Introduction
Monday, Aug 29th
[5:44 AM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Libra
[12:10 PM ET] The Moon conjoins Mercury at 03º25’ Libra
[3:49 PM ET] The Moon in Libra trines Mars at 05º22’ Gemini
[6:59 PM ET] The Moon in Libra opposes Jupiter Retrograde at 07º04’ Aries
On Monday morning, the Moon ingressed into Libra after being renewed with energy, urgency, the need to take action, and is full of ideas with the New Moon in Virgo. The Moon will be waxing through the zodiac this week, and her entrance into Libra gives us a glimpse into the upcoming relevance of this sign’s need for diplomacy, balance, justice, fairness, and reconciliation. Mercury will highlight these needs as it is also in the sign of Libra and will station Retrograde here next week. The Moon is emerging from beneath the rays of the Sun, and delivers new life to circumstance initiated by the New Moon with an old fashioned letter from Mercury. Monday is a day for learning, studying, getting news, communication, writing, talking, and doing all of the Mercurial activities, since the Moon conjoins Mercury. They’re both situated in a Cardinal Sign, which hastens the action of these planets. Quick and fast news is the theme for today. Especially around relationships, boundaries, and how energy is reciprocated between people. Mercury and Mars are applying towards a very interesting trine now that Mercury has entered an Air Sign, and being in the overcoming position to Mercury, Mars issues are being given to Mercury. Quickness in speech, inflammation, stirring up passions, and inciting urgency are things Mars in Gemini does well. Mars as a planet of fighting and action gives us an opportunity to engage in verbal combat on Monday. The Moon makes a trine to Mars shortly after, and this trine is able to connect the light from Mercury to Mars since even though they are applying in aspect, it will never go exact because Mercury will station Retrograde before the aspect happens. This is known as a Revocation where Mercury is revoking or retracting its application to Mars, since it stations Retrograde before the aspect perfects. In matters of conflict, fighting, and particularly how communication, news, or information is involved, we may see the formation of verbal arguments or challenges around relationship dynamics. Mars in Gemini making this overcoming trine to Mercury can be ease of slander, ease in shit talking, and ease in using words as weapons. It’s kinda of interesting because a typical aspect between Mercury and Mars is said to make Mercury malefic when it’s with the malefics, but because Mercury is in Venus’ sign, Mercury can also have benefic intentions. When Mercury is malefic it is said to have speech and news that riles people up, whereas when it is benefic, its speech is said to pacify and calm down. So there is this contradiction where Mercury has intentions to pacify and calm our nerves, where Mars wants to provoke and rile us up. This will be one of the major connections that initiates what this Mercury Retrograde will be about, especially since the Moon will apply to oppose Jupiter in Aries after. This opposition to Jupiter is especially highlighted later this week, but it brings conflict in truth, information, and honesty. Jupiter as a planet that usually indicates taking oaths and making promises, that you can deliver, and there is some trickery to those promises that come up because Mercury will oppose Jupiter. The Moon hastens and closes their aspects together. On Monday, this opposition causes us to slow down and really think about how we want to expand or grow things in the house Aries rules in our chart. We may need to reframe and rethink our perspective, our faith is challenge, and there is contention in our ability to trust. The Moon opposing Jupiter shows we will be able to triumph over these obstacles, but not without some sort of challenge. We might find ourselves seeking guidance from Jovial figures: teachers, religious leaders, appointed leaders, friends, grandparents, astrologers, etc.
Tuesday, Aug 30th
[8:12 PM ET] The Moon in Libra trine Saturn Retrograde at 20º42’ Aquarius
On Tuesday, the only aspect for the day will be the Moon making a trine to Saturn in Aquarius. After feeling really energized and our passions magnified by Jupiter’s expansive nature, the energy of Saturn comes in to tell us to slow down and brings things back down to Earth. As the Exaltation Lord of this sign, making a trine to Saturn gives us an opportunity to practice patience, discipline, and emphasizes making fair and just choices. Saturn’s exaltation being found in Libra shows that balance and justice manifest exceptionally through the influence of Saturn. Providing structure, stability, and support, Saturn gives us an opportunity to ground our understanding and reveal hidden knowledge to us. Saturn represents consequences and forethought to see how our actions bring us the corresponding consequence, often resulting in inhibition and carefulness in decision making. If you’re deliberating on something, it would be best to wait and decide once this trine goes exact for the day. As a planet representative of delays and blockages, Saturn will bring the delay to an end.
Wednesday, Aug 31st
[2:07 AM ET] The Moon in Libra sextile Venus at 23º55’ Leo
[6:43 AM ET] The Moon in Libra square Pluto Retrograde at 26º26’ Capricorn
[1:11 PM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Scorpio
On Wednesday, the Moon will be exiting out of Libra but before that it does make a sextile to its domicile lord, Venus in Leo. This is a great moment for being honest and truthful in relationships and dealings with others. There is this contention found in Leo and Libra around the self and what is being centered, since the Sun is a star with massive gravitational force. The Sun being Depressed in Libra shows how Venus seeks balance that de-centers justice from just the self, but in the context and relationship to community and environment. However, Venus is in the sign where she’s governed and influenced by the very qualities she’s trying to suppress in her domicile: the Sun. Speak from the heart, and people will receive you. The Moon will square Pluto which is a rough exit out of Libra, and it can bring obsession, hidden motives, secrets, and hidden feelings to be unearthed. How timely for the Moon’s ingress into Scorpio.
Thursday, Sept 1st
[5:19 AM ET] The Moon in Scorpio sextile the Sun at 08º56’ Virgo
[7:51 AM ET] Mars in Gemini sextile Jupiter Retrograde at 06º49’ Aries
[5:12 PM ET] The Moon conjoins the South Node at 15º34’ Scorpio
[11:05 PM ET] The Moon in Scorpio opposes Uranus Retrograde at 18º53’ Taurus
The vibe changes throughout the week with the Moon in Scorpio and it is also September 1st. It feels surreal to think we are in SEPTEMBER of 2022. The Moon in Scorpio has us deep in our bag on Monday morning. Things feel a little depressing, grumpy, and we can definitely feel the sting of the Scorpion. Even though the Moon has entered into a sign where it doesn’t prefer to be in, it does find support from the Sun. The Moon rules the body and when the Moon is depressed, it represents challenges and pains found in the body, being malnourished, not feeling taken care of and materially supported and nourished. The Moon gives us an outlet to express and communicate these feelings with a sextile to the Sun. The ruler of the Moon today is Mars in Gemini, the first time the Moon has been in a Mars ruled sign since Mars has entered Gemini, and we begin to see this theme of Scorpio/Gemini start to come out. When I think about this combination, it makes me think of secrets and information. There is a curiosity to Gemini and there is a hidden element to Scorpio that Gemini desires to know. Secrets and withholding information and trust are things that are tested and will be tested during this time. You know Scorpios.
Mars as the ruler of Moon is also doing something important today: making a sextile to Jupiter in Aries. Mars is the ruler of Jupiter currently and this is the first time they are aspecting each other since they conjoined on May 29th, 2022 at 3º Aries. Mars and Jupiter conjoin roughly every 2 years, and they signify magnified fights, big challenges, religious conflict, challenges with law, courts, attack on justice, and corrupting the truth, honesty, and peace amongst people. Mars as a planet of conflict brings malefic experiences towards Jupiter as a benefic planet, and because this conjunction happened in Aries, which is Mars’ sign, the malice of Mars was able to triumph in this situation. This planted seeds of challenges and conflict that would be fought and have more developments over the course of the next 2 years. Today is the first time Mars and Jupiter will be able to witness each other since they conjoined. This signifies the emergence of magnified challenges and fights that would need to take place. Mars brings urgency and stresses importance, and Jupiter magnifies that. A lot of this seems to be in the context of challenges regarding health, lack of vitality, famine, and illness since the Moon is on the South Node in Scorpio. The Moon as a planet of physical vitality is dealing with a lot of stress currently, especially as larger challenges are starting to become realized with Mars/Jupiter. This is a pivotal moment in their cycle, and we will continue to see their relationship play out until 2023, because Mars will go Retrograde but will never make an exact aspect to Jupiter until Mars enters Leo in 2023 and Jupiter is in Taurus, so their story is put on pause (Retrograde…. lol) until next year after today. Speaking of Taurus though, the Moon will opposes Uranus in Taurus which brings another element of shock, disruption, and volatility to our day. Trying not to cause too much chaos or disruption to your day is recommended to try not to invite some of the chaotic energy into your life, but it is really good for a cathartic, emotional, release of deep seated pain.
Friday, Sept 2nd
[2:02 AM ET] The Moon in Scorpio square Saturn Retrograde at 20º33’ Aquarius
[1:21 PM ET] The Moon in Scorpio square Venus at 26º58’ Leo
[6:39 PM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Sagittarius
[9:49 PM ET] Mercury in Libra opposes Jupiter Retrograde at 06º39’ Aries
On Friday, the Moon in Scorpio will make a square to Saturn in Aquarius which brings physical challenges and blockages. Be careful of injury and hurting bones, ankles, and joints. Saturn can make things depressing and serious towards the beginning of the day, starting us off with another grumpy disposition. But the Moon will make a square to Venus which looks your pain and hurt being recognized and affirmed with the assistance of the Heavenly Illustrious Laughter-Loving, Queeen. Where the transit of the Scorpio Moon has been previously rough, the last aspect being a benefic shows that we leave the conditions of this sign on a positive note. We might feel unbalanced in matters of privacy/visibility, being seen/being hidden, Scorpio and Leo tend to deal with these themes. The Moon then enters Sagittarius, ruled by Jupiter, and just in time for another pivotal aspect of the week: Mercury in Libra opposing Jupiter in Aries for the first out of three times.
While Mercury is in Libra, and it does its Retrograde over the course of the next 3 weeks, it will opposes Jupiter 3 times. Today, before the Retrograde, it introduces challenges, contention, and tricks to the truth, honesty, and trust between others. Theres discrepancies in information, honesty, what is fact, what is opinion— it’s a very argumentative transit, and then throw Mercury in Libra being a significator of lawyers, this transit will give us lots to talk about. Mercury introduces conversations that will eventually need to be revisited when it stations Retrograde on September 10th (next week). It’s funny that the Moon was in Mars’s sign when Mars made an aspect, and now when Jupiter is receiving an aspect the Moon has transitioned into Jupiter’s sign. Seeking freedom, the truth, adventure and answering philosophical questions is what the Moon in Sagittarius demands. Jupiter encourages us to share our passion and share the fire with others. Sagittarius is a mutable fire sign, and it inspires us with more optimism, but we find contention because Jupiter is Retrograde. We find more answers over the weekend.
Saturday, Sept 3rd
[6:10 AM ET] The Moon in Sagittarius trine Jupiter Retrograde at 06º37’ Aries
[6:36 AM ET] The Moon in Sagittarius sextile Mercury at 06º52’ Libra
[8:22 AM ET] The Moon in Sagittarius opposes Mars at 07º53’ Gemini
[2:07 PM ET] The Moon in Sagittarius square the Sun at 11º13’ Virgo
[7:07 PM ET] RETROGRADE CYCLE: Mars enters Shadow at 08º07’ Gemini
On Saturday, the Moon makes a trine to its domicile lord, Jupiter in Aries and gets in on the action of this debate. The fire of the Sagittarius Moon gets us heated and fired up, especially as the Moon is applying to an opposition to Mars throughout the entirety of this transit. We actually start to seek conflict of truth, perspective, and opinion with facts, information, and verbal arguments. Whenever the Moon opposes Mars it is certainly a day for conflict, fights, and aggression, and we might become really enraged because of other’s ideologies or beliefs. The Moon will also make a square to the Sun in Virgo, which brings more action and push. We have to wrestle the details, numbers, and Mercury related topics with words + documents with our vision, ideals, and dreams. We may find ourselves in a state of contention and having our faith tested. This will be the first of many oppositions the Moon will make to Mars in Gemini over the course of the next 7 months. Every time the Moon is in Mutable Signs, we will feel this tension from Mars until March 2023. Mars is definitely highlighting challenges and battles that need to be fought over the Retrograde since Mars entered shadow at the end of the day, and will now be moving over the degrees of the zodiac it will eventually come to pass back over when it stations direct. Mars will return back to 8º Gemini on Jan 12th 2023, so if we assess how things are moving forward in the house Gemini rules in your chart, we would see us needing to return back to this point in the matters we’re dealing with. It is a very heated and feisty. The abundance of Earth and Fire energy brings lots of rigidity and not a lot of room for agreement and fluidity. We become aware of what challenges and distortion in facts and information has been causing harm to our sense of belief and faith.
Sunday, Sept 4th
[5:49 AM ET] The Moon in Sagittarius sextile Saturn Retrograde at 20º24’ Aquarius
[12:32 PM ET] The Moon in Sagittarius square Neptune Retrograde at 24º21’ Aquarius
[9:50 PM ET] The Moon in Sagittarius trine Venus at 29º53’ Leo
[10:02 PM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Capricorn
After the Moon came from a challenging opposition and square to Mars and the Sun, on Sunday it makes a sextile to Saturn which slows things down early in the morning and urges us to be cautious. The Moon is square Neptune which denotes confusion, haziness, and your sense of perception feeling distorted. Things definitely chill out once the Moon makes a trine to Venus in Leo, it’s the last aspect both of these planets make while they’re getting ready to leave their signs, so it’s like we find something to celebrate or laugh about even though there were lots of contention building in the middle of the week. Venus allows us to speak from the heart and to find a way to share our truth with others. Venus shows up as support from a friend, creative glamour, creative and artistic pursuits, and it is encouraged to pursue those ventures during a beautiful transit like this. The Moon will then enter Capricorn, a more stable, earthy sign, who seeks to be practical, grounded, and slow in its approach and attitude. We find ourselves need to get more serious and somber as we close out the week after the wild adventure the Sun in Virgo and Moon in Sagittarius have given us.
