Week 32: August 2022 Week 2, The Week Ahead Horoscope
The Full Moon in Aquarius is coming to shake up the sky this week. We find a release of all of the tense energy thats been bubbling rise to the surface this week
Introduction
The Full Moon is really the main event of this week on Thursday. After we’ve seen the Mars/Saturn square go exact on Sunday, the Moon comes to put this into play this week as it activates not only the Mars/Saturn square but also the Saturn/Uranus square. The two planets who have been shaking and disrupting Saturn’s infrastructure and foundations are all getting activated with this Full Moon and we get a release of energy that really disrupts and disorients Saturn. Usually Leo season is supposed to bring some element of confidence and trust, but as we get deeper into the month, we realize this is a moment where our confidence is tested. Our trust and knowingness is challenged by the obscurity & uncertainty Saturn brings in an opposition to the Sun. This is another aspect highlighted by the Full Moon. The Moon is going to be collecting and gathering all this tension and bringing it to a full release. This is the halfway point in Saturn’s Retrograde cycle this week, and it is quite a climactic one. In the larger scheme of things, this the last Saturn Retrograde in Aquarius until 2050, so Saturn really won’t be coming back anytime soon to do a revision of the topics in the house Aquarius rules. This is a really a moment to reflect on what has been going on in the house Aquarius rules in your chart for the last 2 years. Since Saturn initially ingressed into Aquarius on March 21st, 2020, Saturn has brought a lot of heaviness, potentially challenges, hardships, delays, the need to slow down, dig deeper, get more serious, build stable foundation, and settle down within the topics that the house represents in your chart.
Monday, Aug 8th
[2:11 AM ET] The Moon in Sagittarius sextile Saturn Retrograde at 22º22’ Aquarius
[6:30 AM ET] The Moon in Sagittarius square Neptune Retrograde at 25º00’ Pisces
[2:38 PM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Capricorn
Monday this week features the Moon in Sagittarius wrapping up the Grand Fire trine from over the weekend, encouraging us to be bold, take action, initiative, and let our fire burn bright comes into contact with Saturn and Neptune. The sextile to Saturn gives us a moment to slow down and pause. Bringing something to a halt or to an ending, even though there is an element of confusion or feeling imbalanced since the Moon will make a square to Neptune right after. The Moon will enter Capricorn, and where the Moon in Sagittarius brought a more optimistic and enlightening vibe to the astro-weather, being ruled by Jupiter, the Moon makes things much more somber and serious as it enters Capricorn today. The Moon will be making no aspects after this for the rest of the day, but it will be applying to a trine to Mercury in Virgo throughout all of the day and into tomorrow.
Tuesday, Aug 9th
[1:17 AM ET] Venus in Cancer opposes Pluto Retrograde at 26º53’ Capricorn
[3:50 AM ET] The Moon in Capricorn trine Mercury at 08º09’ Virgo
[4:24 AM ET] The Moon in Capricorn square Jupiter Retrograde at 08º30’ Aries
On Tuesday, Venus in Cancer makes an opposition to Pluto in Capricorn. This bring a challenge to our relationships, due to dynamics of the underworld, such as power, control, obsession, and unequal balance in power. We might feel a lot of stress, paranoia, and grief around our ability to share love, affection, and connection. A cathartic release of connection from someone you maybe once loved and appreciated may be signified for some by this transit. The pain that comes with having to separate, and sometimes Pluto shows this would happen forcefully (not as in violent, although that can happen, but in this context I mean in a way that you don’t have control over the outcome). It is a moment of tension that Venus feels and it can cause a lot of emotional stress. Take it easy under this transit. The Moon also makes a trine to Mercury today, that was applying all of yesterday. There is an abundance of thoughts, ideas, information, and knowledge that is going through our brain. Mercury being in the overcoming position to trine the Moon shows that our ideas are becoming fully realized and grounded as the Moon gets ready to be full on Thursday. This is a great day for writing, learning, speaking, communicating, traveling, publishing, and sending out any information to others. It could be sobering news, somewhat depressing, serious, or somber, especially since the Moon is in Capricorn. There is some hope for optimism, but it does not come without challenge since the Moon’s next aspect will be a square to Jupiter. We find optimism being challenged by the Moon’s. The Moon takes the news and information from Mercury and transfers it over to Jupiter, where these planets might not have any connection to each other based on their zodiacal sign, the Moon brings them together. Our faith, our optimism, and our spirits become depressed temporarily. It’s not to say today is all terrible, since the Moon squaring Jupiter can be a fruitful aspect, but it indicates that these hopes, optimism, and expansion of knowledge would not happen without some challenge. The Moon won’t make anymore aspects to other planets after this for the rest of the day. This is also a good day for travel, approaching judges, law, courts, religion, interpreting dreams, and divination.
Wednesday, Aug 10th
[5:12 AM ET] The Moon in Capricorn trine Mars at 24º00’ Taurus
[9:44 AM ET] The Moon conjoins Pluto Retrograde at 26º51’ Capricorn
[12:39 PM ET] The Moon in Capricorn opposes Venus at 28º41’ Cancer
[2:44 PM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Aquarius
On Wednesday, the Moon apply to a trine to Mars in Taurus, which gets us grounded at the beginning of the day on Wednesday. The Moon is in the Exaltation of Mars, who is currently in the sign of its Exile. Mars is able to receive the influence of the Moon, and it highlights tension, strain, and stress we may feel in our bodies on Wednesday. Capricorn, and Mars, are typically associated with work, labor, and effort, but with Mars being in a position where it is under-resourced and overworked. The Moon in Capricorn can definitely be tiring, especially since the Moon is also in a sign where it is Exiled as well too, Capricorn. Both Mars and the Moon being exiled in each other’s exaltations shows us how maybe the answer ISN’T working harder. Planets that are in the sign of their exile are casted out of having access to their resources to bring about the things they represent. The Moon wants nourishment and comfort, but is unable to attain that, so it must be creative in how it find that. Mars wants to take action, get things done, and be swift in decision making, but it is also unable to attain that. This trine gives us a good look at where we need to slow down, and what also might be draining our energy. The Moon will conjoin Pluto in the morning, which brings buried feelings & emotions to the surface, seeing the underworld, looking for hidden things, it may bring an element of fear and emotional turbulence your way. After this, the Moon will make an opposition to Venus in Cancer, who is currently ruled by the Moon. The Moon activates the Venus/Pluto opposition that went exact on Tuesday when it comes to oppose Venus. There are challenges with emotional stability, feeling secured, safe, and balanced. This is a moment to get to the root of your fears, your secrets, and shadows and Venus gives us a moment for cathartic release and tenderness. It feels like giving someone a hug after they’ve been crying about some deep trauma they’ve experienced in their life. Venus as a benefic brings aid to the Moon.
Thursday, Aug 11th
[4:08 AM ET] The Moon in Aquarius sextile Jupiter Retrograde at 08º25’ Aries
[8:53 AM ET] The Sun in Leo square Uranus at 18º51’ Taurus
[2:30 PM ET] INGRESS: Venus enters Leo
[5:44 PM ET] Mars in Taurus sextile Neptune Retrograde at 24º56’ Pisces
[8:47 PM ET] The Moon in Aquarius square Uranus at 18º51’ Taurus
[9:35 PM ET] LUNATION: Full Moon at 19º21’ Aquarius
Thursday is one of our peaks of the week since the Moon will enter Aquarius, where the Moon will be Full of light and bringing things to a Full Culmination in the sign that Aquarius rules in your chart. Before we get there though, there are quite a FEW aspects that are taking place here today, and the Full Moon is just the Grand Finale. First, the Moon makes a sextile to Jupiter in Aries, which is a great moment for friendship, trust, honesty, getting assistance and support from someone, learning, wisdom, and interpreting dreams + omens. Right after this, the Sun makes a square to Uranus in Taurus. This is a pivotal moment for Uranus in the sky, because whenever Uranus or Neptune make a square to the Sun, they station Retrograde. This scheme is similar to when Jupiter & Saturn station Retrograde, except they station it direct when they trine the Sun. This is one thing I’ve observed about the outer planets, and how to incorporate them into the traditional lens of astrology. The Sun and Uranus in a square with each other brings sudden disruptions, unexpected changes, and interruptions that cause us to go back and rethink how we engage with how we take care of ourselves, how we nourish ourselves, our resources, and stability there in. The Sun in Leo really starts to activate the Saturn/Uranus square and close these two planet’s aspects together, to create another moment of upheaval in shaking foundations, disruption in infrastructure, stability, and of old things. Uranus seeks to gives us a breakthrough to do something different, and imagine, care, nourishment, and comfort differently. The Sun in Leo shows us that we may need to prioritize ourselves and our inner knowing rather than a system, structure, or government to box us in.
Right after this disruptive moment, Venus finally leaves Cancer and enters into Leo. After exiting Cancer with a harsh opposition to Pluto, creating emotional and relationship turbulence, Venus comes into Leo where shining, being seen, and affirmed are all things we love. Ruled by the Sun, Venus seeks to embody the flare of the golden titan, dazzling, gleaming, and letting sparks fly. Venus gives us a love that is sincere, from the heart, and calling into question our values, authenticity, and the inner truth. We find ourselves being flattered with Venus in Leo, affirmation of the ego, of the self, and identity, Venus wants us to find things that invigorate our spirit and keep us alive. Express yourself is the big theme for this transit. Learning how to express yourself in a way that authentically reflects the person you know yourself to be on the inside. Venus tends to talk about appearances, and Venus is not too concerned about being graceful and polite here, Venus wants to be truthful about who they are. Heartfelt connections are abundant with Venus in Leo, but they’re not met without some sort of challenge, from Uranus in Taurus and Saturn in Aquarius. This creates some seriousness and disruptiveness around our ability to express ourselves. Saturn brings a serious tone to expressing ourselves and revealing the hidden feelings and yearnings of the heart, where Uranus lets us know we need change and we need to do something different. For some context, Venus will spend a lengthy 5 months in Leo in 2023 because this is actually the next sign where it will go Retrograde. In less than a year from now, on July 22nd, 2023, Venus will station Retrograde at 28º Leo, so this is kind of like a preview of what things will be like for the next time Venus visits this sign. These matters and themes will be even more relevant and important then. This transit will be Venus’s last interaction with being in the sign of Leo before it goes Retrograde, so the terms Venus leaves on in this sign will be where things pick up on again in 2023.
Afterwards, the Moon will square Uranus which is also the planet that is heavily emphasized during this lunation: it is the planet that is in the closest aspect to this lunation besides Saturn. Well, both of them are being highlighted during this lunation, and the square they will continue to form. The Saturn/Uranus square has represented the revolution and changing of infrastructure that is centered around labor, care, nourishment, and rest in Taurus/Aquarius. This square is similar to that of Mars and Saturn where it represents the shaking of foundations, but on a much larger scale, since Uranus moves a lot slower than Mars. Uranus also packs more of a punch and wants to disrupt things more than Mars, since it is the planet right after Saturn in planetary speed. The Moon in Aquarius wants us to think about our notions and ideas, and generally what is the consensus behind them. Whereas Leo is a sign representing individual sovereignty, Aquarius is a sign representing the general consensus, and what that even means. Aquarius is a Fixed Air sign, so it takes whatever is initiated in Cardinal Air (Libra, ruled by Venus) and stabilizes and fixes it. It takes our values, likes, favorites, and Saturn establishes them as a status quo, consensus, and creates conformity from these ideals since Saturn is known for its binding and restricting nature. However, Aquarius also has connotations with transition of power and changing in rulers, especially with Uranus present, this theme of transition of power is big, and disruption in said power. The luminaries really spotlight these cracks in our infrastructure, that not only Mars has brought in the previous week, but Uranus again this week (and the last week of September). The Full Moon in Aquarius calls us to get in touch with our ideas, values, what we like, and the people in power who have decided a standard for us. Who has control in your life? What are the social and idealogical binds that constrain you? And where do you need revolution in your life to disrupt these ideas? The Full Moon in Aquarius wants us to get creative and to not be afraid to think outside the box, and show us that sometimes leaving and moving away from situations, is the solution. It is quite an eventful and disruptive full moon!
Friday, Aug 12th
[1:58 AM ET] The Moon conjoins Saturn Retrograde at 22º05’ Aquarius
[7:06 AM ET] The Moon in Aquarius square Mars at 25º17’ Taurus
[2:44 PM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Pisces
On Friday, in the night (East Coast, N.A) of the Full Moon, the Moon will conjoin Saturn, which makes us very aware of the limits, constraints, and binds that are creating challenges and barriers for us to move past from. Saturn still is Retrograde, so this is a moment where we need to review and rethink about where we can find structure, stability, and clarity in our ideology, social understanding, and social structuring. Once the Moon conjoins Saturn, it will then be moving to square Mars in Taurus. During these 5 hours, the Moon will be besieged, since it is moving from the aspect of one malefic to the aspect of another. The Moon motivates us to create some disruption and take action after a very premeditated full moon, and by the time it squares Mars is when we find a sharp ending to whatever was proven to be unstable. The Moon being besieged is always a cause for concern, since the Moon represents the physical body, this could be a moment where some injury, accident, or harm occurs. Conflicts, fights, confrontation, and challenges are all abundant for Friday, and then the Moon enters Pisces, where it is seeking to swim away from the madness of all the planets that have been piling up in the Fixed Signs. The Moon entering into Pisces gives us a moment of wisdom and to reflect on the challenges we’ve overcome as we release all this tension and energy thats been building from the full moon. The Moon in Pisces is a nice hot tub for the rest of the day.
Saturday, Aug 13th
[3:01 PM ET] The Moon in Pisces opposes Mercury at 14º48’ Virgo
On Saturday, there isn’t too many astrological aspects happening other than the Moon is opposing Mercury in Virgo today. The Moon in Pisces seeks to find meaning and answers, and Mercury in Virgo is also seeking answers too, however the Moon understands that wisdom is not something that be quantified in numbers, statistics, and data, and that wisdom comes from contradiction and things not making sense. We can be over concerned with details, facts, data, and information, which can be good in some contexts and spaces, but in other ways it can make us feel mentally imbalanced, challenged, and disoriented. This is a day where we feel our thoughts and ideas being challenged, pushed, pulled, and all of the mutability that may come with it. Details are blurry and hazy with the Moon, and maybe not as relevant, but Mercury cares about details and facts, quantifiable and measurable things. You can’t measure love by any standard. We may feel motivated to write, communicate, argue, debate, and start to define lines that may have been blurry. Mercury gives us an opportunity to iron out the details of what is realistic about how we should execute our dreams & visions, especially since that has needed some revisiting since Jupiter has stationed Retrograde. What information is useful, & what is not? Discernment is the key lesson of Mercury today.
Sunday, Aug 14th
[7:58 AM ET] The Moon conjoins Neptune Retrograde at 24º53’ Pisces
[10:52 AM ET] The Moon in Pisces sextiles Mars at 26º35’ Taurus
[1:10 PM ET] SYNODIC CYCLE: The Sun in Leo opposes Saturn Retrograde at 21º54’ Aquarius
[4:42 PM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Aries
[5:27 PM ET] Mars in Taurus trine Pluto Retrograde at 26º45’ Capricorn
[11:53 PM ET] The Moon in Aries trine Venus at 04º08’ Leo
The Moon conjoins Neptune early in the morning, which makes us much more highly intuitive & tapped into the unseen today. After Mercury had us trying to iron out the details, Neptune brings us to forget out judgement (which is not always a good thing). This can be really good for trying to channel feelings and emotions that, and being in tune with others energy around you. There can also be an element of confusion The Moon makes a sextile to Mars again which can make us motivated to take action to prioritize our comfort and leisure. There might be something that spurs some anger or riles us up today. It spurs the passions of our emotions and sparks might fly. Today, the Sun opposes Saturn for the final time while Saturn will be in Aquarius. This marks the halfway point in Saturn’s Retrograde cycle, when it stationed Retrograde on June 4th. Saturn is said to be in the curtailed passaged, where it is temporarily speeding up as it opposes the Sun, which can signify Saturn being more effectiveness in being able to bring about the things it represents, but because Saturn is Retrograde, this can feel somewhat disorienting. A fast reversal is signified by the curtailed passage, after a delay. And it is in this curtailed passage that Saturn will be invisible when rising and setting over the horizon. This factor of not being visible at sunrise or sunset shows that this planet’s actions are somehow being hidden, obscured, & concealed when it tries to manifest. Saturn at this point in time will transition from being a Morning Star to being an Evening Star. For the past few months Saturn has only been visible early in the morning to late at night, and now it will be visible only from sunset to late at night. This is also a point in Saturn’s cycle where Saturn is the brightest it can possibly be in the sky, showing things coming to a full culmination and clarity over what is being undone and reversed in the house Aquarius rules. As you can see, the theme has been remove of structure, stability, and the Saturnian. The Sun comes to bring Saturn to a full spotlight today, and both of these planets are in their respective domicile. Masha’allah’s Book on Reception says that planets who are in their domicile and are opposing each other (not in reception) is more dangerous because they represent two stubborn people who have no reason to compromise or change things, receiving threats from people of the same disposition. It portends for stubborn conflict. The Leo and Aquarius axis deal with the fixing of power, since they both rule fix signs. Leo fixes the initiation of power that begins in Aries, whereas Aquarius fixes the initiation of power that begins in Libra. This relationship of Venus and Mars is crucial to understanding the relationship of the Sun and Saturn. Venus shows how our likes, values, and attraction create conformity in society for the sake of being accepted in Aquarius, or being outcasted if to deviate from the standard. Aries shows us how power is amassed through force and the spark of impulse, and Leo fixes the ego, the control, and ability to direct and exert influence control or change through individual action. Collective versus individual is the theme not only for Venus and Mars (Aries/Libra) but also for the Sun and Saturn (Leo/Aquarius). Saturn and the Sun show who is in power with each respective sign. Where the Sun seeks to make us confident and knowledgable, Saturn seeks to obscure and keep things hidden, and we find our confidence challenged today. The Moon helps to add some extra fire to the day, and a little more ego to match Saturn, as the Moon enters Aries. The Moon in Aries will make a trine to Venus in Leo, which also adds even more flare today. This is actually really great for love, relationships and expressing your heart and passions to others. Although the Sun and Saturn have been fighting it out all day, the Moon and Venus making a benefic aspect to each other does bring us some good news. It looks like we get to share our passions, desires, and sparks are literally flying. If Venus in Leo could bring any time to express ourselves, it’s now.
Great break down! You are incredible Blaze! I learn so much from you. You are brilliant.
You are amazing. Thanks for everything
