Week 18: May 2022 Week 1, The Week Ahead Horoscope
An overlook at the upcoming transits for the week of May 2nd to May 8th.
Introduction
Welcome everyone to the week ahead! You’ll notice that this email is coming from a new platform, Substack. This is where I will be moving my platform as an Astrologer to so make sure to keep an eye out for this newsletter from Substack in the future. I like the editor here, and it makes it so much easier to incorporate all the ideas I want to deliver to everyone. This was my Eclipse and Mercury in Gemini moment.
This week we’re diving into the first week of May, and you know there’s a lot going on this week. Venus leaves the sign of her Exaltation (Pisces) and enters Aries on Monday, which is the sign she is Exiled in. Uranus conjoins the Heart of the Sun on Thursday, telling us to expect the unexpected. Uranus is the planet of upheaval, disruption, & revolution, so having it conjoin the Sun looks like things need to be revolutionized and changed in the house Taurus rules in your chart. Mars and the Sun make their first sextile to each other on Saturday, which marks the opening of events in this Mars cycle that will eventually unfold into a Retrograde in Gemini at the end of the year. We’re still in the thick of Eclipse Season, since the Moon is waxing and increasing in light this week, but the buildup will be to the Lunar Eclipse on May 16th. Without further ado, let’s get into this week’s Astrology.
Happy Monday Everyone! Welcome to the 32nd issue of the Astro Weather Forecast, showcasing the upcoming astrological alignments for the week ahead. This is Week 18 of 2022.

Monday, May 2nd
[3:19 AM ET] The Moon in Taurus sextiles Jupiter at 28º15’ Pisces
[3:59 AM ET] The Moon in Taurus sextiles Venus at 29º43’ Pisces
[6:46 AM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Gemini
[11:05 AM ET] The Moon conjoins Mercury at 2º10’ Gemini
[12:10 PM ET] INGRESS: Venus enters Gemini
Monday is where we get an abrupt change in pace. The Moon finally changes signs (and will be visible at sunset as a New Moon) and Venus changes signs. Venus moves from the sign of her Exaltation in Pisces, where she is supported and raised up by Jupiter, the lord of abundance, temperance, & peace. According to Dr. Ali A Olomi and his translations of Abu Ma’shar’s writings on the planets, they claim Venus indicates “socialness and kindness, fraternity… joy, singing, dancing… the love of people, kindness towards others, peace-making, harmony, friendship, hospitality”. Venus entering into a sign where she is not supported in—in fact exiled— shows Venus’s lack of resources available to bring these experiences into our everyday life. Planets in the sign of their exile or depression are in positions where they are not supported and as a result, they have to innovate to bring the things they want. Venus in a Fire Sign approaches pleasure in a very straightforward and Venus here is a hawty. It’s not the same dreamy, puppy dog eyes, that Venus gives in Pisces. Venus is dripping in sweat, hot as hell in the club, and everything feels humid, sticky, and sexy. Even though our Queen is not supported, she finds love in a hopeless place (Rihanna also has Venus in Aries). Our ability to connect and relate to others becomes much more Martian, which can sometimes be aggressive. This could be in the bedroom, but it also very well could not be, and Venus highlights the proximity of violence in relationships, whether it be with friends, family, co-workers— Venus governs the glue that cements the physical sensations and experiences we feel from being emotionally stimulated. Venus is the more favorable aspect of this as the Benefic Sect mate of the Moon. Mars governs the way we are physically harmed, as the Malefic Sect mate of the Moon. Venus & Mars are doing this interesting dance this month since they are in each other’s signs. It doesn’t benefit Venus, and she is enraged with anger, however it does benefit Mars, since Mars has dignity in both Aries and Pisces (in Pisces by Triplicity. It’s on May 10th that Venus and Mars will make their contra-antiscia, which could stir up strife, discord, and lack of harmony. Venus has been stretched to their limit in Pisces, and needs to take more alone time for themselves this month. Venus wants to make people feel good but what happens when this comes at the expense of Venus feeling good? This transit is not about being nice, it’s about knowing the value in your self, and who are the people you should extend your generosity towards. Venus is more straightforward in where you stand relationally— are you with me or against me, and for what reason? There is more friction amongst our interactions this month, but this can be very seductive like two bodies rubbing against each other. The beloved Ursula Rising on Twitter, in explaining the concepts of Detriment & Fall tweets the following:

Venus doesn’t conform to how relationships should look like here, and breaks the rules of societal expectations on how to act or behave in relationships. Venus is unapologetically in her relationships endeavors. Venus in Aries searches for the heat of the moment, the rush— and you know what? Mercury delivers, because today the Moon and Mercury will both conjoin in Gemini together, making our day very chatty and filled with conversations. The Moon is fresh and new, and conjoining a Mercury who is getting ready to station. There’s a specific topic/idea we’re fixated on and need to talk about or explore more in depth. Venus is the planet making a sextile to Mercury (since Mercury is slow, Venus makes the aspect because right now she is faster than Mercury), which could mean these topics around defying norms around what pleasure looks like and listening to what your internal instinct is telling you. This is what Mars is about: the instinct.
Tuesday, May 3rd
[10:41 AM ET] The Moon in Gemini squares Mars at 13º58’ Pisces
[6:32 PM ET] Jupiter in Pisces sextiles Pluto at 28º35’ Pisces
As we move into Tuesday, the Moon in Gemini makes a square to Mars in Pisces, which makes this a day of arguments, fights, conflict, and quarrel. Mars is in the overcoming position to the Moon, in Jupiter’s sign, which brings issues of morality to information being talked about by the Moon. What is the “right” thing to do, or even say? These are the questions the Moon asks. This can also be an indicator of physical accident and bodily injury. Be careful especially around driving because Mars in Jupiter’s sign can bring challenges with traveling. Maybe tripping over a rock and hurting your foot, or stubbing your toe. There is support coming in since Jupiter is still in Pisces for this last week, and the Moon will square it tomorrow. Just be careful of being reckless with what you say and what you do. But, speaking of Jupiter, it makes a sextile to Pluto for the first time today. The Jupiter/Pluto cycle that opened up when they conjoined in 2020 brought up issues around wealth and power, surplus and power, and specifically with Jupiter in Capricorn during the conjunction, where there is scarcity since Jupiter was in the sign of their Depression. This is the first time Jupiter has an interaction with Pluto since then, so there could be some major news about wealth distribution, power, and hopefully repeating some benefits since Jupiter is in a better position (in Pisces). This is the opening of a cycle that will play out over the next 12 years, culminating by 2026 when Jupiter enters Leo and opposes Pluto in Aquarius. This cycle is more long term, but the exposition of events starts today.
Wednesday, May 4th
[7:50 AM ET] The Moon in Gemini trines Saturn at 24º27’ Aquarius
[8:15 AM ET] The Moon in Gemini squares Neptune at 24º39’ Pisces
[11:46 AM ET] Mars in Pisces sextiles Uranus at 14º45’ Taurus
[4:36 PM ET] The Moon in Gemini squares Jupiter at 28º46’ Pisces
[7:05 PM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Cancer
On Wednesday things get a little lighter as the Moon finds some grounding in a trine to Saturn early in the morning. This looks like getting a piece of wisdom or advice from someone older. A moment of mental grounding before tackling a somewhat confusing and disruptive day as the Moon squares Neptune (confusion) and Mars makes its sextile to Uranus at 14º Taurus. Today is an energizing day filled with directions to move in, especially as the Moon squares Jupiter towards the end of the day, we find a little reward waiting for us. Jupiter gives us an abundance of ideas coming in on Wednesday, also the first Mercury day since Mercury entered Gemini. Mars gives the opportunity to put these ideas into action and use on Wednesday. However this is the larger theme for the week. The Moon has their homecoming for the next few days when they enter Cancer. Which makes us wanting to feel more cozy and relaxed after the Moon in Gemini making our brains run at many directions.
Thursday, May 5th
[12:56 AM ET] The Moon in Cancer squares Venus at 2º53’ Aries
[3:21 AM ET] SYNODIC CYCLE: Uranus Cazimi (the Sun conjoins Uranus) at 14º47’ Taurus
When we look at Thursday, the waxing Moon in Cancer makes a square to Venus in Aries. These is tension between Venus and the Moon, and the Moon in Cancer wants us to feel comfortable, cozy, and cuddly but Venus in Aries can make us feel upset we’re not getting cuddles. Venus is giving the Moon a lot of pouty face energy on Thursday, since the Moon is in the overcoming position. Maybe looking something like this.
I love this square on Thursday, because it gives a lot of energy/passion to how we feel, sometimes feeling fricative since Venus in a Fire Sign. We have an opportunity to speak up and communicate about what our needs are. The Moon is our needs for emotional security and safety, and the square to Venus shows how these are in conflict with what makes us feel good, and in Aries, impulses and sparks of passion are what Venus wants, even though they’re not sustainable since Aries is great at starting things, but not sustaining them and keep the energy enduring, which is what Leo does, as a Fixed Fire Sign. Be careful of catching feelings for someone who isn’t approaching a relationship or interaction with that intention, things could get confusing as a result.
On the same day, the Sun conjoins Uranus, starting a new cycle with Uranus making important changes into the house Taurus rules in your chart. You may find some unexpected beginnings take place in this house. Uranus is the planet of disruption, and when it is conjoined the Sun, it feels like have a thought that you just cant shake from your mind, and then it drives you to take abrupt or impulsive action. Uranus shares a lot of similar qualities with Mars, except I think Uranus can be more volatile and out of control that Mars. You can temper Mars, but Uranus is the volatility of that which is not in your control.
Friday, May 6th
[2:01 AM ET] Venus in Aries sextiles Mercury at 04º05’ Gemini
[3:03 AM ET] The Moon in Cancer sextile the Sun at 15º45’ Taurus
[3:34 AM ET] The Moon in Cancer trine Mars at 16º00’ Pisces
[9:12 PM ET] The Moon in Cancer trines Neptune at 24º43’ Pisces
On Friday, one of our main events is that Venus makes a sextile to Mercury. Typically Venus is the slower moving planet out of the two of them, but because Mercury is about to station Retrograde (T-Minus 4 days) and is VERY slow by this point, Venus is actually faster than Mercury, and as a result, is bringing her benevolence to a much confused Mercury. If we look at the planetary speed of the planets for Friday, you’ll actually notice that Mercury is moving less than a degree a day. Venus in Aries making a sextile to Mercury in Gemini looks like a lot of verbal foreplay, witness, and even some flirtatious teasing. An admirer reveals themselves and expresses their desire.
On the same day, the Moon and the Sun are in a sextile with each other, which looks great for being recognized and acknowledged by other people. After the Sun, the Moon makes a trine to Mars which gives us a lot of energy and excitement today. Friday is really an exciting day and it’s filled with intellectual stimulation. Mars gives us the opportunity to go aspire towards our dreams and take actions to embody our dreams when it trines the Sun. It’s like getting a stamp of approval from the Sun, and then RUNNING with it when it gets to Mars. Most of these aspects will happen in the late night and early morning and then the Moon is applying to Neptune for the rest of the day. While it may be an energizing day, the Moon is still slow in Cancer, since her Apogee is there, so take it slow. Friday is overall one of the nicer days of the week, and Venus + Mercury are working together to bring courageousness in communicating our desires. Azula does tell us “Don’t you know that fans just makes flames stronger” in Book II, Chapter 16 of Avatar the Last Airbender. Our flames are burning bright on Friday. THE HAWTEST of Hawt Girl Summers begins with Venus in Aries.
Saturday, May 7th
[4:59 AM ET] The Moon in Cancer opposes Pluto at 28º35’ Capricorn
[5:47 AM ET] The Sun in Taurus sextiles Mars at 16º49’ Pisces
[6:25 AM ET] The Moon in Cancer trines Jupiter at 29º18’ Pisces
[7:49 AM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Leo
[4:58 PM ET] The Moon in Leo sextiles Mercury at 4º34’ Gemini
[8:01 PM ET] The Moon in Leo trines Venus at 06º05’ Aries
On Saturday, the main event of the day is the Sun in Taurus making sextile to Mars in Pisces. Taurus Season is HEAVILY informed by the events that took place on Oct 9th, 2021 when Mercury & Mars conjoined the Sun. Some trickery or deception was started in private/secret that is now coming to light with The Sun making a sextile to Mars on May 7th. Look at the chart here on Oct 9th, Mercury and Mars are conjoined together, which is typically a symbol of trickery, deception, slander, gossip, and weaponization of words. When Mercury is with the malefics, Mercury becomes malefic as a planet. When planets are within 15º of the Sun, they are invisible in the sky. So this trickery that Mars and Mercury are pulling is behind the rays of the Sun, aka behind closed doors. The Sun and Mars haven’t made an aspect to each other and haven’t been aware of each other’s business until now. This day is filled with energy (I mean honestly the week is, things are really speeding up as we move forward into May). The sextile represents the exposition and opening of events in the cycle of planets slower than the Sun (known as Superior Planets; Mars, Jupiter, & Saturn; I like the label Exterior Planets better), but it also represents the closing of events, because the only time planets make a sextile to the Sun is at the beginning and end of their cycle. Mars is the planet of war and conflict, so this can represent the exposition to some conflict that will develop more over the next year, eventually culminating by Dec 8th, when Mars opposes the Sun in Gemini/Sagittarius during the Mars Retrograde (Oct 30th to Jan 12th).
The Moon does trine Jupiter today, which is a good omen for getting support from a friend, seeing friends, being affirmed by a teacher and creates a day for positive affirmation. This will be the last aspect the Moon makes to Jupiter while Jupiter is in Pisces, so take Saturday to really soak up the phlegmatic vibiness of Jupiter in a water sign, because now there are 72 hours left until Jupiter enters Aries. The Moon enters Leo early in the morning, and now that Jupiter is in Aries, Leo Moon’s will feel a LOT nicer since there’s some support from Jupiter here. But on Saturday, the Moon makes a sextile to Mercury and a trine to Venus, so if you didn’t experience the effects of their sextile on Friday, expect them to also come up today and tomorrow too. The Moon in Leo casts a spotlight onto ourselves, our words and sharing ideas with others, and a trine from Venus looks like the crowd is ROARING. Venus affirms the Moon and gives them praise, joy, and basking in the warmth of the spotlight. The abundance of fire energy that is returning to the sky helps to inspiration more direction, action, and purpose whereas lately the abundance of Water and Air energy has blown things in many directions, spiraling things in a circle, but Fire is inherent in its brightness and nature to illuminate.
Sunday, May 8th
[1:41 PM ET] The Moon in Leo squares Uranus at 14º59’ Taurus
[8:21 PM ET] 1ST QUARTER MOON: The Moon in Leo squares The Sun at 18º23’ Taurus
When we move into Sunday, the Moon’s only aspects for today are a square to Uranus and the Sun which looks like a disruption to the party that Venus the Moon was throwing yesterday. Uranus squaring the Moon looks like a disruption in our routines and feeling physically irritated. The Moon is makes a square to the Sun by the end of the day, which looks like they’re in conflict with each other, because they’re square, but the Moon and the Sun are actually in reception with each other here, since the Sun is in Taurus (the Moon’s exaltation) and the Moon is in Leo (the domicile of the Sun). When planets are in conflict but they are in reception with each other, this indicates that amongst the challenges they can come to a compromise. The Moon is gaining more confidence as she enter’s her half phase. This may be really great for taking action to be noticed or recognized by others, or trying to work with people who are considered a boss or authority figure. The Sun in Taurus demands fairness while the Moon in Leo demands action.
