[8:38 AM ET] The Moon in Leo opposes Saturn at 24º41’ Aquarius
{6:53 PM ET} INGRESS: The Moon enters Virgo
Monday starts the week off a little slow, somber, and cautious as the Moon’s only aspect is to the Greater Malefic, Saturn. Saturn brings challenges with elders, older figures, but additionally, it brings a need to rest, pause, and stop. The beginning of the Leo Moon this past Saturday was nice with a trine to Venus, however the square to the Sun + Uranus on Sunday and moving now towards the opposition to Saturn: it’s rough. Obstacles are afoot, but the Moon will enter Virgo later in the day, entering Mercury’s sign right as Mercury gets ready to station Retrograde (tomorrow). The Moon is highlighting our discernment + critical thinking skills and how we can apply them to this upcoming Retrograde.
Tuesday, May 10th
[4:09 AM ET] The Moon in Virgo squares Mercury at 04º51’ Gemini
{7:47 AM ET} RETROGRADE: Mercury stations Retrograde at 4º51’ Gemini
{7:22 PM ET} INGRESS: Jupiter enters Aries
[11:27 PM ET] The Moon in Virgo trines Uranus at 15º07’ Taurus
Tuesday is the big day for this week, because both Mercury and Jupiter are making major changes on this day. The last time both Mercury and Jupiter did important things was October 18th when they simultaneously stations Direct after their individual Retrograde cycles. This time around (of course) Mercury is stationing Retrograde again, but Jupiter is entering a new sign: Aries.
Early in the morning, the Moon will square Mercury, bringing restlessness in the mind, a moment of pause, and reflection. The Moon shows where there is miscommunication, misunderstanding, and confusion. Take a moment to pause and slow things down on this day, and think deeper about the choices you need to make. Mercury will station Retrograde a few hours after this, beginning the festivities. Here are some common symptoms of Mercury Retrograde
Miscommunications and Misunderstandings. Everyone has their own definitions of different words and they mean different things to different people. Ask for clarity before jumping to conclusions.
Hiccups with technology, machines, mechanics, and technical details. This is a great time to take efforts to fix things that aren’t working.
Forgetting little details that aren’t that little. Double check and see if you have keys, money, passport, wallet, or whatever tiny things you carry.
Jupiter then enters Aries. Jupiter changes signs every 12-13 months, and moves through the entire zodiac in 12 years, so it’s ingress is pretty important since it is a slow moving planet. Jupiter represents, according to Abu Ma’shar (translation by Dr. Ali A Olomi) (this is an excerpt of the complete translation which can be found on his Patreon)
“It represents zealousness and moderate hastiness. It signifies triumph [connotation of collective triumph], abundance, righteous victory over wicked ones, righteous leaders, […] joy, wealth of good nature, wealth that multiples, […] good character, charity,(1) gift-giving, generosity, hospitality, love of helping and supporting, love of advice, broadness of mind, blessed friendships and companionship, […] comfortable living, faithfulness, keeping one’s oath,(2) teasing, humor, joyous love, wealthy adornments, spreading of joy and mirth [to the degree it lifts everyone], loving of justice and hatred of injustice, instruction, and friendship.”
These are the natural significations of Jupiter, but what the zodiac sign helps us determine is how supported Jupiter is to be able to bring about these things that it signifies. Jupiter entering Aries is big for a few reasons, because previously Jupiter was in Pisces for around 10 months over 2021-2022 (May 13th - July 28th, 2021 + Dec 28th to May 10th, 2022) where Jupiter was in the sign it rules, we call this the planet’s Domicile. When a planet is at home, it is in charge of the affairs that go on in that house, meaning it is in an environment where it can be the best and worst versions of itself (this may not always be the case if there are other planets in that planet’s home). Jupiter going into Aries means that Jupiter is going out on an adventure and is now leaving home. Bold and courages are themes that Jupiter expands on when entering Mars’ signs. Jupiter comes into to affirm Mars of the things it desires to accomplish, which is leadership, taking action, putting things into motion, decisiveness, quickness, and audacity. Jupiter’s ingress into a Fire Sign brings an abundance of enthusiasm towards embodying these traits. Jupiter’s elemental change is really important too, because Jupiter was in a Water Sign, having us do more internal, emotional, introspective work to understand what the vibe is. Water signs are Phlegmatic, and they tend to not have any form on their own, but their form is informed by their environment and the containers that hold them together (like a pitcher of water). The Phlegmatic temperament is associated with Venus and the Moon, and the Moon gives fluctuation towards one disposition, but Venus gives cooperation and desire for balance. When we take a look at the Fire Signs, their temperament is Choleric which is associated with the Sun and Mars. Choleric is much more energetic, quick to take action, and the exercise of the will. Choleric energy is the vital spirit that gets things going and calls you to take action. Mars is up in the sky screaming “JUST DO IT ALREADYYY”. Jupiter entering into a Choleric Sign has us more concerned about what we can DO, about our identity, and who defines that for us. What faith or ideology, philosophy, and perspective of the world informs who gets to define your selfhood? A lot of this definitely has to do with the blatant attacks on women’s right and the right to privacy across the country with the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v Wade. I’ve been forecasting this time period as a time where people are going to protest, be angry about something, and need to take action into your own hands. Now that Mercury Retrograde has given us the leaked draft (which will be reviewed and revised during the Retrograde period), Jupiter in Aries tells us “What are you going to do about it?”. And Mars says “BURN THIS SHIT DOWN”.
Here are some of my recent threads and Tweets about Jupiter’s upcoming ingress

In the house that Aries rules in your Birth Chart, you’ll feel more enthusiasm to take action, be bold, be courage, be fearless in overcoming obstacles and challenges that were presented here back in Sept-Nov 2020 when Mars Retrograded through here. Jupiter’s timeline of its stay in Aries is:
May 10th: Jupiter enters Aries
May 23rd: The Sun in Gemini sextiles Jupiter at 2º Aries (opening of events)
May 29th: Mars conjoins Jupiter at 3º Aries
June 28th: The Sun in Cancer squares Jupiter at 7º Aries (major conflict opens up)
July 28th: Jupiter stations Retrograde at 8º Aries (revision period begins, undoing of everything that was started previous)
July 31st: The Sun in Leo trines Jupiter at 8º Aries (Understanding for reasons of revision)
Sept 26th: The Sun in Libra opposes Jupiter at 3º Aries (Halfway point in Jupiter’s Retrograde cycle, this will relate to what was started on May 29th since Mars and Jupiter conjoined at the same degree where the Sun and Jupiter oppose, signifying the climax of the Retrograde)
Oct 28th: Jupiter retrogrades back into Pisces
Nov 20th: The Sun in Scorpio trines Jupiter in Pisces at 28º Pisces (Understanding what action needs to be taken moving forward)
Nov 24th: Jupiter stations Direct at 28º Pisces (Revision period over, the major conflict and change that was brought up as a result of the retrograde is on track to becoming resolved)
Dec 20th: Jupiter re-enters Aries
Dec 21st: The Sun in Capricorn squares Jupiter at 0º Aries (Release of energy and tension that causes the close to this cycle, similar to the Final Quarter Moon phase)
Jan 24th: The Sun in Aquarius sextile Jupiter at 4º Aries (Resolution and closure is received)
Tuesday gives us a major vibe change, more direction, more action, more passion, more energy, more vitality, and a collective sense of unification of morals, philosophy, and world view through demonstration of action, take initiative, and leadership.
Wednesday, May 11th
[7:44 AM ET] CONTRA ANTISCIA: Venus in Aries meets Mars in Pisces at their Contra-Antiscia
[8:17 AM ET] The Moon in Virgo opposes Mars at 19º55’ Pisces
[10:01 AM ET] The Moon in Virgo trines The Sun at 20º52’ Taurus
[5:16 PM ET] The Moon in Virgo opposes Neptune at 24º50’ Pisces
[11:59 PM ET] The Moon in Virgo trines Pluto Retrograde at 28º33’ Capricorn
As we move into Wednesday, our first aspect is actually a contra-antiscia that has been building since Venus entered Aries on May 2nd, but goes exact today. Planets that are Contra-Antiscia are aspected by their equal distance from the Equinox Line (Aries/Libra) something like this
Aries - Pisces
Taurus - Aquarius
Gemini - Capricorn
Cancer - Sagittarius
Leo - Scorpio
Virgo - Libra
Planets that are in contra-antiscia with each other are said to carry the nature of the opposition, bringing conflict and challenges, but these things happen in private because the nature of the antiscia and contra-antiscia is said to be shadowy. So when we see Venus and Mars in this aspect, while also being mutually received, Venus is coming to challenge Mars’ moral righteousness because it comes at the expense of both of them. Mars is in Venus’ exaltation, and Venus is exiled Mars’ sign. This can bring conflict in relationships, conflict in harmony, and it seems like someone is trying to bring the other person down with them. It shows discord, conflict, and feeling like things are out of balance. Wednesday is also a tense day because the Moon opposes Mars here. The Moon in Virgo, who is waxing in light, and trines the Sun only 2 hours after opposing Mars, serves the facts on a silver platter to Mars. This may be a day where you feel physically and emotionally polarized, taken to limits, and extremes. Be kind to your body and to yourself today. There is a lot of stress going on and could be some major conflict. Ask yourself is this fight is worth giving up everything for?
Thursday, May 12th
{2:34 AM} INGRESS: The Moon enters Libra
[3:01 AM ET] The Moon in Libra opposes Jupiter at 00º15’ Aries
[10:54 AM ET] The Moon in Libra trines Mercury Retrograde at 04º40’ Gemini
[11:49 PM ET] The Moon in Libra opposes Venus at 12º01’ Aries
The Moon on Thursday enters Libra where the first aspect she makes to Jupiter in Aries is an opposition, which is also interesting because the ruler of the Moon is Venus in Aries, who is exiled. The Moon in Libra highlights our needs for justice, balance, and equilibrium, but the ruler of the Moon (Venus in Aries) is in the sign of its exile. It highlights how we feel wronged, where we feel injustice, and the rage, passion, anger, and all feelings of being wronged that come with this. The Moon opposing Jupiter as the Moon’s first interaction with Jupiter kicks things off on Thursday with a bang. We feel this energy and enthusiasm to take action and take the matters of justice into our own hands. The Moon does have support from Mercury Retrograde in Gemini and gives us the ability to articulate what needs to change, how balance and peace can be achieved through exploring different perspectives and going deeper. The Moon opposes Venus in Aries by the end of the day, which will bring these feelings of passion bursting to the surface. Both Wednesday and Thursday are filled with rage, anger, passion, and injustice.
Friday, May 13th
[9:53 PM ET] The Moon in Libra trines Saturn at 24º51’ Aquarius
As we head into the weekend, which is the buildup to our Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio. According to Abū Saʿīd Shādhān in the Discourses with Abū Maʿshar on the Secrets of Astrology – Appendix C159 (translated by Horoi Project) he states
159. On the corruption of the two luminaries in their eclipse
(1) The Sun is corrupted 7 days before its eclipse and similarly 7 days after its eclipse. (2) The Moon is corrupted 3 days before its eclipse and similarly 3 days after its eclipse.
If we were to look at when the Moon becomes corrupt, technically it would be today. Eclipse events and experiences may come up specifically dealing with this Lunar Eclipse today. The only aspect the Moon makes is to its exaltation lord, Saturn, who is getting ready to station Retrograde in about 2 weeks. This looks like a day where we are taking a pause, taking a moment to reflect, and Saturn gives us wisdom and shows us what there is to be learned in this situation.
Saturday, May 14th
[4:07 AM ET] The Moon in Libra squares Pluto Retrograde at 28º32’ Capricorn
{6:33 AM ET} INGRESS: The Moon enters Scorpio
As we move into the weekend, on Saturday the Moon squares Pluto, which can bring up challenges surrounding control, power, power dynamics, and how this contributes to things being thrown out of balance. The Moon will enter Scorpio early in the morning, and this is where things get very challenging since the Moon will not be in the best of conditions this weekend. If there is a checklist of the Moon being afflicted (which there is) the Moon checks off all the boxes here.
Here is “The corruption of the Moon is in eleven ways” by Abu Ma’shar from the Great Introduction (trans. Yamamoto)
The first of them is that it is eclipsed, and the strongest form of this is that it is eclipsed in the sign in which it was in the base nativity of a person or in its trine or its quartile.
The second is when it is under the rays of the Sun, and there are 12 degrees between them in front and behind.
The third is when there are 12 degrees between it and the minute of its opposition as it is going towards its opposition or separating from it
The fourth is when it is with the malefics or they are aspecting it.
The fifth is when it is in Saturn’s or Mars’s dodecatemorion.
The sixth is when it is with the Head or the Tail and between it and one of them there are 12 degrees
The seventh is when it is southern or descending in the south.
The eighth is when it is in the burnt path, i.e. Libra and Scorpio.
The ninth is when it is at the end of the signs, because it is then in the terms of the malefics
The tenth is when it is slow in motion, i.e. when it moves less than its mean motion
The eleventh is when it is in the ninth place from the ascendant
When we compare these conditions with the Moon’s condition in Scorpio
The Moon is Eclipsed
The Moon is 12º opposite the Sun, in front and behind
Saturn is aspected by a square to the Moon
The Moon is conjunct the South Node
The Moon is in Scorpio (the sign of its Fall/Depression)
When the Moon is in really poor condition, it talks about conditions surrounding the physical body and health, it can talk about injury because Mars rules this sign, but one of the things it makes me think of is physical pain, and the way emotional trauma and pain is stored in the body. The Moon rules the principles of growth and decay, and she is highlighting where we feel malnourished, not taken care of, and where we feel pain. The Moon in Mars’ sign shows us where we feel hurt. We’ll talk more about this later and the circumstances surrounding this on Sunday.
Sunday, May 15th
[8:04 AM ET] The Moon in Scorpio opposes Uranus at 15º22’ Taurus
[2:48 PM ET] The Sun in Taurus squares Saturn at 24º55’ Aquarius
[3:15 PM ET] The Sun in Taurus sextiles Neptune at 24º56’ Pisces
[9:01 PM ET] The Moon in Scorpio trines Mars at 23º19’ Pisces
[10:27 PM ET] Partial Eclipse Begins, the Moon will start turning losing light & red
[11:38 PM ET] The Moon in Scorpio squares Saturn at 24º56’ Aquarius
[11:39 PM ET] The Moon in Scorpio trines Neptune at 24º56’ Pisces
The Eclipse will actually take place on Monday, but it will bleed from Sunday night to Monday morning. The Eclipse will be visible across the entire East coast of the United States, as well as all of South America. This was usually used to determine the effects of where the Eclipse will take place. The Moon fallen in Scorpio shows us where we feel pain, in the body, but also like trauma, deep inflicting pain that cuts an emotional wound. That is Mars in the Water Signs, and as a result, the Moon who shines through the sky illuminating everything desires privacy, retreat, and feeling physically pushed to extremes. The emotional effects the physical, so when our emotional systems are overworked and undernourished, we will be reflected in our body. The Moon was traditionally a ruler of the body, but it also is the ruler of emotions, its interesting the ancient authors made this connection.

The Moon opposes Uranus early in the morning, bringing disruption, conflict, and abruptness. Another important transit going on today is the Sun squaring Saturn, which has been building since the Sun entered Taurus, but the peak of their conflict comes today. When the Sun squares Saturn, Jupiter, or Mars, it represents the opening of a conflict that will eventually need to be reviewed by the time the planet stations Retrograde. When planets square the Sun, they start to slow down. Saturn is very slow right now, and for the next 2 weeks, it wont be moving more than 1º in the zodiac. Saturn overcoming the Sun which means that Saturn has the upper-hand in this aspect because it is earlier in zodiacal order (Aquarius is before Taurus), and this can look like restriction of will, inhibition, being cautious about decision making and taking action. The Moon will trine its domicile lord, Mars in Pisces, which is alone there with Neptune since Jupiter and Venus have taken their party elsewhere. Mars alone in Pisces highlights the challenges that are here after the blanket of the benefics has left this house. The Moon trine Mars looks like a wound that is open wide and needs to be healed. Full Moon’s represent release, but especially with an Eclipse on the South Node, we’re getting many overlapping significations of things needing to be let go. Things get kind of somber, serious, and sad, feelings of coldness, isolation, and rejection come up as the Moon squares Saturn as she is loosing light. This is the first Eclipse in Scorpio in the Taurus/Scorpio series from 2022-2023, so expect there to be some decrease and endings in the house that Scorpio rules in your chart. The week ends with the Lunar Eclipse, and it brings us to a heightened emotional state of pain and transmuting the pain into taking action, vigorously, and with fierce compassion. There is a sense of urgency that is highlighted, and Mars has us questioning whether our actions, bold moves, and decisions are worth it in the end.
