Weekly Graphic
Monday, May 8th
[4:27 PM ET] The Moon in Sagittarius trine Jupiter at 28º10’ Aries
[7:32 PM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Capricorn
[10:19 PM ET] The Moon in Capricorn opposes Venus at 01º38’ Cancer
On Monday, the Moon will continue to move through Sagittarius after briefly seperating from a square to Saturn in Pisces, bringing more somber, serious, and solemn experiences. However, the Moon moving forward will connect with its domicile lord, Jupiter in Aries. This is a really supportive aspect for the day, as it offers optimism, insight, wisdom, and liberation from bonds since the Moon is able to recieve the nature of Jupiter. There is an eloquence for words, persuasion, and generous. We may feel the generous and insightful nature of Jupiter, while also feeling the quick shifts into anger and joy. Sagittarius is a fire sign, so it does involve anger and frustration, but because it is mutable, it is shifting and inconstant. This is great for recieving spiritual, religious, divine, and astrological insight, dealing with philosophy and learning, as well as writing. This will be felt throughout the entire day until the Moon enters Capricorn a few hours after the aspect perfects. The Moon does take a drop in dignity here since it will go to the sign of its exile, where its qualities and things it represents bring more dissapointments and frustrations with feeling nourished, protected, and with intimacy. The influence of the Moon goes from Jupiter over towards Saturn, which brings more solemnity in our disposition and mannerisms. The Capricorn Moon makes one liable to feeling tired and physically depleted of energy, leaning into the Saturn principle of inactivity and inertia. However, Mars is the exaltation lord of Capricorn, so there is a focus on work, labor, and toil. However, the Moon will make an opposition to Venus in Cancer. This is a supportive opposition because Venus has just recently gained dignity in Cancer, moving into a water sign that is more supportive of her nature, wet, moist, and warming. The Moon is in more of a barren and dry sign in Capricorn that can make us feel grumpy and frustrated, but Venus is able to smoothen and mellow out the anxiety, pessemisim, and the inflexibility that can be found in Capricorn. However, the aspect is an opposition, so we would say that there is some strife that can be found in needing to mediate or balance the rough influence, or that the experiences would come through contenion.
Tuesday, May 9th
[5:38 AM ET] The Moon in Capricorn sextile Saturn at 05º58’ Pisces
[7:27 AM ET] The Moon in Capricorn trine Mercury Retrograde at 07º02’ Taurus
On Tuesday, the Moon will continue to move through Capricorn. In a Cardinal sign, it makes the pace of events that take place quick to initiate but also slow to fade. This is morphed through the fact that Capricorn is an Earth sign, so there is typically more inflexibility than cardinal signs would usually bring. After seperating from an opposition to Venus, it will make a sextile to Saturn in Pisces. This aspect is supportive in the sense that Saturn and the Moon are making a friendly aspect to each other, but challenging in the sense that it involves the influence of a malefic planet. Saturn brings more sluggishness, inactivity, and the desire to rest. Saturn makes us aware of the softer influences of restrictions, limitations, and burdens. The Moon will then make a trine over to Mercury Retrograding in Taurus, this can cause miscommunications, misunderstandings, issues with technology, challenges with tramission of knowledge, and forgetfulness. Mercury and the Moon connecting in Earth signs brings more serious news, especially as the Moon is highlighting a growing sextile between Saturn and Mercury this week. The Moon is also highlighting a sextile growing between Mercury and Venus this week too. This Capricorn highlights lots of hidden things, secret things, what is covert and concealed. More planning, contemplation, and being flexible to changing plans is required throughout the day.
Wednesday, May 10th
[4:19 AM ET] The Moon in Capricorn trine the Sun at 19º26’ Taurus
[12:38 PM ET] The Moon in Capricorn opposes Mars at 24º22’ Cancer
[7:52 PM ET] The Moon in Capricorn square Jupiter at 28º40’ Aries
[10:05 PM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Aquarius
On Wednesday, the Moon will continue to travel through Capricorn, moving away from the trine to Mercury, which brought a need to re-think plans, negotiations, and plots. Now, the Moon will make a trine over to the Sun in Taurus. This trine between the Moon and the Sun is nice because there is an element of reception, since the Sun is in the exaltation of the Moon. However, the Moon is currently exiled in Capricorn. This brings more slowness, relaxation, and harmony generally throughout the day. The Moon in the 9th house also brings revelations, revealing of knowledge, more clarity, and insight around the unseen and hidden. Capricorn really does carry those connotations. It also shows there is agreement between rulers and the people, but that there is support, praise, and honors that can be found today.
Those warm, sunny, feelings from the trine to the Sun start to intensify and heat up even more because the Moon will make an opposition to Mars in Cancer today. While generally having the Sun and Moon in a positive aspect makes today a day without stress and strain, the oppositon to Mars is much louder since the Moon and Mars are exchanging signs. Mars is in the domicile of the Moon, and the Moon is in the exaltation of Mars. The aspect between these planets is an opposition, which talks about rivalry, duels, and equal contention in conflict. The Moon and Mars being in this tense aspect while in an opposition shows mutual harm that is brought through conflict, aggrevation, and competition. Aspects of the Moon to Mars can embolden the heart, make people more impulsive and irritable, especially since Mars is not in a position of strength, it portends for more betrayal and deep cuts, whether it be emotionally or physically. Physical harm can be found with the Moon making a hard aspect to Mars, such as drawing blood due to friction against dry things. Mars can bring sudden disruptions, fervor, bursts of energy, and escalation of conflict. This aspect will be felt throughout the entirity of the day, but there is some relief that can be found since the Moon’s next aspect will be a square to Jupiter. The Moon translating the light from Mars to Jupiter highlights the growing square between these two planets over the next month. It is a very dynamic and active configuration because all of these planets are located in Cardinal Sign. This tension that is highlighted is quick, dynamic, but also fades quickly too. A square to Jupiter can highlight conflict with judges, law, and courts. However, it does promise there to be friendship, peace-making, truth, and honesty but it would come with conflict and strife. The Moon translating Mars’ influence to Jupiter can make fights blow up, become larger, and expanded through the nature of Jupiter in Mars’ sign. Disgrace from conflict is promise due to the debiltated nature of the Moon and Mars, as a result we see a clear strain on what we consider just, ethical, and truthful.
At the end of the day, the Moon will seperate from a square to Jupiter in Aries and cross over into the sign of the Water-Bearer, Aquarius. The Moon retains the Saturnian component of solemnity, silence, secrets, and self-preservation, but the Moon shifts to an Air sign, which highlights community, connection, and the way we relate to each other mentally. Saturn pull societal standards, rules, and orthodoxies to be called into question since Aquarius represents these topics. Our mannerisms and dispositions will become more inert, contemplative, laconic, forthright, and honest. The Moon will not connect with any planets for the rest of the day, but it will be applying towards a square to Mercury Retrograde.
Thursday, May 11th
[8:45 AM ET] The Moon in Aquarius square Mercury Retrograde at 06º20’ Taurus
On Thursday, the Moon will continue to transit through Aquarius, and it encounters a square from Mercury Retrograde in Taurus. The Moon is actually approaching Mercury right as it approaches the station degree, where it will start moving forward again. As we mentioned earlier, the Moon in Aquarius brings a focus towards the social orthodoxies, standards, and structures that are set in place, and there is much debate, arguements, and needing to re-evaluate the rules, laws, and structures that hold society together. Since Mercury in a hard aspect can bring anxiety, lots of mental activity, and stress into our lives since Aquarius is naturally anxious and contemplative, but Mercury adds a tricky component throughout the day. There may be challenges when it comes to technology, books, reading, messages, and letters. Make sure you’re taking efforts to double check important documents and information, taking time to revise your work, and check over the details to make sure they add up and make sense. Issues with translation and errors in numbers are prevelant today.
Friday, May 12th
(4:41 AM ET) Mercury in Taurus sextile Saturn at 6º08’ Pisces
[10:29 AM ET] The Moon in Aquarius square The Sun at 21º36’ Taurus
(10:43 PM ET) Mercury in Taurus sextile Venus at 6º00’ Cancer
[11:15 PM ET] The Moon in Aquarius sextile Jupiter at 29º10’ Aries
On Friday, the Moon will continue to move through Aquarius after encountering misunderstandings and technical difficulties from Mercury Retrograde. Some of that tension picks up as the Moon makes a square to the Sun today. We may find more stubborn conflict that causes us to restrain ourselves and puts more pressure, labor, and work on us as the individual. While there is reception from the Sun to the Moon, the Moon is pushing the nature of the Sun’s Exile (Aquarius) over to the Sun. This is the final square of the Sun and the Moon in the lunar month, so it also brings a decrease in energy which can make us feel sluggish. Tension with rulers and authority figures can be prevelent today too, particularly the frustrations and struggles due to maintence of the status quo, rather than things being changed. There is a social element to this aspect today, but it comes through thinking about larger structures that influence leadership and rules in our lives. Things should soften out as the Moon makes a sextile to Jupiter in Aries. This offers alleviation from frustrations and burdens, removal of pessemism, Jupiter offers friendship, peace-making, and freedom into the day. Jupiter ends the day on a more jolly note.
Aside from the aspects of the Moon, Mercury will be making two important connections today. The first is that Mercury will continue to Retrograde backwards, and it comes in contact with Saturn in Pisces. Mercury and Saturn in sextile brings themes of deadlines, reaching the limit, and brings seriousness into what is being communicated by Mercury’s direct station. Saturn brings slowness, ineracts activity, and makes the vibe feel stuck. This feeling of things being slow, not moving, and feels similar to a waiting room. A period of liminality and being caught in limbo. Into the weekend, Mercury will be making its apperance in the sky as a morning star, and its interesting to think about Saturn influencing this station. I’ve been thinking about the debt ceiling, issues with the economy, money, and news about finances being important for this direct station. There’s been a lot of talk about defaulting, and I think this could be part of the influence of Saturn. What becomes revealed is the deadlines of money, posessions, and what things are worth. Not necessarily that a default will happen due to this station, but there is news that becomes revealed that highlights the burdens, weights, and strain of Saturn’s heaviness onto this direct station. There is some good news though. Venus makes a sextile to Mercury too. It is really interesting because in this particular instance, Venus is making an aspect to Mercury because of how slow Mercury is moving compared to Venus during this time. While Mercury communicates and translates Saturn, Venus shows some element of aid, diplomacy, fairness, smoothness, and reconciliation intervening in the challenges that Mercury has encountered. Especially because Mercury’s domicile lord is Venus, the connection is very significant. Mercury is caught in the middle of a trine between both Venus and Saturn, which is the larger aspect that goes exact this weekend, but there is an intensification of conversation around the Saturnian and Venusian for the weekend. Whenever a planet stations Retrograde or Direct, there is always an intensification of that planets significations and topics for that time. Since Mercury is stationing Direct, there is more clarity of thought, comprehension and what to do moving forward.
Saturday, May 13th
[12:38 AM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Pisces
(2:56 AM ET) Venus in Cancer trine Saturn at 06º11’ Pisces
[10:43 AM ET] The Moon in Pisces sextile Mercury Retrograde at 05º56’ Taurus
[11:11 AM ET]. The Moon conjoins Saturn at 06º12’ Pisces
[11:50 AM ET] The Moon in Pisces trine Venus at 06º35’ Cancer
As we head into this weekend, the Moon will enter Pisces early in the morning ET, which brings more mutability, adaptability, and inconsistency in action throughout the day. The Moon will be applying towards a bodily conjunction to Saturn throughout the entire day, which brings more burdens, debts, sorrow, melancholy, blockages, restrictions, limitations, inactivity and delays; it makes people conceal their thoughts but they know the thoughts of others. It also makes us concerned with elders, old things, secrets, hidden things, ancestry, inheritences, the dead, and those who have passed. In the sign of Pisces, this can be burdens and restrictions on freedom, with spirituality, religion, challenges with water, polluting of water, and A bodily conjunction to the Moon takes more prominence over the other aspects that are taking place right now, but the Moon will sextile Mercury and trine Venus as well. The Moon will highlight all of the exact aspects between non-lunar planets, but the focus and the overtone is Saturnian. As a malefic, we feel the extreme influence of Saturn holding us back throughout the entire day.
The aspect between Venus and Saturn goes exact today, and Saturn is in the overcoming trine. A lot of ancient authors seem to give Venus and Saturn together in aspect as an indicator of weeping, crying, lamenting, and sorrow within relationships, love, the ability to relate and connect people together. Saturn is known for bringing those feelings, and especially in an overcoming trine, Saturn brings solemnity and solitutde to Venus. There is more seriousness, gloominess, and pessemism that is indicated by this configuration, specifically towards women, youth, and children. Saturn also conceals actions, motives, and thoughts, so secrets in relationships, secret connections, and interactions may be signified through this. Venus also entering into a sign with moisture and water while making a trine to Saturn can be another indicator of the corruption of water. One uplifting way to think about this configuration is that Saturn wants to bring longevity to what Venus wants to unify. We may find appreciation from elders, the dead, and from the past; a nostalgic feel lingers with this configuration. It can indicate scarcity of good though, since Venus represents things that are valuable. Saturn urges us to think about history, the past, and longevity which may come with a gloomy reflection. The Moon will make a trine to Venus as the last aspect for the day, so while things may start off frustrating and melancholic, they will shift towards laughter and joy. Venus and the Moon will be mutually recieved since the Moon is in Venus’ exaltation, and Venus is in the Moon’s sign. I find this to be really supportive for creative and artistic things, as well as trying to form relationships that are long-lasting and enduring. The Moon and Venus will bring love, pleasure, flirting, artistic, creative, and amorous matters into our lives on Saturday night ET.
Sunday, May 14th
[5:16 PM ET] The Moon in Pisces sextile the Sun at 23º49’ Taurus
[10:30 PM ET] The Moon in Pisces trine Mars at 26º51’ Cancer
[11:16 PM ET] STATION: Mercury stations Direct at 5º50’ Taurus
On Sunday the Moon will continue to move through Pisces, and its first aspect for the day is a sextile to the Sun in Taurus. This is a supportive sextile that offers acknowledgement, praise, honors, and agreement throughout the day. We will continue to feel low in energy because the Moon will be loosing more and more light, leading up to the New Moon in Taurus next week. Right after the Moon connects with the Sun, it will make a trine to Mars in Cancer. This can also be another indicator of pollution and disruptions with water, more fights, competition, hot things, and irritation that is felt on this day. Mars is emboldened in a trine aspect to dispense its nature, but it also energize and brings activity. This can especially be felt because Mercury will officially station Direct today. While the delays with Mercury will continue to persist since Mercury is still slow and closely sextile Saturn, the influence of Mars gives us more momentum, energy, and action throughout the day. Be weary of escalating fights and competition because the Moon is in a mutable sign, which can show sudden shifts and fluctuations, potentially towards irritation and frustrations since Mars is in aspect. Mercury will station Direct at the end of the day and starts to bring a close to this Retrograde cycle in Taurus. Good times are ahead, especially next week when lots of new action and activity takes place (such as Jupiter entering Taurus and the New Moon).
Good times are ahead 😎
