{7:30 AM ET} LUNATION: Dark Moon at 09º03’ Gemini
On Monday, we end May with the Dark Moon in Gemini, where the Moon finally sets underneath the beams of the Sun and then conjoins the Sun to become reborn, reignited, and for new beginnings to have their inception. This Dark Moon represents the official close to Eclipse Season and having both of the Luminaries in Gemini inspires us to be curious, ask questions, point out contradiction, especially with the ruler of this lunation being Mercury Retrograde in Taurus. This New Moon offers a fresh start of opportunities in the house that Gemini rules in your chart moving forward for the next two weeks. This will be the first Dark Moon and Full Moon in Gemini/Sagittarius that isn’t an Eclipse since 2019, so in the larger scheme of things, when the North and South Node were passing through Gemini/Sagittarius in 2020-2022, we experienced some major endings and beginnings in the houses these signs rule in your chart. The Nodes tend to flip the script of the houses they move through, and now that the nodes have left this sign, we are able to take a look at these topics and themes with much more clarity. We’re aware of the ways institutions, rules, regulations, censorship influence our ability to share and express ideas, and what ideas get drowned out behind the wall of orthodoxy. Mercury want’s us to explore and listen to who’s not being heard. The ruler of the lunation is Mercury Retrograde in Taurus who is in the 12th sign from Gemini, and Saturn is in the overcoming square from Mercury, representing those restrictions, limitations, and barriers being imposed on our speech, expression, and ability to communicate. These topics and themes started during this Dark Moon don’t just become relevant now because it begins the lunar month, but Mars will be having an extended stay in Gemini this year because it will Retrograde from 25º to 8º Gemini from October 30th, 2022 to Jan 12th, 2023. Mars’ station degree (8º) is very close to this Dark Moon in Gemini, and Mars tends to ignite or activate things, so what ideas or topics are brought up as a result of this Dark Moon in Gemini will become part of what Mars will be talking later in the year.
Tuesday, May 31st
[4:10 PM ET] Moon in Gemini squares Neptune at 25º14’ Pisces
[4:10 PM ET] Moon in Gemini trines Saturn at 25º14’ Aquarius
As we move into Tuesday, the Moon will simultaneously square Neptune and trine Saturn, while these two planets aren’t able to look or acknowledge each other. The Moon is simultaneously confused from Neptune, perception, information, and knowledge is distorted, and the trine to Saturn also makes us very aware of what is real, acknowledgement of challenge, and where one has been mislead. Neptune and Saturn both define the limits of reality (Saturn) and dissolve those which impose rule or structure (Neptune). The New Moon will take place tonight. Most people think the New Moon is the conjunction of the Sun & Moon, (which was yesterday) but the term New Moon actually refers to when the Moon first becomes visible after their conjunction, which would be today! It looks like meeting a deadline (Saturn) but with confusion or not sure what makes sense.
Wednesday, June 1st
{1:48 AM ET} INGRESS: The Moon enters Cancer
[9:34 AM ET] The Moon in Cancer squares Jupiter at 03º49’ Aries
[11:23 AM ET] The Moon in Cancer sextiles Venus at 04º43’ Taurus
[1:30 PM ET] The Moon in Cancer squares Mars at 05º54’ Aries
Wednesday brings us into the first day of June! We are coming closer the second quarter of the astrological year with the Sun’s annual ingress into Cancer signifying the beginning of Summer at the Summer Solstice. Instead of the Sun, today we have the Moon in Cancer. The Moon will be conjoined her apogee for all of her transit through Cancer, and when this happens she gets slower in motion, moving less than her average motion (the Moon moves around 13º per day on average, but when she’s conjoined her apogee she moves only 10-11º per day, so she’s considered slow). The Moon receives an overcoming square from Jupiter, traveling, moving, exploring, adventure, and doing things are all abundant for the day. Cancer and Aries energy is all about doing and initiating as these are the two cardinal signs during the spring/summer months. Jupiter gives the Moon some support in her own home sign, but it comes with a price, and it could be a little expensive, since Jupiter signifies wealth. The Moon with Jupiter does denote accomplishment nonetheless, but because it is a square, it will come with some challenge, but the person will rise over that challenge, according to the ancient authors. The Moon makes a really beautiful sextile to Venus right after, moving from one benefic to the next, and both the Moon and Venus are dignified. It seems like planets who are home and in strength are meeting up with each other, giggling, delighting, sharing excitement, eating good food, it looks like friends meeting up. The ancient Islamic Astrologers regarded the Moon as a benefic and Venus as well, and together in their domicile, they have the ability to provide their virtues to us. Towards the middle of the day though, things get kind of rough because the Moon will square Mars in Aries. These planets are not in reception with each other, but are in dignity, and their square shows accidents, conflict, violence, and friction that becomes intensified. You have agency on whether you want to escalate things, be careful of things catching on fire, burning, inflammatory things, sharp objects, hot oil, hot objects, overheating, and all of the like. Be careful of accidents while traveling. Drive safely. Don’t speed. Don’t drink and drive. Don’t smoke and drive. These are things you should do anyway but you should especially remember them when you’re dealing with malefic transits because the issues that arise from Mars are from recklessness. So don’t be reckless if you don’t want to get hurt.
Thursday, June 2nd
So Thursday is a quiet day, since the Moon will be making no aspects to any other planets. But 4 out of 7 planets will be in their home sign: the Moon, Mars, Venus, and Saturn. Today is a day to chill and to relax. The Moon is just swimming through Cancer, and so should you.
Friday, June 3rd
{4:00 AM ET} STATION: Mercury stations Direct at 26º05’ Taurus
[6:43 AM ET] The Moon in Cancer sextile Mercury at 26º05’ Taurus
[11:15 AM ET] The Moon in Cancer opposes Pluto Rx at 28º19’ Capricorn
{2:37 PM ET} INGRESS: The Moon enters Leo
[11:09 PM ET] The Moon in Leo trines Jupiter at 04º13’ Aries
On Friday, the pace of things starts to move in a more forward direction for several reasons. After a long Mercury Retrograde starting on May 10th, Mercury stations Direct and will start moving forward through the zodiac. Everything that took place from May 10th to June 3rd will be reviewed yet again for a final time, and when Mercury moves back over shadow, it represents the resolution and tying up loose ends to the situations and circumstances that took place. The Moon will meet Mercury upon ingress, delivering some very important news for today. The Moon upon leaving Cancer makes an opposition to Pluto which just feels really yucky. Pluto in hard aspect with the Moon will tend to bring challenges with physical imbalance, physically being pushed to an extreme, and a need to cleanse and detox. Luckily the Moon changes signs and enters Leo, and here the Moon trines Jupiter which looks like a lot of fun, socializing, gathering, people uplifting each other’s spirits, affirming each other to take action. The Moon in Leo wants to be seen and Jupiter in Aries gives the Moon the ability to be recognized for demonstrating one’s wisdom and knowledge. This is a good news transit. And it is right on time for Mercury stationing Direct. Friday night fun!
Saturday, June 4th
[6:15 AM ET] The Moon in Leo trines Mars at 07º45’ Aries
[6:46 AM ET] The Moon in Leo squares Venus at 08º01’ Taurus
{5:46 PM ET} STATION: Saturn stations Retrograde at 25º15’ Aquarius
[7:22 PM ET] The Moon in Leo sextiles the Sun at 14º19’ Gemini
[11:46 PM ET] The Moon in Leo square Uranus at 16º31’ Taurus
On Saturday, the Moon will trine Mars early in the morning which makes us start the day early, with excitement, with enthusiasm, but also needing to feel more balanced and nourished since the Moon will quickly square Venus. The Moon may receive a gift or make an important purchase on Saturday since Venus is the expensive, luxurious, material things. Mars really motivates us to start the day strong and delivers swiftness in thought and action to us on Saturday. In one respect, things are really nice, but in another, Saturn will also station Retrograde, the day after Mercury stationed Direct.
Saturn will begin now June 4th until October 23rd (141 Days) Retrograde backward from 25º Aquarius to 18º Aquarius. When Saturn stations Retrograde it indicates some sort of delay, reversal, extended challenge, that comes up in the house that Aquarius rules in your chart. Saturn is going to take the time to deeply look through the stability and structure in the house that Aquarius rules in your chart for one last time, because the next time Saturn goes Retrograde will be in Pisces next year, and then after that Saturn won’t return back to Aquarius until 2050. When Saturn is at a station like this, it indicates that someone is fearful for the future of what is to come. But in October, when Saturn stations Direct, it is like someone who is hoping for more positive circumstances to come their way. Right now we’re at a standstill and we need to do much extended review. What boundaries, structures, foundations, constrictions, binds, contracts, etc. are not actually stable and don’t provide longevity, but feel more exhaustive, labor intensive, trapping, restricting, and where you feel a sense of powerlessness through inertia. Saturn will work to loosen these restrictions and give you an opportunity to break out of what is holding you back. A planet that is Retrograde is seen to be rebellious, and when Saturn is Retrograde, it indicates breaking rules, going against the establishment, destabilizing, and breaking down of structure. Saturn shows further decay of already decaying things, and highlights what is not in good condition as getting in worse condition. These things will not happen fast though, we’re talking Saturn who will be Retrograde over the next 141 days. Saturn wants us to go deeper into seeking what is actually in our hearts that we know will bring us longevity and the security only permanence can bring. Saturn plays the long game.
For the rest of the day, the Moon will sextile the Sun, it feels very playful, the Moon is youthful, having fun, and in reception with its domicile lord. The Moon will eventually square Uranus by the end of the day which can bring disruption to our routine and day to day life.
Sunday, June 5th
[5:03 PM ET] The Moon in Leo opposes Saturn Rx at 25º15’ Aquarius
[7:12 PM ET] The Moon in Leo square Mercury at 26º20’ Taurus
Sunday feels like a particularly slow and lethargic day, while also having a need to be super busy. The Moon will opposes Saturn who is freshly retrograde by this point, and it brings somberness, slowness, the need for rest, to stop, blockages, barriers, and issues with rejection, responsibility, and burdens. The Moon will square Mercury too, which brings conflicting or challenging information especially as the Moon is translating the light from Saturn to Mercury. The Moon is moving Saturnian experiences around restriction towards Mercury, which represents speech, and there’s a need to take accountability for how the things someone says can hurt others. Saturn in the overcoming position shows us the weight of restriction, and the Moon and Mercury both want to express themselves. Breaking out of bad habits, binds or restrictions that bring out the worst in you seems like what today is unpacking. The Moon is applying to both stationary planets in the sky, because neither Mercury or Saturn are moving, so it also highlights major developments with the changes taking place in the house Taurus rules in your chart and the house Aquarius rules. Fixed signs are really getting activated this week/month!
