Week 33: August 2022 Week 3, The Week Ahead Horoscope
Mars enters Gemini this week, marking the beginning of its 7 month long transit through this zodiac sign.
Introduction
Monday, Aug 15th
[6:59 AM ET] The Moon conjoins Jupiter Retrograde at 08º12’ Aries
Our only aspect for Monday is the Moon in Aries making a conjunction to Jupiter. This is a great moment for the week, since the Moon will be touching the Greater Benefic. Jupiter is a planet of friendship, gatherings, honesty, trust, and faith, and because Jupiter is Retrograde, it’s currently having us go through a process of deepening our faith, asking the philosophical questions, and get to the core of what it is that will lift our spirits. Jupiter’s influence is said to uplift & alleviate the sorrow & seriousness that Saturn can bring. It is an optimistic day on Monday, but with Jupiter being Retrograde, it is an optimal time to make beneficial changes in the house Aries rules. If you’re looking for favor, for friendship, for trust, to seek honesty or the truth: today is an amazing day to do that. Antiochus of Athens (1st-2nd Century AD) says that the Moon conjoining Jupiter is good for simply anything. This is a great day for forgiveness, generosity, kindness and any sort of manner of showing benevolence.
Tuesday, Aug 16th
[7:13 AM ET] The Moon in Aries sextile Saturn Retrograde at 21º46’ Aquarius
[10:47 AM ET] The Moon in Aries trine the Sun at 23º43’ Leo
[1:46 PM ET] Mercury in Virgo trine Uranus at 18º53’ Taurus
[4:18 PM ET] The Moon in Aries square Pluto Retrograde at 26º43’ Capricorn
[10:22 PM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Taurus
On Tuesday, the Moon in Aries will sextile Saturn in the morning, which can start things off quite serious and somber in the morning. Saturn asks us to take responsibility and slow down in the morning. The Moon then moves to make a beautiful trine to the Sun today, as the Waning Gibbous Moon, it represents where we find illumination, revelations, and understanding through the compassion, friendship, and trust the Moon conjoins Jupiter brought yesterday. We find ourselves in a position of acknowledgement and being motivated to take action with the Moon and Sun both in agreement in Fire signs. The Moon is in Aries, the exaltation of the Sun, and receives it. The Moon being in the 9th position from the Sun indicates revelations, news, expansion of the mind, and learning new knowledge. This is a great day to reach out to bosses, people in chart, authority figures, and approaching them with favors and request. The Sun as the disposition of this configuration gives us more confidence to be able to speak from the heart. We find this a moment where we are able to command people’s attention and have the lights put on us. There are sparks, it is bold, it is sexy, and one of the more beautiful aspects for the week. It is a great moment of acknowledgment, achievement, and recognition from leaders. Mercury makes a trine to Uranus today, which can bring some unexpected news and information, and as a result, it may put us on edge, have us feeling paranoid, frustrated, and unearth a lot of painful memories or experiences since the Moon will square Pluto afterwards. Things start off nice in the day, but they can quickly get tense as the Moon gets ready to exit Aries. By the end of the day, the Moon will enter Taurus, the sign of their exaltation, seeking more comfort, stability, and nourishment.
Wednesday, Aug 17th
[11:53 AM ET] The Moon in Taurus square Venus at 07º12’ Leo
On Wednesday, the Moon’s only aspect will be when it makes a square to Venus. This is another great aspect for the day, as the Moon is able to meet its domicile lord in Leo. This can be a day where we feel inclined to create art, music, tap into creativity, and listen to the heart’s desire since Venus is in Leo. This is a great day to be recognized for creative and artistic works, but it is also good for love, relationships, sex, & physical pleasure. Venus in Leo can talk about affirmation of the self, identity, and a need to boost one’s confidence. Today is the day to bring out those new clothes you bought and wear them like you’re going to the Met Gala. Be confident, express yourself, and love yourself. We might find some challenge or struggle to be able to display this confidence since these planets are in a square aspect, so it can indicate feeling unbalanced, conflict in public perception/favorability, and its a moment to really question what makes us feel comfortable & nourished with how we are seen, matters of visibility, and being seen are prominent with Venus the domicile of the Sun.
Thursday, Aug 18th
[4:02 AM ET] Venus in Leo trine Jupiter Retrograde at 08º02’ Aries
[6:57 AM ET] The Moon conjoins the North Node at 17º10’ Taurus
[10:19 AM ET] The Moon conjoins Uranus at 18º54’ Taurus
[3:33 PM ET] The Moon in Taurus square Saturn Retrograde at 21º35’ Aquarius
[3:37 PM ET] The Moon in Taurus trine Mercury at 21º37’ Virgo
Thursday is one of the more beautiful days in the Astro Weather because the main event Venus in Leo making a trine to Jupiter. Venus trine Jupiter can be really great for expansiveness in relationships, taking oaths, entering into partnerships, and honesty, openness, and reception between others in relationships. Jupiter is Retrograde, so there is an element of needing to rethink about agreements or trusts between people. This can come as a result of stubborn tension going on between the Moon and Saturn. The Moon is exalted in Taurus and Saturn is at home in Aquarius, and they’re having their monthly square off. The tension between comfort and conformity is this tension between the Moon and Saturn. The Moon in Taurus has really highlighted the lack of nourishment or rest we are currently feeling as Uranus and the North Node, and recently Mars, have brought a lot of instability, exhausted things to their limit, and shook the foundations and infrastructure Saturn set in place. The challenges and cracks within stability in the house Taurus/Aquarius rule are being revisited for a final time this week. The focus has shifted towards removing some of these problems or transitioning away from them since Mars is getting ready to transition signs. It will no longer be in a whole sign square to Saturn, which will help to gain some relief and ease off the harsh restrictions, but it will also leave behind the North Node and Uranus. By the end of the day, the Moon in Taurus makes a beautiful trine to Mercury in Virgo, both planets are in the signs of their exaltation, the Moon in Taurus and Mercury in Virgo. Since they are aspecting each other from the signs they find dignity in, this can be a moment of getting grounded news. The exaltation of both of the messengers shows the deliverance of news that is favorable.
Friday, Aug 19th
[12:36 AM ET] The Moon in Taurus square The Sun at 26º12’ Leo
[7:05 AM ET] The Moon conjoins Mars at 29º29’ Taurus
[8:06 AM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Gemini
[11:51 PM ET] The Moon in Gemini sextile Jupiter Retrograde at 07º54’
On Friday, the Moon and the Sun will square off into the beginning of midnight ET. This shows a theme of conflict, confrontation, & disagreement as the Luminaries are in a square aspect, a tense relationship with each other. This relationship is even more tense, concentrated, and focused since the Sun in Leo is in its domicile, and the Moon is in its Exaltation in Taurus, both luminaries in position of dignity and strength, and because there isn’t any direct reception between these planets it indicates stubborn conflict. The Moon wants pleasure and comfort and the Sun wants to command attention, recognition, and seeks to lead. The Moon highlights the source of this tension, and there is someone in the house that is not welcomed & disrupting the Moon’s nap. It is none other than Mars. Mars is being exiled in this house, and also by the Moon. In fact, the Moon is trying to escort Mars out of this zodiac sign. The Moon highlights friction and longer conflict that is developing between Mars and the Sun since they are moving closer towards a square with each other, perfecting next week. The Moon is currently in the waning quarter phase, so it indicates that she is trying to bring the schemes and challenges that Mars has highlighted to an end. Being pushed to a limit of needing to work, spur up action, and take initiative while feeling completely under-resourced starts to come to an end, but it isn’t the end of dealing with the Taurus/Aquarius square. Issues of comfort and confidence are abundant, and they create fights, tension, discord, & conflict throughout the day. Today is definitely one of the more tense days in the week. The Moon will go from the slow and nourishing sign of Taurus to the curious sign of Gemini. The Moon in Gemini will be ruled by Mercury in Virgo, which can definitely bring news and information our way. Needing to get technical, down to the details, and practice good judgement/discernment. The Moon will connect to Jupiter via a sextile which brings an element of sweetness towards the end of the day. Maybe the ability to talk to a friend after dealing with a tense experience earlier in the day (with the Moon/Mars square).
Saturday, Aug 20th
[3:56 AM ET] INGRESS: Mars enters Gemini
[5:08 AM ET] The Moon in Gemini sextile Venus at 10º32’ Leo
[5:08 PM ET] RETROGRADE CYCLE: Mercury enters Shadow at 24º11 Virgo
Our main event of the week really does take place on Saturday, bright and early in the morning: Mars enters Gemini. Mars moves out of the sign of its exile, which can bring some relief to our energy levels. Instead of feeling physically exhausted and immobile, stuck in place, and stagnant, Mars enters into the Airy sign of Gemini. We find ourselves being much more forthright, quick with words, and even aggressive in speech, communication, and sharing information. Mars brings more conflict & contest in knowledge, whether this be in intellectual debate, or challenging misinformation and distortion of facts. Mars will spend the next 7 months in this sign, because it will station Retrograde on October 30th, 2022.
Mars finds some inconsistency by going from a Fixed to a Mutable sign. Mars as a malefic can bring challenges to the element in which it is located in, and in an Air sign, this can indicate challenges with air, socialization, and communication. Often times when I see the malefics in the sign of Gemini, it can be indicative of the harm that can come from curiosity, knowledge, and information. Whether it takes the form of insults and words that literally hurt & harm you, or it can be gossiping. Literally talking shit or bad mouthing someone is an experience this transit can bring, so pick your battles wisely. Mars brings more friction with how we engage with Gemini energy. This can be especially felt in the house that Gemini rules in your chart. One comment some ancient astrologers, like Abu Ma’shar, makes about Mars is that it represents speaking before thinking, and then regretting what one has said. This is definitely a time you want to chose your words carefully and consider the consequences of what you say.
Mars will be reviewing a lot of what happened in 2020-2022 when the North and South Node entered Gemini/Sagittarius, brining major ending and beginnings to the houses these signs rule in your chart. A Venus Retrograde in Gemini in May 2020 introduced the Nodes’ Ingress, and Mars comes back around for an extended stay this year to sort out what malevolence and harm was done with the information & weaponization of knowledge. There was one Solar Eclipse in Gemini that happened on June 10, 2021 at 19º47’ Gemini, so when Mars conjoins this degree on Sept 29th, 2022, it will activate whatever new beginning is promised from that Eclipse last year. The Nodes would’ve brought a lot of insatiable craving, material desire, ambition, and obsession with the house Gemini rules in our chart, so this Mars Retrograde really gives us an opportunity to make clear, cut, & dry choices about the ways in which we relate to each other, communicate, share knowledge, and in what ways have information been weaponized. We find ourselves needing to spur action and change in the house Gemini rules in our chart, maybe this takes the form of needing to be more assertive, or to take more decisive action about situations that have been pushed to an extreme, since Mars is a malefic transit. This transit might be more challenging for those born during the day time since Mars is the malefic out of sect, inflames, and burns things during the day time, whereas those born during the night might experience Mars as a torch of light in the cold of the night, providing moderated heat and encouraging you to be more bold with the house topics Gemini rules in your chart.
Luckily, today we get a friend who we can talk to since the Moon will sextile Venus as the only lunar aspect of the day. This can bring some good news our way since a connection to Venus is always an opportunity for pleasure, laughter, and enjoyment. Especially because Venus is in Leo, we may find ourselves feeling seen, affirmed, and more confident after certain conversations we have with others today.
The other aspect taking place today is Mercury entering Shadow at 24º Virgo. From this moment forward, Mercury will be moving forward through the degrees of the zodiac that it will eventually revisit when it goes Retrograde on September 10th at 8º Libra. You’ll notice a harder time communicating over the next few weeks, so its important to make sure you’re clear about the things you’re trying to communicate. Remember, everyone has their own definition and understanding of what a word means, and just because you understand something one way doesn’t mean someone else will understand it the same way as you. The story and events of the Mercury Retrograde in Libra/Virgo start to open up as a result of Mars’ ingress into Gemini. Giving us lots to information to debate about, contest, and get to the heart of what is useful and authentic and what is fake.
Sunday, Aug 21st
[3:03 AM ET] The Moon in Gemini trine Saturn Retrograde at 21º24’ Aquarius
[3:40 AM ET] Mercury in Virgo opposes Neptune Retrograde at 24º43’ Pisces
[9:46 AM ET] The Moon in Gemini square Neptune Retrograde at 24º43’ Pisces
[10:28 AM ET] The Moon in Gemini square Mercury at 25º04’ Virgo
[6:06 PM ET] The Moon in Gemini sextile the Sun at 28º49’ Leo
[8:29 PM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Cancer
Sunday is one of the busier days of the weekend as the Moon will make a trine to Saturn, which gives us the opportunity to slow down our thoughts, organize them, and learn hidden or secret knowledge. The Moon is learning wisdom from its elders (Saturn) as a way to deal with the confusion and challenge in discernment Mercury is currently dealing with while in an opposition to Neptune. Mercury opposite Neptune can be distorted information, impaired judgement (whether it be due to intoxication or other drugs, things that are Neptunian in influence), and blurry details. Neptune makes things pretty confusing today and this becomes the topic of our conversation for the day since the Moon will square Mercury and Neptune at the same time as the oppose each other. This is a moment where we are called to get our facts straight and iron out details. At the end of this confrontation and stimulating news, the Moon makes a sextile to the Sun, which is great for leadership, being seen, recognition, affirmation, and feeling confident. Afterwards, the Moon will leave Gemini and return back to her home sign, Cancer. The Moon seeks rest, nourishment, and comfort after our mind has been bouncing all over the place, confused, and restless from the overwhelming ingress of planets into Mutable Signs out of fixed signs. In many ways, it is a nice contrast to the past few weeks where we’ve been dealing with an overwhelming amount of Fixed Energy keeping us stagnant, the mutable energy allows us to make adjustments and changes, especially in the house Gemini/Virgo rules in your chart. This will also be highlighted next week with the New Moon in Virgo.
