Week 29: July 2022 Week 3, The Week Ahead Horoscope
The Mars-Saturn square is getting activated this week as 3 planets enter Fixed Signs. Focusing on stabilizing & sustaining energy this week. Mercury and the Sun both enter Leo, bringing all the heat.
Introduction
Introduction
This week, we’re unravelling a bigger story between Mars in Taurus and Saturn in Aquarius when we get 3 out of 7 planets entering into Fixed Signs this week. To start things off, Mercury will enter Leo, the Moon will enter Taurus, and then the Sun will enter Leo. The introduction of Leo energy for this week sets up a lot of the background for what the Mars/Saturn square will be about coming up in August. The Moon will make a bodily conjunction to Mars this week, which will be the only conjunction it makes before the square goes exact. This square has been creating a lot of friction between the two malefics, where Mars wants to take action and initiative, and Saturn is restraining or holding back Mars in some way by imposing limitations, restrictions, upon what Mars can or cannot do. Mercury enters Leo this week we will find the need to be louder and project our voices. Quite literally, the Lion will need to roar loud. Questions of confidence and authority come into play when the Sun enters Leo later this week. The need to be independent and firm in one’s sense of self comes up this week. The Sun returns back to their domicile, and in the Fixed Sign, we’re called to think about our heart and acting from places of authenticity. The sun will have to content with a square to Mars and an opposition to Saturn, so while the Sun may be at home, they find pressure from both of the malefics. This week becomes really important for this larger narrative of Mars squaring Saturn.
Monday, July 18th
[2:39 AM ET] The Moon in Pisces trine Mercury at 27º22' Cancer
[3:00 AM ET] Mercury in Cancer opposes Pluto at 27º23' Capricorn
[7:17 AM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Aries
[8:14 AM ET] The Moon in Aries square Venus at 00º32' Cancer
[10:34 PM ET] The Moon conjoins Jupiter at 08º33' Aries
The Moon in Pisces makes a trine to Mercury in Cancer early in the morning, and this trine is one of the nicer aspects for the day, especially because Mercury is in the Moon’s sign, and the Moon is in the overcoming position (the 9th from Cancer), while in reception, it looks like being able to find language to talk about information that feels buried & hidden below the surface. This tug of hidden information, and the need to express and talk about these things comes from Mercury opposing Pluto early in the morning. The Moon in the 9th position can show that this is coming from divination, teachers, or in dreams. This is a really great transit for gaining some deeper insight into your emotions and feelings. The information you get might not make sense though. This is because Mercury will be in the Moon’s sign, but the Moon will be in the sign that Mercury find’s its depression in (Pisces). So while we are gaining some incredible insight from a High Priestess figure, it may not be clear. Mercury doesn’t do too well in the water signs, because the information gets refracted. The Moon will then enter Aries, where it will be in a Mutual Reception with its domicile lord, Mars in Taurus, who is in the Moon’s exaltation. This gives both Mars and the Moon a little boost of energy to get some momentum going. Especially when the Moon makes a square to Venus in Cancer right after it ingresses. The Moon in Aries gives us the ability to step outside of the comfort zone that cancer has laid for us, and to be vocal about our needs, desires, and what we need to feel nourished and supported. In some capacity, we may feel like we’re not being supported because Venus will be ruled by the Moon who is in the sign that she is Exiled in (Aries). Luckily, the Moon is able to gain favor, support, friendship, and have it spirits elevated by the Greater Benefic Jupiter. The Moon will actually be enclosed in between the benefics (Venus & Jupiter) throughout all of the day, which brings Monday off to a fresh start. The Moon conjoining the benefics is always the best time to do anything, especially with Jupiter, if you’re seeking approval, praise, help, & support in matters of your own life, definitely use Monday’s conjunction.
Tuesday, July 19th
[8:34 AM ET] INGRESS: Mercury enters Leo
[9:38 PM ET] SYNODIC CYCLE: The Sun in Cancer opposes Pluto at 27º21' Capricorn
On Tuesday, the messenger Hermes enters Leo which begins our series of ingresses into Fire Signs. Throughout most of this week, Mercury will be exiting the beams of the Sun, since it has passed on the other side of the Sun, shifting phases to become an Evening Star. Mercury will be working to make its appearance and commit phasis by Aug 3rd when it gets to 0º Virgo. Whenever Mercury makes appearances in the sky, whether it be Morning or Evening Rising, usually it represents that Mercury is delivering some sort of news, since its physically making an appearance in the sky.
Before Mercury gets there, it will have to travel through Leo, hoping the message can get through. Mercury enters a Fire sign, which turns up the volume in our conversations and makes them louder, but also Mercury will enter into a Fixed Sign, where it will focus on trying to stabilize our mind, and being confident in our ability to translate, communicate, and deliver information. However, Mercury will find a lot of stress and pushback in being able to do this, because it will square Mars and oppose Saturn (this happens next week though). Mercury will start to feel this tension starting today. Mercury will also receive a whole sign trine from Jupiter starting today, which is really good for education, learning, divination, and trying to find the truth, so Mercury is not without support to deal with Mars & Saturn.
Today can feel kind of rough because the Sun will be opposing Pluto today, which puts a spotlight on what unequal power dynamics have been effecting our sense of emotional and material stability & comfort in the house Cancer/Capricorn rule in your chart.
Wednesday, July 20th
[2:28 AM ET] The Moon in Aries sextile Saturn Retrograde at 23º42' Aquarius
[9:20 AM ET] The Moon in Aries square Pluto Retrograde at 27º20' Capricorn
[10:18 AM ET] The Moon in Aries square the Sun at 27º51' Cancer
[2:22 PM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Taurus
[8:18 PM ET] The Moon in Taurus square Mercury at 03º06' Leo
[9:16 PM ET] The Moon in Taurus sextile Venus at 03º36' Cancer
On Wednesday, the Moon will some hard aspects on its way out of Aries. The Moon will make a sextile to Saturn, which gives us some opportunity to get serious about these situations we will need to confront. We find ourselves having to get more cautious about the actions we take next, since the Moon squares both Pluto and the Sun, who just had their opposition. Whenever the Moon squares the Sun, after the Full Moon, it indicates matters that brings things towards decay in that house since the Moon is half empty in light by this time period. The Moon’s job is to increase and give life where it is lacking (when she is waxing) and to also bring diminution and decrease to where there is excess (when she is waning). The Moon often gets connotations with seeking wisdom as well when it decays, and in the house Aries rules, we’re seeking further and deeper truth around what it means to take initiative, to begin, to have courage, and take action. We may be called to turn away from certain emotional patterning and needing to break out of a cycle of tension in emotional and physical security. This happens through us taking initiative, being independent, and choosing ourselves first. The topics of security become especially important as the Moon enters her exaltation in Taurus. The Moon will make a square to Mercury in Leo, which brings us important news towards the end of the day. I want to stress the importance of the person who this news might be from, since the Moon is exalted and in the 10th position from Mercury (Taurus is 10th from Leo), and Mercury is in a royal sign (which can be interpreted as royal messengers ) and in a modern translation it can representing getting news from someone who is eminent, of importance, and some of this news might be stressful, since the Moon & Mercury will be moving towards a conjunction with Mars (tomorrow), so there indicators some future tension or stress as a result of the news received.
Then the Moon makes a sextile to Venus, which helps to soften the vibe of things, because Venus and the Moon are both in each other’s signs, which is a mutual reception. Additionally, they are in a supportive aspect with each other (sextile), so while there may be pressing situations that cause anxiety or distress because of Mars, Venus shows us that we have support to be able to address these issues. This aspect is great for love, relationships, hanging out with friends, creativity, art, and developing closer and more intimate relationships with others. Whereas the early part of the day can feel much more confrontational, combative, and showcasing unequal power dynamics, the later part of the day helps to soothe out the tensions and bring more pleasure and enjoyment.
Thursday, July 21st
[12:06 PM ET] The Moon conjoins Mars at 11º16' Taurus
On Thursday, this can be one of the more stressful days for the week, especially since the Moon will be only aspecting Mars for the entire day. Whenever the Moon is in a bodily conjunction with Mars, it portends for conflict, fights, separation, but particularly because Mars is in the Moon’s sign, this could be about resource, material items, land, or issues with physical things. This can also portend for a day of feeling frustrated, needing for change, and having to break out of stagnancy and your comfort zone. Some of us may see this as a day of defiance and protest as well, since Mars is in Exile here. I’ve seen the conjunctions of the Moon with the malefic planets be days where people are really forced to confront challenges where friction, tension, and conflict is coming to an extreme, and luckily, since the Moon and Mars are in reception with each other, Mars can weaken its malice, and be less harmful since even though it is in its exile, it finds support from its exaltation lord. Its like the Mars as a principle of utilizing urgency to address important issues is in a position where it is not able to do that, but the Moon is able to do that on Thursday. Taurus being a sign of our connection to the physical senses, with Mars in Taurus here, it can feel like our senses become inflamed today, or that we may feel out of balance, leading up until the conjunction. Where after that, some of the intensity should subside (not completely, because the Moon still has hard aspects to make, but for today).
The interesting thing about this Taurus Moon is that it really speeds up some of the challenges that the Mars/Saturn square is currently building in the house that Taurus and Aquarius rule in your birth chart, and they will conjoin only one more time in Taurus on August 19th at 29º Taurus, preparing for their entrance into Gemini. The Moon and Mars will also conjoin at 11º Taurus, which is very close to where the degree of the Solar Eclipse at 10º Taurus on April 30th, 2022 was at, so it will also activate some of those things that need to be put to rest that was signified by the Solar Eclipse. I actually have foretelling this transit as being particularly relevant for activating that Solar Eclipse, because Mars will cross over the degree of where the Eclipse was it, which is a technique used by ancient astrologers to see when certain Eclipse could become active in presenting the changes (endings and/or beginnings) the foretell. The planets passing through Taurus have made me think a lot about the sustainability in the resources we have. Our access to healthy food, without chemicals, pesticides, the shortages we have going on for baby formula, and different things that are supposed to provide care, sustenance, and nourishment. These are qualities and keywords that get associated with Taurus, because of the nourishing qualities of Venus that allow life to flourish and thrive, since the Moon is exalted in this sign. However, we see some sort of harm towards something being able to flourish/thrive because of Mars’ presence in this sign. Mars is the fire alarm that lets you know something is burning. Mars is not always a comfortable, or very pleasant experience, in fact, Mars transits can feel very high energy and inflaming in its experience. Typically the Moon conjoining Mars can also bring injury as well, and since when the Moon conjoins Mars, it will be enclosed between the malefics from Thursday going into Saturday morning, this can be an especially potent time for physical injury from hot, sharp, or metal related things.
Friday, July 22nd
[2:13 AM ET] The Moon conjoins Uranus at 18º28' Taurus
[5:21 AM ET] The Moon conjoins the North Node at 20º02’ Taurus
[12:18 PM ET] The Moon in Taurus square Saturn Retrograde at 23º32' Aquarius
[4:06 PM ET] INGRESS: The Sun enters Leo
On Friday, after having an uncomfortable run in with Mars who is creating disruption and challenges within resources and material stability, the Moon also highlights these disruptions, breakthroughs, and revolutions as it conjoins Uranus early in the morning. The Moon is really moving through a rough zone, since its going from Mars, then to Uranus, and will then be applying towards a square with Saturn for the entire day. I’ve been mentioning this quite frequently in my post but I want to emphasize it so you understand how these transits are talking about a much larger cycle going on. In Taurus/Aquarius, there have been a lot of disruptions, instability, and changes to the topics these houses rule in your chart, and going into the weekend, another wave of unexpected breakthroughs and changes in the house Taurus rules comes your way. The Moon can have us feeling extremely tired, in need of lots of rest, and feeling a lot of blockages and stagnation ahead of us especially towards the middle of the day ET when the Moon squares Saturn. We can feel a lot of seriousness, somberness, stubbornness from authority figures, since the Moon and Saturn are squaring off with no reception to each other. When Saturn overcomes the Moon, this can also foretell issues with health, lots of labor, and putting pressure on the body. We become really aware of limits, restrictions, blockages, and obstacles that bring things to a halt and a firm stopping point. Towards the end of the day though, the Sun finally returns home to Leo, and gets a glimpse at some of the activity taking place in the Fixed Signs, between the Moon, Mars, and Saturn. The Sun entering its home sign in Leo urges us to act with the heart, but also to assess where our confidence in our decision making lies. The Sun often gets associated with matters of the mind and knowledge, and Leo + Aries by virtue of being the signs where the Sun finds strength, it gives us more courage and bravery to be able to act with good knowledge and council. After having to address the heavy issues of Taurus and Aquarius, dealing with the challenges and corruption of infrastructure (Saturn Retrograding in Aquarius) and the lack of stability within access to comfort, resources, and needs for nourishment (Mars in Taurus) the Sun will have to take more affirmative action to deal with these issues.
Saturday, July 23rd
[1:10 AM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Gemini
[1:57 AM ET] The Moon in Gemini sextile the Sun at 00º23' Leo
[1:52 PM ET] Mercury in Leo trine Jupiter at 08º40' Aries
[6:38 PM ET] The Moon in Gemini sextile Jupiter at 08º40' Aries
[7:35 PM ET] The Moon in Gemini sextile Mercury at 09º09' Leo
On Saturday, the Moon will ingress into Gemini early in the morning, and make a sextile to the Sun, which is great for recognition, being seen by others, and generally having heartfelt conversations. The Moon will be ruled by Mercury in Leo, who on this day is making a very important trine to Jupiter in Aries. This trine between Mercury and Jupiter has been building all week, and with Jupiter in the 9th position from Mercury, this is really great for expanding perspective, learning, education, interpreting dreams, astrology, studying religion, faith, and other matters. Since Jupiter is a benefic planet and it trines Mercury from a benefic aspect, this can represent an aspect of good news, or news that pacifies and alleviates any tension or worry, since Jupiter has the tendency to bring these things. The Moon being in Gemini can witness both Aries and Leo, so the Moon will actually sextile both of them together. In contrast to last weekend, we see the element shift of the week go from all water, being about emotions, reflection, and introspection, to most planets being in Fire and Air signs by Saturday. We need more initiation and more action, and Jupiter kind of gives us this warning that something will need to be done, because the next aspect Mercury will make is a square to Mars next week, when it will enter besiegement. This transit could also look like getting wisdom from someone who is a teacher or an elder. This wisdom and knowledge could be very helpful for giving us good council to make wise decision making around our speech, language, what we should say and express, and how to speak from the heart, and not from a place of anger. Mars is in the 10th from Mercury and the Sun currently, which signifies issues of anger, frustration, and conflict that effect our communication and ability to exert confidence.
