Week 37: September 2022 Week 3, The Week Ahead Horoscope
Mars makes an overcoming square to Venus this week. Portending for conflict, contest, and challenges within love + relationships. Mercury Retrograde opposes Jupiter, AGAIN.
Introduction
Monday, Sept 12th
[1:25 PM ET] The Moon in Aries sextile Saturn Retrograde at 19º52’ Aquarius
To start off the week, the Moon is coming down from the Full Moon in Pisces right after Mercury stationed Retrograde. On Monday, the Moon is separating from a sextile to Mars and applying to a sextile to Saturn. The Moon connecting with its domicile lord, and then applying to Saturn looks like dealing with old matters, elders, and seeking some support from them. The Moon and Saturn are in agreement with each other, but the Moon is also closing together the trine ongoing between Mars and Saturn. This is a moment where we are able to sustain our action and find structure that can give us more stability. Saturn is Retrograde so there is this element of rethinking what support systems you’re relying on. There is a seriousness to the day whenever Saturn is in aspect, and a slowness. Its a good day to meditate on your actions and be intention about plans moving forward. This is a marathon, not a sprint. We become aware of restraints, limits, and restrictions.
Tuesday, Sept 13th
[12:52 AM ET] The Moon in Aries square Pluto Retrograde at 26º16’ Capricorn
[7:39 AM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Taurus
On Tuesday, the Moon will be getting ready to exit out of Aries, but before it does that it meets a square to Pluto. After becoming aware of what limits & restrictions stand in our way with the Moon separating from Saturn, we find ourselves challenging them and caught in between interesting power dynamics. Pluto overcoming the Moon can bring up deep emotions wounds, pain, and trauma to the surface for us to examine. We find ourselves victorious in the fight and strife as the Moon enters Taurus, the sign of their exaltation, and becomes elevated, uplifted, and supported in their endeavors of bringing comfort, nourishment, and care. The Moon will get to the single degree of exaltation 2º-2º59’, where Abu Ma’shar claims that this is where the planet’s qualities are the most exaggerated. The Moon is a planet of revelation, serenity, omens, emotions, food, and sustenance. The Moon as the giver of forms takes the influences from the celestial sphere and materializes their influences through the elements of the Earth. The Moon in Taurus is a call to get in touch with our senses and to slow things down.
Wednesday, Sept 14th
[4:41 AM ET] The Moon in Taurus trine Venus at 11º23’ Virgo
[10:48 AM ET] The Moon conjoins the North Node at 14º38’ Taurus.
[6:33 PM ET] The Moon conjoins Uranus at 18º44’ Taurus
[8:29 PM ET] The Moon in Taurus square Saturn Retrograde at 19º44’ Aquarius
On Wednesday, it is the first Mercury day with Mercury Retrograde. We will typically get 3-4 Wednesdays while Mercury is Retrograde so this will be our first. The Moon is in Taurus and it makes a beautiful trine to its domicile lord, Venus who is in Virgo. Venus is said to be Fallen in Virgo, but the Moon is giving its nature from Taurus to Venus who is not supported in bringing about the things it represents. Venus wants to enjoy themselves, get in touch with the senses, since, dance, and fall in love, but there is an element of worry or doubt that she encounters here due to Mercury. The Moon giving the nature of Taurus, which is Venus’s domicile, to Venus shows some support and alleviation from worry and things that detract from our ability to experience joy and pleasure. Venus by this point has crossed into the bounds of Virgo where she is in her own part of Virgo, also crossing into her own Decan. Venus is able to applying the technique, precision, and embodiment of craft and learning for creative pursuits today. It is great for writing, creating art, music, dancing, singing, resting, leisure, and love. Venus definitely needs this help as it is applying to square Mars in Gemini. However, the Moon cannot witness Mars. The Moon will then move closer to conjoined the North Node, where it will now find itself ascending and increasing in latitude. The Moon will find its comfort taken and siphoned by the North Node, creating more desire for slowness, not feeling like you have enough rest, and extremely lethargic. The Moon moves through a really rough zone in Taurus since it will now be applying to conjoin Uranus in Taurus. This brings lot of disruption, upheaval, and tension for breakthroughs, change, and surprise, especially when it comes to old matters, stability, structure, and foundations since the next aspect will be a square to Saturn in Aquarius. The Moon makes this square to Saturn every month, and it is particularly important because Saturn and the Moon are both in zodiac signs they find dignity or strength in. The Moon desires comfort and Aquarius desires conformity, and the tension between these two concepts can be felt in our life. It makes things slow, serious, stubborn, and fixed for the day. The Moon and Saturn are strong in their ability to bring about the things they represent, and they have no incentive to compromise. Saturn in the overcoming position makes us aware of restrictions, limits, and blockages that prevent us or restrict our sense of comfort. This aspect can also put a lot of stress or strain on the body, so make sure to stretch and not be so stiff and tense. The Moon activates the Saturn/Uranus square that is getting closer as we move through September. This same theme of disruption with infrastructure that we saw throughout 2021 comes to a climax for the fourth time on Oct 4th, 2022. An example is the way infrastructures in Pakistan have left the country a third of the way flooded, Uranus in Taurus brings major instability with resources because structures, corporations, and governments (Saturn) have not been taking measure to prevent more extreme climate crises from occurring. We also see this in Jackson, Mississippi, where there is no clean water for the foreseeable future, and lack of support from the US government. The Moon in Taurus highlights these issues of our access to things that provide us nourishment, support, and security, currently being challenged by Saturn. The duration of these challenges will be felt throughout the remainder of Saturn in Aquarius and we will see changes and shifting in power as Saturn moves into Mutable Pisces on March 7th, 2023. Mourning, death, loss, feeling overcome by burdens, exhaustion, and needing to stop or rest can feel like the vibe towards the end of the day.
Thursday, Sept 15th
[1:30 AM ET] The Moon in Taurus trine the Sun at 22º22’ Virgo
[4:16 PM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Gemini
Right after midnight on Thursday ET, the Moon in Taurus will be separating from a stubborn and tense square from Saturn, and it will be moving towards a trine with the Sun in Virgo. This trine can feel like a nice balm of recognition and being seen or affirmed in something after feeling like things are obscured, hidden, or you don’t understand something because of Saturn. Saturn tends to make things hidden while the Sun shines light. After having time to reflect in the depths of Saturn, we come to see the light at the end of the tunnel on Thursday. This is great for gaining clarity, insight, and praise from others. The trine between the Sun and the Moon brings more clarity and understanding from the Full Moon last week, since this will be the first time the Sun and the Moon see each other since their opposition. The Moon will then move through Taurus throughout all of Thursday, enjoying a nap, some sweets, and relaxation. Later inn the afternoon it will ingress into Gemini.
Friday, Sept 16th
[2:13 AM ET] The Moon in Gemini sextile Jupiter Retrograde at 05º05’ Aries
[5:35 AM ET] The Moon in Gemini trine Mercury Retrograde at 06º48’ Libra
[2:48 PM ET] Venus in Virgo square Mars at 14º23’ Gemini
[6:20 PM ET] The Sun in Virgo opposes Neptune at 24º01’ Pisces
[8:51 PM ET] The Moon conjoins Mars at 14º30’ Gemini
[9:18 PM ET] The Moon in Gemini square Venus at 14º43’ Virgo
On Friday, we deal with the fullness of the Moon in Gemini, in an Air sign, it brings social gatherings to our focus for the day. The Moon in an Air sign talks about communication, knowledge, information, and social awareness. In a mutable sign, there are lots of changes and fluctuations that are introduced to our day. You know how Gemini is, our brains are everywhere all the time. Gemini is ruled by Mercury, so the theme really is about communication. There is a lot of friction and tension in the air today as the Moon is going to conjoin Mars later today, but there are quite a few other aspects also taking place today. Mercury Retrograde is the ruler of the Moon, and typically in electional astrology, the Moon shows the current circumstances and the ruler of the Moon will indicate the outcome or result. In this case, the Moon in Gemini co-present with Mars in Gemini highlights our need to be more forthright and direct in communication, swiftness is emphasized especially with Mars here, wanting to go fast and seeking thrill. However, we might find that creating more verbal or social tension will create more problems and miscommunications since Mars and the Moon are both ruled by Mercury Retrograde. One factor to consider about this conjunction is that it does bring physical harm and injury, so be careful with driving, commuting, and traveling, speeding can lead to accidents with Mars in Gemini. This could also bring injury to the fingers or to the head, because of Gemini and Mars. This will come later in the night, but to start off the Moon in Gemini makes a sextile to Jupiter in Aries, who is in the 11th (rejoicing) position from the Moon. It looks like gaining support and favor from a friend and someone who desires to help you out. The Moon will then make a trine to its domicile lord, Mercury currently Retrograding in Libra. This is a moment we receiving some revelation and clarity about the source of what has been inflaming our thoughts and making us feel excluded or left out and have to revisit certain relationships & partnerships: Mars. This is because right after the Moon trines Mercury, Venus will perfect her square to Mars.
Venus in this square does not have the upper hand because she is being overcome by a square from Mars in Gemini, who is earlier in zodiacal order making the superior square. The nature of the square carries the energy of Mars, and Mars is the planet who’s making the aspect to Venus. Mars is the principle of fighting, challenging, and competition, whereas Venus represents relationships, agreements, and reconciliation. The issues of Mars weigh down heavily upon Venus, and Venus is not supported in wanting to bring about the things she represents because she is in the sign of her Fall. Mars overcoming Venus shows division in friendships, challenges in love, excess of selfishness, and lack of consideration for others than the self. This could be a moment where tension has reached a peak in certain relationship dynamics, and there’s a lot of criticism and debate that causes Venus to feel excluded & attacked. Where Venus seeks to unify, Mars seeks to separate. The Moon is especially highlighting this aspect as it conjoins Mars, bringing fights, contests, contention, and conflict. This is definitely a test of holding your tongue since Mercury is Retrograde, and Mars is currently slowing down. This will also be first time the Moon and Mars conjoined since Mars has entered Gemini, so many conflicts and challenges that begin will start today, especially with this aspect of Mars and Venus going exact. Mars really wants us to make important choices and what ties we should stay with and those which we should severe with. Mars is going to keep it pushing and keep moving forward through the zodiac. Mars will realize that eventually that won’t work, because it will station Retrograde next month and have to revisit the setbacks Mercury gave them. This tension shows us a clear split and challenges within relationships and partnerships with others, and sometimes it might be due to a misunderstanding. Communicate before jumping to attack or rush to a fight. Mercury is Retrograde. Don’t work against your own better judgement even if it feels good or gratifying in the moment. Mars will usually indicate instant gratification or satisfaction, and Mars is getting ready to close a trine with Saturn in Aquarius, who wants to slow and delay Mars. Jumping to conclusions without communication will not help you today. Use your words to go deeper in understanding, not to create division and conflict (unless that is what you want to do that by all means, I can’t stop you). The Sun will be opposing Neptune today too, so there is an element of confusion, deception, and illusion that is being contrasted with facts, details, and information not making since with the abundance of Mercurial energy today. Don’t stress and hyper-fixate on the chaos too much, it will drive you more insane. Fridays are ruled by Venus and the Night of Friday is ruled by Mars, their square off tonight definitely brings the drama.
Saturday, Sept 17th
[7:03 AM ET] The Moon in Gemini trine Saturn Retrograde at 19º36’ Aquarius
[3:53 PM ET] The Moon in Gemini square Neptune Retrograde at 24º00’ Pisces
[5:51 PM ET] The Moon in Gemini square the Sun at 24º59’ Virgo
After the really interesting Friday night, the Moon will then make a trine to Saturn in Aquarius early in the morning. This provides us with an opportunity to slow down and take pause after Mars had us quite riled up on Friday. Saturn makes us aware of the things we do not know, secrets, hidden things, and old matters. We might recieve or find wisdom from reflecting and contemplating on the past. Things might start to feel confusing and hazy as the Moon will then make a square to Neptune, which can have us in a blur throughout most of the middle portion of the day. The Moon will finally make a square to the Sun, marking the final quarter of the Moon phase where all this energy is able to be released. The Moon and Sun in a square always shows a day of conflict, strife, and contention between our will and the external circumstances. Since the Moon is in the overcoming position, we see that our circumstances and the situations washing over us currently show us where this tension lies. Most of it is mental energy and tension, since both the Sun and Moon are in Gemini/Virgo. The Moon highlights Mars and its strife, and the Sun highlights Venus feeling exiled and left out. We might feel ourselves loosing more energy and excitement as the Moon starts to shed herself of all the light she has accumulated since the Full Moon. Make sure you're centering your mind and listening your thoughts, Mercury is Retrograde, as the ruler of both luminaries, so it is important to reflect, revise, and rethink your ideas with a critical but compassionate approach. Criticism is not cruel, it is uplifting and inspiring.
Sunday, Sept 18th
[3:59 AM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Cancer
[1:37 PM ET] The Moon in Cancer square Jupiter Retrograde at 04º46’ Aries
[1:56 PM ET] The Moon in Cancer square Mercury Retrograde at 04º55’ Libra
[6:33 PM ET] Mercury Retrograde in Libra opposes Jupiter Retrograde at 04º44’ Aries
[11:57 PM ET] The Sun in Virgo trine Pluto Retrograde at 26º12’ Capricorn
On Sunday Morning, the Moon enters Cancer, her home sign, a Cardinal Water Sign, which gets us in touch with our feelings, emotions, and sensations early in the morning. The Moon desires comfort, nourishment, and security, and wants to feel secure, stable, and protect what is cares for. The Moon in a Cardinal Sign picks up the energy for the mid-weekend, and pushes it in one direction, towards Jupiter. The Moon in Cancer will highlight the current Mercury/Jupiter opposition which actually takes place today. This will be the second out of three times that Mercury and Jupiter will have their opposition. The first exact transit was Sept 2nd, again today, and finally Oct 12th, 2022. This tension between Mercury and Jupiter looks like the tension between doubt and dreams. Aspirations and reality. Mercury wants us to look at the details of our dreams, visions, goals, and the source of our optimism, and a little Retrograde Mercury shows us where the contradiction is. These oppositions are good for exploring contradiction within relationships, partnerships, and agreements (in Libra). Jupiter in Aries gave us the introduction of new beginnings, and it provides us with momentum to take leadership, initiative, and to expand in the house Aries rules in our chart. Jupiter wants to remove limitations, but it is currently reflecting and thinking about the spiritual fulfillment behind their actions, plans, and goals. Jupiter has been Retrograde since July 28th, and Mercury today comes to catch up with Jupiter and review, reflect, and revise our ideas about justice, law, fairness, equality, balance, action, and all things Libra/Aries. The Moon being in the tension point of this opposition, able to square both planets, shows that our needs for comfort, nourishment, and support are being highlighted in our revision process. Maybe we need to redefine the what our relationship to care us, what are the ideas we’ve been taught about care and nourishment? Where are their contradictions within our learning? Mercury opposing Jupiter today definitely makes our mind abundent with ideas, and its a really good aspect for making long term plans for growth, expansion, and to remove obstacles out of your way. The Moon balancing this tension between Mercury and Jupiter shows us that care, compassion, and being fluid, flexible, and not rigid can help us in communicating our dreams, visions, and goals with others. Sunday brings lots of conversation and lots to reflect on and look back at. Open your heart and others shall do the same. Time to cry it out and release all your emotions. Crying is good for you. It allows you to release and let go of what has been stored up emotionally inside of you. Crying is necessary. Crying is normal. Crying is a bodily function. Crying allows you to acknowledge your stressors and what is inflaming your emotional system. Let is go, and let it flow.
