Introduction

Week Ahead Horoscope: Jan 31st to Feb 6th
Happy Monday everyone! Welcome to the first week of February 2022. We finally made it through January, which featured a very long Venus Retrograde through Capricorn and Mercury Retrograde. Moving into the first week of February, we’re coming down from Venus stationing Direct, and getting ready for Mercury to station Direct on the 3rd. Where there has been a lot of revision and change since December in the house that Capricorn rules in our chart, planets stationing direct here, accompanied with the strength and support of Mars, gives things more forward momentum this week. On the first of the month, we get a New Moon in Aquarius, followed by the Sun conjoining Saturn, bringing into focus what needs to be brought to an end in the house Aquarius rules in our chart. This month is about planting seeds and being intentional about what we are letting go with in our life. Saturn shows the long term coming to an end, and something new being born. When a planet is Cazimi, it is in a special conjunction with the Sun, and the planet is said to be elevated, supported, and strengthened by the life giving force of the Sun. But first, something must be purged before we can gain that clarity. Let’s walk through the week and find out, together.
Monday Jan 31st
(4:42 AM ET) INGRESS: Moon enters Aquarius
(10:25 PM ET) The Moon in Aquarius squares Uranus at 10º53’ Taurus
On Monday, the Moon will enter the sign of Aquarius, who is getting ready to be reborn. The Moon in this phase is getting ready to be purged and to bring everything from the last lunation cycle to be brought to an end. The Moon in an Air Sign makes mental patterns, communication, and our thoughts the focus of what should be purged and changed. The Moon in Saturn’s sign talks to us about what thoughts patterns we inherited from our elders, from our parents, from our ancestors, from society, and it gives us an opportunity to release ourselves of thoughts that are outdated, do not resonate with us, or keep us stale and rigid. There is a beautiful quote from Uncle Iroh, from Avatar the Last Airbender, I want to share with everyone.
“It is important to draw wisdom from many different places, if we take it from only one place, it becomes rigid and stale. Understanding others, the other elements, the other nations, will help you become whole”.
This is what Saturn shows us, when we chose to go against our mental blocks and self-limiting beliefs, we open ourselves up to experiencing something different, and something new. In order to find something new, we must be willing to detach from the past, but not forget. Saturn is the archive. The past is useful, but it is only the past. We can learn from the mistakes and wisdom of the past and our elders to do things differently in the future.

Tuesday Feb 1st
(12:46 AM ET) LUNATION: New Moon at 12º19’ Aquarius
(6:01 AM ET) The Moon conjoins Saturn at 15º32’ Aquarius
The New Moon goes exact on the first of the month, giving us a fresh start to February. It’s sobering and grounding. A recurring theme of this week is the need to find mental clarity. The New Moon gives us an opportunity to find clarity on what it is we need to do differently in the house Aquarius rules in your chart. Maybe we’re making the choice to end or leave something. The Aquarius and Leo houses of your chart will gain a lot of activity through the week, showing us how to be authentic and ourselves through detaching, letting go, and leaving situations that have nothing left to provide us. Knowing when to move on is Saturn, and this also becomes the theme of the day when the Moon conjoins Saturn early in the morning. Saturn has not yet entered the Sun’s Beams and is still in the process of ending its cycle, so the Moon coming to conjoin Saturn gives us a message for endings, blockages, detachment, and delays. It is a great time to find freedom from what holds you back and keeps you rigid. Things may feel serious, slow, somber, and heavy today. When we get serious with ourselves about what it is we must let go of, it’s not always an easy conversation, but they spark the motion of change that is ushered into the beginning of the new year when the Sun enters Aries.
Wednesday Feb 2nd
(5:59 AM ET) INGRESS: Moon enters Pisces
(5:32 PM ET) The Moon in Pisces sextile Mars at 6º50’ Capricorn
(6:57 PM ET) The Moon conjoins Jupiter at 7º40’ Pisces
After the New Moon, the Moon is now increasing in light, and after a serious Tuesday, the Moon enters Pisces, ruled by Jupiter, which helps to lighten the seriousness of Aquarius and Saturn from Tuesday. The Moon moving towards Jupiter through most of the day is inspiring, promotes creativity, togetherness, friendship, and the ability to find forgiveness and purpose. This is definitely a highlight of the week, and allows us to be open and expressive about how we feel. Jupiter ruling one of the three water signs gives us incredible emotional perception, intuition, and the ability to find wisdom and meaning when we are lost and confused. If you have a friend or someone you care about that you want to reach out to, use this Moon/Jupiter conjunction to lend support and a helping hand. We may find forgiveness and apologies given and received on this day. No one is perfect, but we can appreciate our ability for our emotional awareness and perception to grow and expand as we allow ourselves to be open and honest with others about how we feel. Honesty and trust are important keywords for Jupiter.
Thursday Feb 3rd
(1:34 AM ET) The Moon in Pisces sextile Venus at 11º33’ Capricorn
(6:53 PM ET) The Moon conjoins Neptune at 21º31’ Pisces
(11:12 PM ET) STATION: Mercury stations Direct at 24º22’ Capricorn
(11:55 PM ET) The Moon in Pisces sextile Mercury at 24º22’ Capricorn
On Thursday, the Moon will move to a sextile to Venus, who has recently stationed direct, and it carries the open, fluid, and expansive nature of Wednesday into Thursday. We find an opportunity to improve our physical environment and experience after being energized, inspired, and filled with cosmic creativity. Our imagination is divine. It is the way Spirit communicates with us. Wednesday and Thursday feel divinely motivated to help give us the freedom and space our imagination needs to bring itself to life. Mercury stations Direct today as well, bringing more forward motion to the house Capricorn rules in our chart. We’re able to get to the root of the matter of what blockages stand in our way, and what we can do to remove them. It’s a great day to get some good news, deliver good news, and have faith that our dreams can be materialized. Pisces and Capricorn are some of my favorite zodiac sign pairs because the practicality of Capricorn combined with the expansive imagination of Pisces fosters an environment where ambition is fueled to make our dreams a reality.
Friday Feb 4th
(8:37 AM ET) Mars in Capricorn sextile Jupiter at 08º02’ Pisces
(9:56 AM ET) INGRESS: Moon enters Aries
(2:04 PM ET) SYNODIC CYCLE: Saturn Cazimi at 15º56’ Aquarius
After our streak of inspiration and good news, we can now burst forward with the Moon in Aries and act on the blueprint that has been revised and changed during the Retrograde. The Moon entering Mars’ sign as Mars makes a sextile to Jupiter allows us to start thinking towards the future of what actions we can take to construct a future that values our sense of enjoyment, comfort, and ability to create community and connect with those who you love. This will be the last time that Mars will see Jupiter until the end of May, where they will conjoin each other in the sky, starting a new 2 year cycle of embodying our dreams, embodying our faith, and enacting our imagination. Mars and Jupiter are both in a position to support us now and in the future. If we start planning now, we can bring something bursting to fruition like a flower by May. The theme of planning for the future persists with Saturn entering the Heart of the Sun today. When a planet is conjoined to the Sun, it is said to be Cazimi (translating to in the heart). After the planet is being purged, in a state of decay, or dying, from combustion, the planet is rejuvenated, provided life-giving force, and energy to begin anew. The planet is reborn during this time, invigorated and inspired with perception and understanding. When Saturn is uplifted, we understand what boundaries we need to set. What plans needs to be constructed or mapped out. When planets enter into the beams of the Sun, it represents something being brought into our consciousness and mind, and when it’s Saturn, sometimes it can be fear, both other times it can be clarity on the rules, the limits, obligations, and what must be done. The Sun being in Exile in Aquarius shows us that there may be some actions and decisions we may not want to take, but they will provide us with a newer foundation that will help us find stability in the future.
Saturday Feb 5th
(1:27 AM ET) The Moon in Aries squares Mars at 08º33’ Capricorn
(7:56 AM ET) The Moon in Aries squares Venus at 12º04’ Capricorn
(3:22 PM ET) The Moon in Aries sextile Saturn at 16º03’ Aquarius
(5:17 PM ET) The Moon in Aries sextile The Sun at 17º05’ Aquarius
On Saturday, the Moon will make a square to Mars, which may create tension, anger, conflict, fights, and have us ignited with passion, energy, and a need to act. Mars is the ruler of this Moon, so it can be really great for getting your blood pumping and moving. I currently have my Progressed Moon in Aries squaring my Progressed Mars in Capricorn, and one side effect of this has been over-exhaustion and non-stop work. Headaches, eye strain, and sore muscles. Mars goes hard or goes home, especially when Mars is exalted, however, don’t forget your own physical capabilities. You are human and you can get tired and exhausted. Know when to rest and take a break. Venus can help to relieve any tension Mars may bring at the beginning of the day. By the end of the day, the Moon will sextile Saturn and the Sun, which gives us an opportunity to slow down and rest. Positive aspects to Saturn can represent pause that is necessary, whereas challenging aspects to Saturn can represent forced pauses or endings.
Sunday Feb 6th
(7:42 AM ET) The Moon in Aries square Mercury at 24º42’ Capricorn
(5:52 PM ET) INGRESS: The Moon enters Taurus
On Sunday, the Moon will square Mercury who has recently stationed Direct, and the Moon being overcome by Mercury gives us a chance to act on what changes Mercury has been bringing to the Capricorn house in our chart. We may get information that feels restrictive, that feels like it inhibits us, but moving with caution and considering the impact and consequences our actions will have in the future can help us to make better decisions to achieve our desires. Mercury gives us news and information that will help us to achieve stability by the end of the day when the Moon enters Taurus. I recommend resting for the rest of the day, our nervous system can become inflamed with the Moon in Aries square to Mercury, so it would be best to ground yourself through tending to your body. Listen to what parts of your body ache. Your body will speak to you on what it needs to function. Take a salt bath. Cleanse. Do some skincare. Take a nap. Rest is required for growth, because we’re not machines. Sunday can feel lethargic, but this is why it is important to water yourself, as if you were a plant, and create the conditions that will foster your growth.
