. After the Moon has inflamed us and ignited the passion inside of us to release, the Moon enters into the soothing, calm, grounded, and earthy sign Taurus. These next few days should be really grounding as the Moon will be ruled by Venus in Libra, which puts an emphasis towards needing smoothness, compromise, resolution, unity, and balancing power. The Moon in Taurus will be moving over the Saturn/Uranus square later in the week, which highlights this ongoing disruption, volatility, and shake up of infrastructure, systems, government, restrictions, and rules. The Moon urges us to get in touch with the things we need to feel physically nourished, provided for, and comfortable, and acknowledge the systems and structures that restrict our access to these things. Both messengers (the Moon and Mercury) are in signs ruled by Venus who seek resolution, peace, and balance, and they work together to make the next few days as socially agreeable and smooth as possible.
Tuesday, Oct 11th
[5:49 PM ET] The Moon conjoins the North Node at 13º27’ Taurus
[7:50 PM ET] The Sun in Libra trine Saturn Retrograde at 18º41’ Aquarius
On Tuesday, the Moon will be moving through most of Taurus, which does help to smoothen things out for the day. The Moon is averse to Mars which does not allow conflict, ego, or aggression to interfere with our connections for the day, however the Moon will approach the North Node in Taurus. This encounter the Moon has with the North Node is pretty important because the next time the Moon visits here (Nov 8th) the Moon will be Eclipsed. One of the things about the Moon is that she is exalted, which means she is strong in her ability to bring about material security, stability, provide comfort, luxury, and physical pleasure, but the Moon is being deprived of all these qualities because of the conjunction to the North Node. It brings obsession, feeling deprived of energy, of nourishment, and brings a lot of confusion for the day, especially because the Moon cannot connect with her domicile lord, Venus in Libra. The only planet the Moon can currently witness is a square to Saturn in Aquarius. While the Moon finds its energy and source of comfort being hijacked and stolen from the North Node, it encounters blockages, restrictions, and seriousness, somberness, and hard labor from Saturn in Aquarius. We feel physically disturbed from rest and nourishment with these weird influences at play in the Moon’s exaltation. Saturn plays an interesting role in Tuesday’s astrology because while this square is forming between the Moon and Saturn, the Sun makes a trine to Saturn.
Whenever the Sun and Saturn make a trine to each other, it indicates that they will either station Retrograde or Direct. Because the Sun is in the overcoming position, giving the trine to Saturn from Libra to Aquarius, it causes Saturn to station Direct. Libra is the 9th zodiac sign from Aquarius, and the Sun is said to rejoice in the 9th house, according to the ancient astrologers. The overlaps in their significations bring illumination, knowledge, all-seeing or all-knowing (a sense of understanding of the situation), but also interpretation of visions, dreams, divination, astrology, religion, and spirituality. These are interesting significations when contrasted with Saturn who tends to obscure, hide, or conceal things. The Sun in the 9th position from Saturn brings these delays, binds, and restrictions to our awareness in the house Aquarius rules in our chart, and it allows us to have a better understanding of why these delays occurred in the first place. Saturn has been Retrograde since June 4th, 2022, so think about what delays and hinderances occurred around this time, and how those are started to be lifted during this time.
The Sun is said to bring revelations, and when connecting with Saturn, it is a day of having revelations around hidden, concealed, or secret matters. This trine allows for matters of justice, fairness, compromise, and reconciliation to allow things to move forward with the matters signified in the house Aquarius rules.
Saturn will station Direct in 2 weeks on Sunday Oct 23rd, so moving forward Saturn emphasizes the rectification of solutions, forward motion, and the ability to create more stability and structure in this house. The Retrograde of Saturn highlighted where things feel very uncertain, hidden, and unstable over the summer. Saturn emphasizes with the Sun what types of relationships we want to form, and what are the binds that restrict our will in certain partnerships. The Sun gives us knowledge about the source of these hinderances and delays, and now Saturn gets the opportunity to travel back over these degrees of the zodiac (18º to 25º Aquarius) and revisit them with more certainty and clarity. Whenever planets are moving towards their second station towards direct motion it is said to be a good omen because the reversals have finally ended. Think about your relationships to the house topics represented by the house Aquarius rules in your chart. Tuesday is a day the Sun will highlight them and bring it into focus. This trine brings lot of clarity and insight into Saturian topics for the day, but it is definitely one of the more major aspects for this week. Saturn can emphasize heavy labor and burdens in the house Aquarius rules finally starting to get lighter. Saturn regaining quickness is a good omen for the affairs of this house to finally resume.
Wednesday, Oct 12th
[1:46 AM ET] Mars in Gemini square Neptune Retrograde at 23º21’ Pisces
[2:19 AM ET] The Moon conjoins Uranus Retrograde at 18º00’ Taurus
[3:23 AM ET] Mercury in Libra opposes Jupiter Retrograde at 01º41’ Aries
[3:36 AM ET] The Moon in Taurus square Saturn Retrograde at 18º41’ Aquarius
On Wednesday, Mars makes a really important aspect thats emphasized for the entirety of its Retrograde which is a square to Neptune. Mars makes the exact square on Wednesday which can represent confusion within action. Neptune tends to alter our perception of things, the same way water refracts light, or the same way fog clouds our glasses. Mars getting slower is already feeling somewhat confused and intensifying its significations, but in this tight square to Neptune, it really emphasis the confusion of choice. Sometimes Neptune can indicate deception and illusions, and Mars has to chose between whats real and whats distorted from the truth. Neptune in Pisces has the ability to bring more gullibility towards distorted truths and ideals, and Mars highlights the harm and even delusion that can come from misinformation during this time. Mercury also highlights this as well as it opposes Jupiter for round 3 out of 3 on Wednesday. Mercury is the ruler of Mars, and Jupiter is the ruler of Neptune, and both are pulled in contradiction. Mercury wants to contradict, argue, and challenge whereas Jupiter wants to affirm and support. We find this tension in how we engage in relationships, what compromises need to be made, and conversations around trust, oaths, and honesty between people. Mercury went Retrograde and highlighted this opposition previously, and for the last time, it comes back to face Jupiter with more clarity in how to bring about justice, balance, and fairness within our partnerships and agreements. Mercury opposing Jupiter brings big news, but it also pushes us to expand our mind, theres an exaggerative quality to our communication, and its a moment where the student challenges the teacher. Jupiter has had quite a few months to review topics in the house Aries rules, what enthusiasm may have fizzled, and where new beginnings weren’t as sustained. Mercury gives us answers as to how we can find balance. The Moon will conjoin Uranus as this is happening which creates a disruptive environment, invites sudden changes, and the unexpected. The Moon will also square Saturn today which highlights their ongoing square, bringing lethargy, feelings of tiredness, exhaustion, needing rest, pause, and to stop. Saturn shows limits and restraints to our ability to enjoy leisure, relax, and indulge. This makes the rest of the day end on a somber note, serious, tired, and physically pushed to one’s limits. The Moon is the body and the weight of Saturn and its work, laborious tasks, and tediousness dominate the rest of our day. #Tired. Nothing else.
Thursday, Oct 13th
[1:07 AM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Gemini
[4:07 AM ET] The Moon in Gemini sextile Jupiter Retrograde at 01º33’ Aries
[7:29 AM ET] The Moon in Gemini trine Mercury at 03º17’ Libra
On Thursday, the Moon will move through the end of Taurus and enter Gemini. Taurus emphasizes a fixed quality for the past few days, whereas Gemini emphasizes a changeable, malleable, and inconsistent quality. The Moon in Gemini, an Air Sign, makes us social, chatty, wanting to talk to each other, communicate, and get our ideas out. The Moon entering into Gemini shows the wavering nature of the mind, and of our conversations, where it be gossip, news, or just a busy day. The Moon in Gemini becomes an important transit for this month because it will put 6 of the 7 traditional planets in Air Signs for the next few days. This creates a Grand Air Trine in the sky currently.
The extra emphasis on Air as an element puts all these planets in harmony or in agreement with each other. The next few days really give us a chance to clearly understand and redefine a lot of our relationships, alliances, and friendships, because almost all of the sky is currently ruled by Venus except Saturn. Even then, Venus and Saturn will make a trine tomorrow on October 14th, so their agreement is highlighted. Venus is in the overcoming position to Saturn, and giving a benevolent aspect, so there is some sort of sway and tipping of scales that balances out Saturn’s condition being Retrograde. Venus connecting with Saturn bring stability in relationships, agreements, compromise, and solidifies agreements. Venus is also able to smooth things out for Saturn more, providing diplomacy, whether it be in a legal sense because of Libra, or dealing with matters related to the government/law. Saturn can be excessively rigid and stern, and Venus allows room for compassion, fairness, and beauty. Justice is beautiful, and thinking about how we can bring justice in our relationships is what Venus and Saturn ask us. Social agreements and contracts are all Aquarius and Libra. The way society is organized. Ideas are thrown around and unstable in Mutable Gemini, then they are decided upon in Cardinal Libra, after weighing carefully with much deliberation they act with no fear or favor, and in Fixed Aquarius they are solidified, standardized, and made a custom. The Moon in Gemini highlights ideas and conversations about peace, about justice, about what is fair. Luckily the Moon is able to connect with its domicile lord, and connect with another benefic, Jupiter. We see this tension between war and peace highlighted by the Aries and Libra axis, and the Moon brings this to the forefront of our conversations. The Moon with Jupiter encourages confrontation within our communication, and brings a certain level of optimism for Thursday. This is probably going to be a day of receiving some important news, communication, and talk of relationships and initiating curiosity. This is a great day for writing, sending out important emails, texts, and anything relating to numbers, accounting, words, reading, speaking, and communicating.
Friday, Oct 14th
[2:20 AM ET] Venus in Libra trine Saturn Retrograde at 18º39’ Libra
[1:32 PM ET] The Moon in Gemini trine Saturn Retrograde at 18º38’ Aquarius
[2:51 PM ET] The Moon in Gemini trine Venus at 19º18’ Libra
[7:23 PM ET] The Moon in Gemini trine the Sun at 21º35’ Libra
[10:45 PM ET] The Moon in Gemini square Neptune Retrograde at 23º17’ Pisces
On Friday, Venus’s day. Venus makes a trine to Saturn which solidifies an agreement, commitment, and bring balance to any binds, constrictions, and boundaries Saturn has set in place. The Moon will make a trine to both Saturn and Venus which emphasizes the shifting or changing nature of this agreement. There is a lot of smoothness in the flow of energy for Friday as trines are being made everywhere. A trine to Saturn makes things serious and somber, emphasizing slowness and deliberation of the mind, restraint, and hiding one’s thoughts. Then the trine to Venus emphasizes sociability, likability, and ease in communication and relating to others. This is a great time to enter into important contracts, agreements, and make commitments as Venus emphasizes the willingness to uphold fairness and equal part in the agreement. It brings people together in harmony. Our sense of fairness and justice can harmonize and bring balance to what is considered the standard and the rules. Venus initiates change and initiates action towards justice and repair in Libra, even though she is combust, she does this behind the scenes, in private. Venus is able to bring ease with social situations, relationships, and communication. The Moon will then make a really nice trine to the Sun in Libra which allows for recognition, acknowledgement, and a moment of harmony between the luminaries in the sky. Agreement between the luminaries is always a good time. Our spirit, will, and intentions as well as our circumstances are in alignment. This is a moment where we are able to be seen and understood by others through our conversation and communicating our feelings with others. The Moon waning in this trine to the Sun brings revelations about changes in knowledge and understanding about our partnerships for the week, and brainstorming the choices and decisions we must make when the Moon conjoins Mars.
Saturday, Oct 15th
[12:10 AM ET] The Moon conjoins Mars at 24º00’ Gemini
[12:10 PM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Cancer
[2:42 PM ET] The Moon in Cancer square Jupiter Retrograde at 01º16’ Aries
On Saturday, the Moon will conjoin Mars which initiates conflict, fighting, competition, and unrest. Anytime the Moon is with Mars, it is a time of feeling restless, aggression, and it spurs action inside of us. Mars is a fiery planet, and it ignites our words, inflames our speech, and brings accidents, cuts, severing of ties, and a sense of urgency. This will be the last time the Moon will conjoin Mars while Mars is Direct, so in many ways, this conjunction and the transit of the Moon through Gemini sets up what the Retrograde will be like (it stations Retrograde and starts moving backwards through the zodiac on October 30th. There are disputes in information, contradictions, and choices that must be made, and the Moon and Mars in the Mutable Air sign show us the changeable and inconsistent nature with our decisions. Talks about fighting, about war, about violence, and how to address the prolonged issues Mars brings in Gemini. Disruptions and interruptions in communication are a big one, but also cutting off communication, cutting off transportation, travel, and learning. Mars shows access to these things is cut off, severed, or disconnect. This rough experience with Mars brings the Moon back home into Cancer, seeking nourishment, support, and safety after running in with danger. The Moon enters the Watery sign of Cancer, which brings empathy, compassion, and agreeability. The Moon gives form and physicality to all spirit and all life, and provides us with a nice shell, home, a space that is protective and safe space. The Moon is at home and has resources and support to make us feel protected, comforted, and safe. The Moon connects with Jupiter in Aries, which can bring tension with our faith, with oaths, vows, and perspective. Jupiter in Aries seeks to expand our perspective through dreams, divination, astrology, religion, scripture, and thinking about how we can take initiative to create comfort, to create safety, and what actions prevent us from achieving that. The Moon squaring Jupiter shows tension and conflict between the planets, our impulses and drive to expand and take initiative is contrasted with pushing outside our shell and into newness. Jupiter can help to remove limitations and restrictions that prevent us from feeling safe. It can also bring into question morals in relationship to safety and protection, since Jupiter is the planet of ethics, righteousness, and doing the ethical thing for others. Feeling overwhelmed by passion and our emotions can definitely be the vibe towards the end of the day, however Jupiter is a benefic planet, so it does have the opportunity to support us. The truth, honesty, and forming trust between others is the goal towards the end of the day.
Sunday, Oct 16th
[3:18 AM ET] The Moon in Cancer square Mercury at 07º31’ Libra
The Moon will be moving through Cancer throughout all of Sunday and its #LazySunday. The Moon will square Mercury which brings communication, knowledge, learning, studying, words, speaking, and writing to the forefront of our minds. The Moon would’ve been separating from a square to Jupiter in Aries, which takes these desires to expand and grow things, create a vision, a goal, and aspiration. However, Mercury asks us to be more intentional about the details, the specifics, and the data. Mercury can make us feel mentally stressed out and pulled out of our comfort zone, and so the Moon must ride the waves of our wavering mind. The Moon won’t be connecting with any planets after it squares Mercury, but it will be very slow conjoining its Apogee, so it does slow the vibe down for the weekend. The Moon highlights the Jupiter/Mercury opposition, and it gets us to talk about our feelings, where we feel unbalanced, how we are moved by injustice, where we feel we need to take action and go towards defense. Cancer initiates the Water element, which creates protection, initiates a space to feel, to express emotions, and to talk it out. Conversations and talking it out is the theme of Sunday, and it may help you find more clarity on what decisions to make when our sense of security is tugged with the corruption of ethics with Jupiter Retrograde, and communication about diplomacy, balance, and fairness. The three Cardinal Signs, Aries, Cancer, and Libra are highlighted this weekend, and add speed and initiating energy to the end of the week.
