Housekeeping: Hello everyone! Welcome to Week 13 of the week ahead horoscope. It is super exciting to be starting this first lunar month of the astrological new year this week. This is a dynamic week that builds a lot of momentum for our Full moon in Lira coming up on April 6th. This will actually be the LAST Full Moon in Libra that isn’t an Eclipse in the next few years because in 2024 the Eclipses will shift into Aries/Libra, so whenever Aries and Libra season come around (March-April, and Sept-Oct) we will get Solar and Lunar Eclipses. They’re significant of important changes in the year as they only happen every 6 months. We’re actually going to dive into Eclipse Season after this upcoming Full Moon in Libra, because the Moon will lead to a Solar Eclipse in Aires on April 20th, which kicks off the FIRST Eclipse in the Aries/Libra axis.
Monday, March 27th
[3:39 AM ET] The Moon in Gemini sextile Mercury at 16º19’ Aries
[6:57 AM ET] The Moon in Gemini sextile Jupiter at 18º01’ Aries
On Monday the Moon will move through the zodiac sign Gemini, and in the morning it makes a sextile to Mercury in Aries. This is a fortunate sextile since the Moon is in a sign ruled by Mercury and it makes a harmonious aspect to its domicile lord. The Moon shows matters related to transportation, communication, knowledge, writings, documents, information and technology, while a sextile to Mercury shows obtaining knowledge, information, news, messages, and learning skills. The Moon in Gemini shows that our mind is constantly wavering and fluctuating throughout the day, since Gemini is a Mutable sign. Some ancient astrologers state that the Moon in Gemini is technically an affliction for the Moon since she is located in the 12th house from her domicile (home sign) Cancer, and the 12th house indicates sorrows, anxieties, debts, and burdens. Our mind may feel like its in disarray and our nervous system is pumping with adrenaline, since Mercury is in a Mars ruled sign, acting swiftly, with urgency, and forthrightness. Events are inconsistent and fluctuating, but as the Moon connects with its ruler in a Cardinal sign, we become more confident, quick, and decisive in our actions. We may feel stressed out, but as the Moon separates from Mercury, it makes a sextile to Jupiter in Aries. The Lunar aspects today highlights the connection between these two planets (Mercury and Jupiter) and Jupiter offers optimism, alleviation from restrictions, generosity, and enthusiasm early in the morning ET. Mercury and Jupiter will make a conjunction to each other on Monday night into Tuesday Morning.
Tuesday, March 28th
(2:50 AM ET) Mercury conjoins Jupiter at 18º13’ Aries
[6:22 AM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Cancer
[9:19 AM ET] The Moon conjoins Mars at 01º29’ Cancer
[11:03 AM ET] The Moon in Cancer trine Saturn at 02º22’ Pisces
[10:32 PM ET] The Moon in Cancer square the Sun at 08º08’ Aries
On Tuesday Morning, Mercury makes an exact conjunction to Jupiter. The effects of this transit will be felt throughout the entire week, but most notably on Sunday (3/26), Monday, and Tuesday. Abu Ma’shar (a Medieval Islamic astrologer from the 9th Century) says this conjunction indicates
“This indicates the people’s search for science, writing, and wisdom, and the teaching of fiqh[1], faith, and secrets; and plague and an intensity of the heat of the air.” - Abu Ma’shar (trans. Yamamoto & Burnett), Kitāb al‐milal wa‐ʾl‐duwal (كتاب الملل والدول), Part III, Chapter 2, Page 171
[1] Fiqh (فقه) refers to the Islamic Jurisprudence (legal theory and philosophy). It is the human, scholarly, interpretations of the divine laws of Allah, Sharia, who it is often contrasted with. Sharia is said to be divine and immutable laws whereas Fiqh is changeable and mutable.
Some of the major significations of Jupiter are around jurisprudence and law. Jupiter had connections to faith, religion, and the way religion organizes life and a conjunction to Mercury was said to be the learning and teaching of these things. It is an omen of learning, teaching, and educating, whether that means finding a teacher or mentor, starting new classes— we have the urge and drive to seek out information. This is a great time to seek out teachers, register for classes, and seek the favor of the wise. Jupiter often has indicators of judges, those who administer justice, courts, and legal proceedings. A conjunction of Jupiter to Mercury could announce some important news about these topics in the coming week. Abu Ma’shar also notes that when Jupiter is under the rays of the Sun it indicates the death of judges, so there could potentially be news around that. Mercury making a conjunction to Jupiter can also be an omen of legal proceedings, or news about the law. Jupiter is getting a lot dimmer in the sky right now, and it will be invisible this week. Jupiter will be consumed by the rays of the Sun, invisible, and getting ready to reset its cycle when it makes the official conjunction in the following week. As Jupiter enters the rays of the Sun, Mercury will exit, emerge, and become visible in the Evening sky right after sunset. The nature of this conjunction is fiery, and we see this in the elemental delineation by Abu Ma’shar, the air will be intense with heat. Mercury often represents winds, and Jupiter heat, together they create hot winds, especially in an Air sign. This conjunction brings fast, swift, and momentous energy into Tuesday.
Additionally, the Moon will change signs and returns back to her home in Cancer early in the morning. While Mars has moved the drama out of Gemini, they’ve brought it to the sign Cancer. Right as the Moon ingresses it will make a conjunction to Mars in Cancer. This conjunction is particularly interesting because of the contrast of the planets configured. The Moon is the domicile lord of Cancer, who brings comfort, nourishment, security, and protection into our lives, while Mars is said to be Fallen in Cancer, so its significations like willpower, fighting, soldiers, anger, and aggression are said to be dejected and the planet finds struggles in this sign. Whereas this is the Moon’s home, Mars is not having a good time. Any time these planets are in conjunction, they indicate fights, conflict, and enmity between people. Whereas the Moon in Cancer indicates safety, protection, and softens things, Mars shows sudden disruptions, fights, and abrupt interruptions to our sense of security. The Moon conjoins Mars is also said to be an indicator of lies, bloodshed, and complaints. There seems to be some anxiety ancient astrologers have around bugs with the water signs, so I would also watch out for bugs entering the home, swarms, and unexpected flooding. Harm from water and bursts of water are promised by this configuration. The Moon and Mars can also warn of danger of boiling water. Mars bring extreme heat to water. The Moon will be highlighting challenges with water as an element since the two malefic planets have shifted into the Water signs, which shows the corruption of water. The Moon will make a trine to Saturn, which indicates slowness, sluggishness, and delays our action. But it also conceals and hides malicious intention. Saturn is said to signify injustice in a trine, according to Abu Ma’shar. The Moon will actually be besieged as it is moving between the aspect of these two malefics, from the conjunction to the trine. When the Moon is besieged, it is generally a period of anxiety, one hardship after another, what one comes from is challenging, and what one goes to is also challenging. Saturn indicates restrictions, delays, bonds, and illness. The Moon being besieged in her home does not sound fun, personally. However, the trine from Saturn can also indicates seeking advice from elders, veneration and respect for the dead. The Moon’s next aspect after Saturn is a square to the Sun who shows today is a day of discord and strife but also dynamic and pivotal. The Sun and Moon in a disharmonious aspect to each other makes today feel very confrontational. There is a dynamic push for action and change, but it may mean we need to take a few step outside of our comfort zone. Bravery is required with Mars, but we may feel exceptionally lacking in that area as a planet in Fall is a planet who encounters struggles. Today is a really dynamic day on many levels, and it represents a completion to what started on September 29th, 2022, and what needed to be re-visited on November 29th, 2022 when Mars and Saturn trined again. The Moon highlights the trine they’re making to each other later this week.
Since Jupiter is one of the important planets todays, I managed to get one last photo of them even while they are so dim in the sky currently. They’re visible towards the bottom-middle of the photo below; take your eye from the Moon and bring it straight down, you’ll see Jupiter.
Wednesday, March 29th
[12:49 PM ET] The Moon in Cancer sextile Venus at 15º16’ Taurus
[7:34 PM ET] The Moon in Cancer square Jupiter at 18º38’ Aries
After the Moon had a rocky start in Cancer yesterday, the Moon will make a sextile to Venus in Taurus. This is a really supportive aspect for the day, and it comes as a contrast to what Tuesday feels like. The Moon was moving from a malefic (the Sun) to a benefic (Venus) and will then become enclosed between the rays of the fortunate planets. A benefic enclosure is beautiful and it provides safety, comfort, leisure, moderation, protection, and good vibes all around. Especially since Venus is in Taurus, this is a connection of friendship, especially because Venus is in the 11th sign from Cancer, and the 11th house signifies friendships. It also indicates engagement in dancing, games, music, going out, gardens, music, laughter, and sweetness. It is very tender, loving, and soothing. Cancer and Taurus are both signs that share the commonality of the Moon, since Cancer is her home, and Taurus her exaltation, both places she is uplifted and supported. Serenity, softness, tenderness, luxury, and beauty are all things signified by her. The Moon will then move towards a square with Jupiter in Aries, which can show concealment of secrets and faith. It shows challenges with judges, law, and leaders. However, Jupiter gives the opportunity to remove limitations, restrictions, and obstacles in our path, but not without contention, for the square shows enmity and confrontation as it is the aspect of Mars. Today is a day of joy, but beware of headaches.
Thursday, March 30th
[2:29 PM ET] The Moon in Cancer square Mercury at 22º04’ Aries
(3:03 PM ET) Mars in Cancer trine Saturn at 2º36’ Pisces
[6:31 PM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Leo
After the Moon in Cancer makes a square to Jupiter, it then makes a square to Mercury. Abu Ma’shar says this square indicates few false rumors and lots of debate. Mercury in Aries is more confrontational, forthright, and speedy in delivery and this abrupt news we get may disrupt our nerves, our sense of comfort, and throw us off our rhythm. Mercury introduces trickery and malfunctions with technology in a square aspect. However it stimulates the mind plenty, urging one to learn, study, and write. While this aspect stirs discourse and chatter, Mars and Saturn are having their exact aspect take place today. I mentioned earlier how September and November, and the events that took place at the end of those months would be relevant for the experiences and events going on now. This is because Mars and Saturn previously trined on those days. This trine indicates, slowness in actions, sluggishness, delays, and restrictions in action. Saturn acted as barrier to Mars, and now they’re finally able to move past that obstacle today. Saturn also conceals Mars’ actions in this trine. Abu Ma’shar says it indicates confusion amongst the people, and fraud with the religious and with kings, what can be interpreted as those in positions of power and authority. This aspect will be felt all week and will reach its climax today. After this, the Moon will change signs and enter Leo, a place she hasn’t visited since Saturn entered Pisces and stopped opposing this sign. The Moon will make no more aspects today, but it will be moving towards a trine to the Sun tomorrow. This is a really supportive and beneficial aspect that we shall expand on more. It provides a lot of clarity and illumination of knowledge.
Friday, March 31st
[4:29 PM ET] The Moon in Leo trine the Sun at 10º51’ Aries
On Friday, after the Moon has entered Leo, it will be moving towards a trine to the Sun in Aries throughout all of the day. The Moon is in the Sun’s domicile, and is connecting with its planetary lord, who is in the sign of its exaltation. There is a strong case of reception going on between the Sun and Moon where the Sun is receiving the Moon and they are in a harmonious aspect. Leo deals with entertainers, performers, those who work with public matters and attention, rulers, and leaders. The Moon connecting with an exalted Sun looks like receiving some honors or praise from the types of people listed above. This is really great if your trying to find ways to boost your presence and visibility since the Sun provides all of these things. An exalted Sun looks like a meeting with someone in power, in charge, and they are haughty, quick, young, and brash. The Sun and Moon in trine indicates the revelation and broadcasting of secrets, according to Abu Ma’shar. Maybe we will see important revelations about rulers and famous people. This is also a great aspect for gaining glory, recognition, and honors. This is also a potent time for revelations, prophecy being reveled, and clarity of mind since the Sun is in the 9th house from the Moon right now, and the Sun is said to especially rejoice in the 9th house because the 9th illuminates the unknown, as the Sun illuminates what we cannot see in the dark. The Moon is also averse to both malefics, so there is no interference blocking this recognition and spotlight that is cast upon us.
Saturday, April 1st
[8:06 AM ET] The Moon in Leo square Venus at 18º36’ Taurus
[9:24 AM ET] The Moon in Leo trine Jupiter at 19º15’ Aries
On Saturday, April 1st, we get another beautiful benefic enclosure between Venus and Jupiter that last only throughout the morning, but these are the only aspects that go exact today. The Moon in Leo making a square to Venus shows honors, beauty, grace, diplomacy, recognition and fame from music, art, creativity, melodies, and the creation of beauty. Venus is in the 10th sign from the Moon and she is in her domicile, giving her influence so strongly to the Moon. It also is a sign of cheerfulness and praise in reputation and public matters. A trine from Jupiter offers faithfulness, devotion, honesty, trust, taking oaths, protection, and removal of limitations that may come because of the square of Venus. Venus in Taurus can be stubborn, but Jupiter releases that stubbornness. This is great for learning, education, divination, engaging with teachers, seeking truth, piousness, devotion, and building community. There is a boost of confidence that Jupiter gives us to be bold, take action, and burn bright, affirming the ambitions and passions of the Leo. This Leo Moon feels really different compared to the last 3 years where Saturn’s gaze from the opposite sign (Aquarius) was sent into this sign which created a period of ongoing restrictions, delays, and blockages. Somehow this Leo Moon transit feels like a moment where the pressure eases up a little.
Sunday, April 2nd
[2:02 AM ET] The Moon in Leo trine Mercury at 27º32’ Aries
[6:57 AM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Virgo
[12:44 PM ET] The Moon in Virgo opposes Saturn at 02º54’ Pisces
[3:07 PM ET] The Moon in Virgo sextile Mars at 04º06’ Cancer
On Sunday, the Moon in Leo will have separated from a trine to Jupiter and moves towards another trine to Mercury. This is favorable for learning, discourse, sending messages to rulers and authority figures, and quickness in speech. Important news comes our way with this aspect, and Hermes brings it swiftly in this trine. Mercury is getting pretty far from the Sun as this point and will be visible by April 11th in the Evening Sky, so be sure to say hi to Hemes. Speaking of, the Moon enters Virgo and enters the sign of Mercury but things feel a little bit different now than they did previously. The Moon meets the gaze of an opposition to Saturn in Pisces which shows bonds, restrictions, delays, fall outs with friends, adversaries, and enemies. The Moon will oppose Saturn which brings delays and tiredness, but then it sextiles Mars in Cancer who should provide us with more energy and vitality, but we may feel exceptionally challenged in having any energy to do anything. Today is a day to rest the body since the Moon is besieged, in the aspects between the two malefics. This is the first time the Moon has been in Virgo since Saturn entered Pisces, and its actually the lunar return of when Saturn entered Pisces, because that happened on the Full Moon in Virgo in early March. Take it easy today, don’t do too much, and try not to get too irritated or frustrated. The malefics are loud on Sunday.
always appreciated your insights on mundane transit! it's my birthday week so like for me (haha thank god i have that cancer moon separating from saturn + mars), i always kinda feel the mundane astro-temperature of the week as like a mini-prophecy vibes for my upcoming year ~ especially like because it kinda entails the movement of the moon! tqsm blaze <3
