Week 36: September 2022 Week 2, The Week Ahead Horoscope
Mercury has a change of heart. Incoming Retrograde.
Introduction
Monday, Sept 5th
[12:05 AM ET] INGRESS: Venus enters Virgo
[8:44 AM ET] The Moon in Capricorn square Jupiter Retrograde at 06º23’ Aries
[11:21 AM ET] The Moon in Capricorn square Mercury at 07º57’ Libra
[8:24 PM ET] The Moon in Capricorn trine the Sun at 13º25’ Virgo
To begin the week, Venus leaves Leo and enters Virgo. This shift for Venus brings a shift in how we deal and relate to others this week. Venus is a relational planet and talks about how energy is balanced and distributed. Venus is typically said to be Depressed in Virgo, which is the opposite sign of its Exaltation in Pisces, where the planet is elevated and praised for the actions it does. When a planet is depressed, there are connotations with it being unhappy, repressed, and experiencing disappointment relative to its environment. Venus is typically a planet of love, peace-making, diplomacy, beauty, desires and what we are attracted to, and when Venus is Fallen, we find disappointment with these topics. Some Ancient Astrologers claim that Venus is not that harmed by her Fall in Virgo since Virgo signifies similar things to what Venus signifies, but there is a section of Virgo where Venus’ Fall is completely negated (10-17º Virgo, it has +2 Dignity by Term, +3 Dignity by Triplicity, +1 Dignity by Decan, Fall takes away -4 dignity, together this all adds up to +2 Dignity total). In Virgo, Venus finds difficulty and challenges in being able to be social, give affection, and deal with attraction because of doubt, worry, and anxiety from Mercury. Venus’s transit through Virgo this time around is going to be rocky because Venus will enter The Beams of the Sun and will receiving an overcoming square from Mars. Both Mars and the Sun are Hot + Dry planets, so there is a specific emphasis on the dryness, and evaporating moisture out of our interpersonal relationships. Feeling socially overwhelmed or even overstimulated can be an experience we have. Venus gives us an opportunity to sort out our stressors and what brings us pleasure. Venus in Virgo will be applying to an overcoming square from Mars all week, and on top of the challenges and struggles Venus is facing with love, Mars brings more friction, aggression, and selfishness in our relationships. Critical in love is the theme, but make sure you’re not nit picking until there isn’t any love left. Criticisms, recklessness, and lack of consideration for how your words effect others will prompt separations, heartbreak, and the severing of ties. This aspect of Mars overcoming Venus is an indicator of breakups in relationships. The binding force of Venus, through her Wet quality, is dried out by Virgo, The Sun, and Mars together. Only compromise, adaptability, and willingness to change will allow things to smooth over. Mars in Gemini wants to fight, ask yourself if it is worth it if it means hurting the relationships you have with others? This transit sets the vibe for this week and next week.
The Moon makes a square to Jupiter early in the morning, and it brings an impulse to make friendship, good news, revelations, and feeling recognized and seen. There is an element of public favor or attention since the Moon is in the 10th sign, in an overcoming square, to Jupiter. The Moon is going to square Mercury next, who is about to station Retrograde this week, and it really highlights this tension in the Mercury/Jupiter opposition of facts, details, and contradiction versus truth, honesty, and the big picture. The Moon entering into a Cardinal Sign gives us an impulse to take action and quickens the nature of this aspect. The Moon wants us to get grounded by looking at the past, old things, and talking to our elders. When we feel polarized in trusting our information, the Moon asks us to look deeper beneath the surface and discover the secrets, the hidden, the occult. Capricorn is a sign connected to the occult and hidden things due to its connection to Mars. Being ruled by Saturn, there is a somber and serious vibe to the Moon for the next few days. A clear mind is needed to properly assess the facts and details. The Moon will make a beautiful trine to the Sun in Virgo which brings recognition, achievement, success. The Moon and the Sun are in agreement today, which is a great day for receiving knowledge, insight from the divine, and being seen, understood, and recognized.
Tuesday, Sept 6th
[5:42 PM ET] The Moon conjoins Pluto Retrograde at 26º21’ Capricorn
[11:41 PM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Aquarius
On Tuesday, the Moon will be separating from a trine to the Sun all through Monday night into most of Tuesday. The Sun is in the 9th position from the Moon, so this phase of the Moon always correlates with insight, receiving knowledge, wisdom, especially since the Sun rejoices in the 9th house. However, the Moon will be making a conjunction to Pluto through the entire day too, representing our fears, buried feelings, secrets, and shadows all come to the surface and we’re able to shine light and get grounded in the things that we have had buried beneath us. Being able to find out secrets or hidden information is the theme. The Moon will then enter Aquarius by the end of the day. It feels kind of rough, grounded, and tired. This is the day to look at your shadow, and work with the roots, the underworld, and your fears.
Wednesday, Sept 7th
[9:44 AM ET] The Moon in Aquarius sextile Jupiter Retrograde at 06º09’ Aries
[1:47 PM ET] The Moon in Aquarius trine Mercury at 08º38’ Libra
[4:12 PM ET] The Moon in Aquarius trine Mars at 10º07’ Gemini
The Moon enters Aquarius, which changes the vibe throughout the middle of the week. The Moon enters a Fixed Sign which brings a more fixed and rigid approach to the day. Needing to stabilize and find grounding in our thoughts and ideas is the theme of this Aquarius Moon. This Moon in Aquarius will provide us with a lot of social clarity and awareness since it will make a Grand Air Trine with Mercury in Libra and Mars in Gemini. The Moon highlights the relationship currently brewing between Mercury and Mars. Typically this would talk about cunning words, actions, motivations, and intentions. Mars is able to ignite and inflame Mercury pretty easily. Typically Mercury and Mars are scheming together in this trine aspect, but on Sept 9th, Mercury will station Retrograde and revoke its aspect to Mars. This is a moment where we start to see some delay, blockage, or boundary start to be introduced since the Moon will be applying to a conjunction with Saturn throughout the majority of this transit. We start to notice delays, limits, and the Moon gives us a good outlet to communicate about these things. Mercury receiving an overcoming trine from Mars in this instance can look like lies, slander, and twisting facts & information. There is a skillfulness and cunningness to the craft of being able to fabricate stories. Look for the contradictions in the truth. The Moon sextiles Jupiter so there is some support and aid we are able to find to help us discern what relationships are not looking so stable currently. This Wednesday will also be the last Wednesday that Mercury will be Direct for the month of September, so enjoy this moment of pause and clarity of what needs to be changed and worked around.
Thursday, Sept 8th
[6:25 AM ET] The Moon in Aquarius square Uranus Retrograde at 18º49 Taurus
[8:33 AM ET] The Moon conjoins Saturn at 20º08’ Aquarius
On Thursday, the Moon will make a square to Uranus, which brings disruption, volatility, and the unexpected into our life early in the morning ET on Sept 8th. Giving us unexpected shakeups and disruptions in infrastructure, foundation, stability, & all things Saturnian. This Moon in Aquarius transit is going to be particularly important because the conjunction with Saturn will start to plant seeds for this new beginning of issues with the Saturn/Uranus square that will be moving closer and closer towards exactness until October 4th. The Moon is also the ruler of physical body and form, and when conjoining Saturn, it can indicate harm or misfortune that is brought towards the body, from coldness and dryness in particular. It causes illness and injury, especially towards the legs and ankles (Aquarius is the ankles). Saturn indicates obstacles and barriers, so we might feel delayed, troubled, and somber for today. Anytime Saturn has governance and is the lord of the day, it is a time of rest, pause, and deepening understanding. Saturn is said to bring a much more serious vibe, and can sometimes bring up fear as a major topic to. Either we are confronted with fear or are terrified. This emphasis comes from Saturn, and it can make us freeze up. The Moon conjoining Saturn can show freezing or immobility in the physical body since Saturn restricts or inhibits the will. We become very aware of the limits, boundaries, constraints, and may have to take agency to set these things as well too.
Friday, Sept 9th
[12:42 AM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Pisces
[9:39 AM ET] The Moon in Pisces opposes Venus at 05º26’ Virgo
[7:07 PM ET] The Moon in Pisces square Mars at 11º10’ Gemini
[11:38 PM ET] STATION: Mercury stations Retrograde at 08º55’ Libra
On Friday, the Moon will leave Aquarius, and enters the watery, mutable sign Pisces. The Moon’s ingress into a Water signs brings more attention and focus towards our emotions, our feelings, and being immersed in sensation. The Moon enters a Mutable Sign, which brings fluctuation and change, as is the theme for September: Mutable Madness. This Pisces Moon is a Full Moon where the Moon will be the fullest and brightest of light she can possibly be, contending and challenging the Sun, bringing revelations and something to a full culmination in the house Pisces rules in your chart. This Full Moon highlights the changing and shifting nature of our dreams, ideals, and passions. Pisces ruled by Jupiter deals with themes of faith, devotion, trust and love. Its a full moon that focuses and centers our devotion and relationships to each other. Love is something governed by Pisces, but love that is devotional, passionate, and filled with trust. This is why Venus exalts in Pisces. Venus is especially highlighted for this Full Moon since she opposes the lunation, but she is fallen in Virgo, and it shows how there might be some anxiety, doubt, or worry about love, passions, and desires. Pisces is a sign that talks about selflessness, the loss of the ego, and the merging of the souls. When we look at Venus, we see she is actually in an overcoming square to Mars, and this Full Moon highlights this tension between them. A Venus who is being repressed, by anxiety, worry, & doubt and Mars is the one providing information that is causing Venus to stress out. There is an element of receptiveness to this information because Mars is in the overcoming position to Mercury, and Mercury is the lord of Venus. However, Mars can show coerciveness, force, wrath, slander, and lies especially in this position. This could potentially create separation and division within relationships and partnerships. We can see the power dynamics in relationships, and who is instigating fights and arguments. Things come to a full climax and it brings a tremendous outpouring of our emotions. The feelings we have been yearning to express of disappointment, discontent, and worry are able to be outpoured today.
Also taking place today is Mercury stationing Retrograde at 8º Libra. Mercury will be stationary for most of the week, and this slowing down of Mercury introduces delays, stagnation, and blockages from moving forward. Mercury is a planet of information, communication, and knowledge and Mercury will have to go back and re-analyze, re-evaluate, and re-asses our understanding of relationships and their dynamics, since this Retrograde in Libra. The most important part about this Retrograde is the fact that Mercury is choosing to revoke its aspect from Mars.
Revoking: When Planet A is making an application to Planet B, but before the aspect perfect in the number of degrees, arc minutes, and arc seconds, Planet A stations Retrograde and the aspect that was forming fizzles out and delays are introduced that prevent the situation from moving forward. The Islamic Astrologers understood this as نكث. As a verb, it has connotations of breaking a promise, violating an obligation, and disloyalty to an agreement. When you take an oath to someone, or make a promise and you don’t fulfill what was expected: this is the type of scenario that is being depicted. As a result, there is some sort of withdrawal or retreat happening, like someone is cancelling or repealing a decision they made previously.. There is also an element of disloyalty and betrayal to this situation. As a noun, it has connotations of things untwisting or unravelling, like the knots that tie people together, being unravelled and disconnected and severed.
The main emphasis of this type of circumstance between the planets is that there is a change of heart, and Mercury is having a change of heart this time. It’s interesting to think about Mercury and Mars's relationship over the past year, because they made their 3 conjunctions on August 19th, October 9th, and Nov 10th, 2021, and its almost like Mercury is going back on their word to help Mars in their malice and create harm with words, speech, news, letters, and communication. We saw these conjunctions in Virgo, Libra, and Scorpio last year, and this year Mercury’s final Retrograde in Libra will be about revoking its aspect to Mars in Gemini.
It’s interesting because Mars and Mercury will have a similar experience again in August/September of 2023 where Mercury and Mars will be in Virgo and Mercury revokes it’s aspects. It’s almost like whatever agreements Mercury made in 2021 it will be in the process of undoing not only during this Retrograde but also in 2023.
For Friday, the day of Venus, and the Night of Mars this day is a day of contention and strife on all fronts.
Saturday, Sept 10th
[5:59 AM ET] LUNATION: Full Moon at 17º41’ Pisces
[4:55 PM ET] The Moon conjoins Neptune at 24º11’ Pisces
On Saturday, the Full Moon will go exact in Pisces, carrying the chaotic energy of Friday into the morning on Saturday. The only aspect the Moon will be making in this sign is a conjunction to Neptune, which brings illusions, dreams, imagination, false realities, and projections to the forefront of our focus. Things feel a little hazy, and we might get caught in the riptide. Think about the things that cloud your ability to find peace, joy, and content. Where are you not challenging or being discerning of information enough? Neptune is like an undercurrent, and the Moon makes this very active. Neptune is the mystery deep in the ocean, and we are called to explore that mystery. Plunging deep. Don’t get too lost. The Moon in Pisces can be quick to make decisions, and fluctuate, as it is a mutable sign. The purpose of today may be to relax after a stressful Friday.
Sunday, Sept 11th
[2:47 AM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Aries
[9:09 AM ET] The Sun in Virgo trines Uranus at 18º47’ Gemini
[12:30 PM ET] The Moon conjoins Jupiter at 05º39’ Aries
[5:52 PM ET] The Moon in Aries opposes Mercury Retrograde at 08º45’ Libra
[11:56 PM ET] The Moon in Aries sextile Mars at 12º14’ Gemini
On Sunday, the Moon enters Aries which changes the vibe mid-weekend. The Moon enters a Cardinal sign which gives us more initiating energy & quickens the pace of things. Aries gives us more impulsive energy, especially as the Moon conjoins Jupiter. The Moon conjoining Jupiter is always a supportive and cheerful day. Jupiter gives collective triumph, success in friendship, group projects, divination, astrology, learning, teaching, sharing knowledge, and finding joy for the day. The Moon will be highlighting the current opposition thats been happening between Mercury and Jupiter, but from Jupiter’s perspective. This brings a contrast to a few weeks ago when the Moon conjoined Mercury in Libra just after the New Moon in Virgo, bringing an introduction of news that would eventually need to be reviewed. In my opinion this introduction of new trickery and contradiction is what the Moon was introducing. The running theme this week is contradiction in the truth, in justice, and in law. The Moon and Jupiter shows some sort of revelation and understanding of what action must be taken in settling these matters. We find some assistance and support in being able to remove the obstacle and barriers that have been set ahead for us. This is a moment of developing faith, trust, and honesty between others. Seeking the truth is the theme of today. It motivates us to take action and specifically speak up and say something since the Moon connects with its domicile lord, which is Mars in Gemini, ruled by Mercury who is now Retrograde. It definitely spurs us to take action, but holding your tongue and thinking before you say things is advised during Mercury Retrograde. It might be best so hold your thoughts back. Quick actions and impulsiveness is abound today.
