Week 26: June 2022 Week 5, The Week Ahead Horoscope
The Week Ahead Horoscope is here! The Lunar Cazimi in Cancer is on Tuesday, the Sun squares off with Jupiter, Mars sextiles Saturn, and then squares Pluto, which makes tension abundant this week.
Introduction
Monday, June 27th
[3:21 AM ET] The Moon conjoins Mercury at 15º56’ Gemini
[6:28 PM ET] Mars in Aries sextile Saturn Rx at 24º49’ Aquarius
[9:23 PM ET] The Moon in Gemini trine Saturn at 24º49’ Aquarius
[9:34 PM ET] The Moon in Gemini sextile Mars at 24º55’ Aries
[10:38 PM ET] The Moon in Gemini square Neptune at 25º26’ Pisces
The Moon conjoins Mercury today in the sign of Gemini which brings us news, studying, learning, messages, and letters. The Moon was just separating from a conjunction to Venus previously, so the news or information that is obtained could be about love, desire, relationships. The two messengers, Hermes and Luna, are passing notes to each other. Additionally, Mars sextiles Saturn today, which is very important for understanding the astrology of the summer. If you will recall from previous issues, both Mars and Saturn made their conjunction on April 4th at 22º of Aquarius. This conjunction between the malefics represents the beginning of challenges in the house that Aquarius rules in your chart. Saturn is foundations, and Mars is what shakes Saturn’s stability and causes disruption. Their conjunctions takes place roughly every 2 years, so they’re not infrequent events, but nonetheless— they let us know where we will be dealing with major issues for the next 2 years. After the seed is planted at the conjunction, Mars moved into Pisces from April-May, unaspected to Saturn, and now as Mars has come into Aries, they form the sextile aspect with each other, which represents the opening of the plot between the interaction of these two planets. We start to become aware and see where these cracks in the infrastructure are since this is the first time Mars and Saturn are able to witness each other by aspect. The Moon will get involved with both Mars and Saturn as it will sextile and trine both planets, respectively. The malefics are working together to cause some commotion. Things can get inflamed as the Moon sextiles Mars, which can be representative of the Mars giving the Moon its fire. Infrastructure gets set ablaze and is fanned by the conversation of the Moon in Gemini.
Tuesday, June 28th
{3:54 AM ET} STATION: Neptune stations Retrograde at 25º26’ Pisces
{7:53 AM ET} INGRESS: The Moon enters Cancer
[8:59 PM ET] The Sun in Cancer square Jupiter at 07º18’ Aries
[10:43 PM ET] The Moon in Cancer square Jupiter at 07º18’ Aries
{10:52 PM ET} LUNATION: Dark Moon at 07º22’ Cancer
[11:51 PM ET] Venus in Gemini sextile Jupiter at 07º18’ Aries
To start of the day, Neptune has a little surprise for us and it will be stationing Retrograde until Dec 4th. Neptune stationing is this moment where Neptune seeks to defy the rules, break barriers, and we get a rebellious Neptune for the next few months. Neptune moving backwards will start to re-examine any confusion, blurriness, and distorted perspective around the topics that the house Pisces rules in your chart represents. If you have planets from 22-25º of Mutable Signs (Gemini, Sagittarius, Virgo, Pisces) they will mostly be impacted. This is a moment where illusions become broken, and the moisture that creates fog starts to evaporate. Today is a pivtoal moment for that reason alone, but the Moon also enters Cancer today where she will be put to rest in her home sign, and reborn again through a conjunction with the Sun. The Dark Moon (when the Moon conjoins the Sun) is a period of rest and renewal for the Moon, as she shifts from losing light completely to entering into the Sun’s Beams, symbolic of death, she then conjoins the Sun and being reignited with life and fire, starts waxing on the other half. The next two Lunar Cazimis will highlight the Sun and Moon respectively. The Moon gets highlighted with this lunation, since both the Sun and Moon are in her domicile (home sign). The Moon asks what makes us feel comfortable, nourished, supported, and where do we feel at home? The questions of nourishment and tapping into the body become important. Especially in the first decan of Cancer, ruled by Venus/Moon, a lot of the imagery surrounding this 1/3rd of Cancer is about the connection between mother and children. Getting nutrients, nourishment, and physical support for the body becomes the focus of our renewal during this time period. There are new beginnings that are started with this New Moon today. What do those new beginnings entail? Well we have to look at Jupiter.
The Sun and Jupiter will square off today, which is a pivotal moment in Jupiter’s annual cycle. For Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn, all of these planets follow the same Solar cycle, where they conjoin the Sun, make the opening sextile, square, and at the trine: they station Retrograde. From there, they move towards the opposition (while Retrograde) and then at the next trine is when they station Direct. Now being direct, they will make the closing square and sextile, until it comes back to the conjunction. When planets square the Sun, the Sun highlights challenges that start to occur with that said planet. This square is when the planet starts to slow down in their daily motion. For example, You may recall May 15th as being an important day because this is when Saturn and the Sun squared off, triggering major issues with foundations, stability, corruption with government and infrastructure. From May 15th to June 4th was a period of intensified challenges with Saturn. Now when we talk about Jupiter, it will square the Sun today on June 28th up until July 28th where it will station Retrograde until November 24th. Jupiter indicates law, faith, honesty, oaths, religion, spirituality, and travel. I’ve noticed some important things Jupiter in Aries has highlighted, along with its co-presence with Mars in Aries, particularly with law and religion. The lines of religion and state being blurred is a theme for this year since in the Aries Ingress chart, Mercury in Pisces (exiled and depressed) was conjoined to Jupiter. We saw this especially take place around May 29th when Mars conjoined Jupiter, which is a malefic planet moving towards a benefic planet, bringing corruption to law, religion, and oaths. We see this in the instance of the Supreme Court (courts are ruled by Jupiter) who all lied under oath (a product of Mars and Jupiter), the overturning of Roe v Wade (which is interesting Aries is highlighted as the sign for this topic because ancient astrologers actually assign abortions and childbirth to Mars/Aries), and the loosening of restrictions (what Jupiter represents) around firearms and guns (ruled by Mars) have all been themes brought up by this transit. Since the Sun has entered Cancer, we are able to view these topics of both Mars and the Jupiter (since the Sun in Cancer is in a whole sign square to Mars in Aries) and understand the challenges that they bring. Jupiter wants to expand and loosen restrictions, but with a square to the Sun, its like something that has stretched passed its limit and cannot expand any further. It can also indicate challenges with oaths, agreements, faith, and trust in others. This New Moon is happening exactly as both Luminaries square Jupiter. This square is a defining part of Cancer Season. This square between Aries and Cancer will show where ego, self assertion, thinking only of the self, hard-heartedness, recklessness with faith, law, honesty, and trust all are in conflict with our needs for security, nourishment, protection, and vitality. You’ll see this show up in the houses the signs rule in your chart. Jupiter’s expansion from May 3rd to July 28th will need to be reviewed (along with the events that have taken place during this time) during the Retrograde period of Jupiter from July 28th to Nov 24th. Both the Sun and Moon link up together to MUTUALLY provide new beginnings of security and nourishment (with a dignified Moon). The Sun renews the Moon with vitality and energy, and the Moon provides the Sun (as its domicile lord) with resources necessary to be able to accomplish this. Together, the Sun and Moon tackle this issue with Jupiter together, although the ACTUAL issue with Jupiter is Mars.
Also today, Venus will sextile Jupiter (Jupiter gets a lot of action today), and where the malefics are working together on Monday, creating chaos and challenges, the benefics work together on Tuesday to try to bring more pleasant opportunities and experiences through communication, community building, connecting networks of people together, Venus in Gemini wants to socialize but specifically wants to use networks and socialization as a way to bring justice, balance, and peace— through building friendship and alliance. These may be things that are happening in hidden or in secret though since the Sun and Moon will both be averse (not in any aspect) with Venus, so they are unable to acknowledge this secret alliance that is being made. Both Monday and Tuesday are really eventful days for this week. These events might not be revealed and may have happened secretly, since the Moon is hidden beneath the beams of the Sun, but they become revealed later in the week (and month).
Wednesday, June 29th
The sky is quiet on Wednesday and no planets are making any aspects to each other within a 24 hour time period. The Moon is currently slow and moving through Cancer, which can just be an omen to take it easy today and to not move to fast. Tend to your body, your physical needs, and what brings you vitality, comfort, security, and nourishment. The Moon will be waxing for Wednesday, so the tired feeling from Monday and Tuesday should start to subside. The Moon won’t be aspecting any planets today, but it will start moving towards a square with Mars, so keep in mind that things might start to feel more tense as the day comes to a close.
Thursday, June 30th
[2:16 PM ET] The Moon in Cancer square Mars at 26º50’ Aries
[4:13 PM ET] The Moon in Cancer opposes Pluto at 27º48’ Capricorn
{8:39 PM ET} INGRESS: The Moon enters Leo
As we move into Thursday, the day starts off with a very SLOW build with a lot of tension as the Moon applies (moving towards) an overcoming square to Mars. Mars issues weigh heavily upon the New Moon (when the Moon is first visible after the conjunction). Mars represents fights, conflict, bleeding, violence, fevers, illness, labor, overheating, friction, and tension. A lot of this is felt in the body because the Moon represents the physical body as a whole. Both the Moon and Mars are not in reception with each other, so there really isn’t much sympathy between these planets. Thursday feels a lot more challenging, but it inspires action, courage, and fearlessness to deal with challenging situations. If you don’t want to escalate situations, it is best to not cause more friction or more tension, since when Malefic transits happen it is an omen that something is being pushed to an extreme (because malefic planets take the qualities of hot and cold toward excess and polarization). By embodying actions that exacerbate the nature of the malefic, you then increase tensions and could potentially make situations worse. Both planets in their domicile and square can indicate stubbornness between these planets, the Moon unwilling to conform to Mars’ demands (and Mars is demanding), and Mars is unwilling to change its demands. This transit also highlights the building tension between Mars and Pluto, since the Moon’s next aspect will be closely to an opposing Pluto. We will review this tomorrow. The Moon enters Leo towards the end of the day and will be visible as a crescent at night. Make sure to go see it!
Friday, July 1st
[11:49 AM ET] The Moon in Leo trine Jupiter at 07º32’ Aries
[5:58 PM ET] The Moon in Leo sextile Venus at 10º36’ Gemini
[10:13 PM ET] Mars in Aries square Pluto Rx at 27º46’ Capricorn
As we move into the weekend, we do have some benefics aspects taking place between the Moon, Venus, and Jupiter, which has seemed to bring the theme of community organizing, like seriously. The planets are getting together and trying to build connections and relationships (especially since Venus is in the 11th sign from the Moon, and Jupiter is in the 11th sign from Venus; Gemini is 11th from Leo, Aries is 11th from Gemini). I think a lot of this is in reaction to the very malefic aspect that has been building all week, which is Mars square Pluto. Mars and Pluto in aspect talk about similar things, such as power, control, Pluto brings in topics of hidden, buried, and deep rooted dynamics of how power (enacted through the government and state because Pluto is in Capricorn) places control on people’s individual autonomy, which is also another thing Mars represents. Mars doesn’t play by anyone’s rules, and thats why Mars is often singled out, and the feeling of being singled out can be Martian. Things can get heated and even explosive with Pluto— it turns the obsession on things up. Explosive fights, violence, and forces of control become pushed to our awareness today. In the midst of this tension and climactic moment, who is your community and who is your support system? Our social needs are important with Venus in Gemini, and thats what the benefics show us today. Check up on your friends, just send them a text, ask how they’re doing. Call them. For communities to thrive, everyone has to show up and be present for themselves and each other. Grief does not have to exist in isolation.
Saturday, July 2nd
[6:38 AM ET] Mercury in Gemini trine Saturn Retrograde at 24º39’ Gemini
[8:21 AM ET] The Moon in Leo square Uranus at 17º48’ Taurus
[4:52 PM ET] Mercury in Gemini square Neptune at 25º26’ Pisces
[9:54 PM ET] The Moon in Leo opposes Saturn at 24º37’ Aquarius
On Saturday, Mercury in Gemini makes a trine to Saturn Retrograde in which Saturn is giving its malice to Mercury. In the trine and sextile, the malefics give their influence, whereas when they square and oppose planets, they take things away. There is one ancient author (I cannot remember who says it at the moment) who claims that when Saturn is Retrograde, the planets it contacts also get corrupted on account of its Retrogradation. Saturn in this instance is giving restriction, boundaries, limits, and obstacles TO Mercury. In some instances this can indicate that Mercury is gaining more structure, more information, and understanding around the obscurity, corruption, and challenges Saturn is bringing during this Retrograde. The thing about Saturn Retrograde is that it starts to get brighter in the sky, up until the opposition, but it also goes through a weird phase of obscurity and hiddenness while moving towards the opposition. We might find out or receive news about secrets, hidden things, ancient things. All of this news might come unexpected since the Moon will square Uranus today, and after unexpected disruptions, interruptions, and volatility, Mercury’s next aspect is a square to Neptune, which brings a lot of confusion to our communication, messages, and networks. Mercury in a square with Neptune can indicate misinformation, leaking information, spreading false information, distortion of facts, manipulating the validity of information and messages. The Moon opposes Saturn by the end of the day which brings challenges with restriction, isolation, feeling unseen, and not acknowledged. Saturn brings restrictions and tells us no. The Moon moving from Uranus to Saturn brings volatility to foundations. Saturn and Uranus’ square is something we’ve been feeling since 2020 when Saturn entered Aquarius in March 2020, and that square almost perfects again in September, but with all the Taurus and Leo activity going on in July/August, we’re gearing up for another interaction of foundations shaking and being tested. Saturn shows restraints, blockages, obstacles, and things that hold us back. Saturn tells us to rest at the end of the day and to STOP.
Sunday, July 3rd
[12:42 AM ET] The Moon in Leo sextile Mercury at 26º02’ Gemini
[5:58 AM ET] The Moon in Leo trine Mars at 28º42’ Aries
{8:31 AM ET} INGRESS: The Moon enters Virgo
On Sunday, we end the week the Moon makes a sextile to Mercury, which brings an abundance of information and things to talk about. Our minds our busy, especially as Mercury applies to make a sextile to Mars. The Moon gets in on this action as it moves towards the end of Leo. The Moon makes a trine to Mars, and after we feel our nervous system running ablaze as Mars gives its malice to Mercury (both of the malefics are double teaming Mercury right now, but Mercury plays both side, when it is when the benefics it is benefic, and when it is with the malefics it is malefic). Mars gives the Moon more fire, and its the final bang of Mars in Aries, since next week Mars will enter Taurus, where it will move from the sign of its domicile (Aries) to the sign of its Detriment/Exile (Taurus). We will feel a sharp decline in energy once Mars enters this sign, so this trine really motivates us, can inflame things, and get our adrenaline pumping. All of this will be happening early in the morning (ET), and then the Moon will enter Virgo early in the morning (ET) and will highlight Mercury who changes signs next week. But we will cover that in our next edition.
