Introduction

Welcome everyone to the Week Ahead Horoscope. In this upcoming week, it is quite eventful. Leading up to the Full Moon in Libra this weekend, the Moon will be gaining light for most of the week, and by the end entering Scorpio and losing it as quickly as she gained it. On Tuesday, we’re faced with the Jupiter/Neptune conjunction, which happens roughly once every 12 years. Also Mars moves from the Saturnian terrian of Aquarius and Capricorn for the last 3 months and enters back into Jupiter’s territory for the next few weeks, adding another planet into the Pisces stellium in the sky currently. By the end of the week, we get some support from Mercury sextiling Venus. The two planets are in agreement and want to support each other, but maybe not in the way Mercury expects, since now it is in Taurus, there are looming challenges as it applies to a whole sign square with Saturn later in the month. This Full Moon marks the last lunation before we enter into Eclipse Season with a Solar Eclipse on April 30th. The energy and pace of things tend to ramp up as we get closer to Eclipse Season, so get buckle up! The Moon is challenging a lot of the planets this week from the opposition, and is highlighting the potential challenges of too much concentration of energy in Aquarius and Pisces. Most planets shift into Mutable Sign this week, so things can be somewhat fluid and up in the air, subject to change. This is a week of contrarieties, so without further ado, let’s get into it.
Monday April 11th
[2:25 AM ET] The Moon in Leo squares Uranus at 13º25’ Taurus
[7:00 PM ET] The Moon in Leo trine the Sun at 22º01’ Aries
[8:50 PM ET] The Moon in Leo opposes Saturn at 22º59’ Aquarius
The Moon in Leo is asking us how do we want to be seen? In what light should our identity and personhood be cast? The Moon is in her villain era as she will be facing some formidable opponents on Monday night into Tuesday morning. The Moon makes a trine to the Sun, which is favorable because she’s in agreement with her ruler, but the ruler of the Moon is also exalted. This looks like getting reassurance or confidence from authority figures or mentors, teachers, wise people. Fire illuminates with its light and bestows confidence and knowing what action to take, and the Moon needs it during this time, because she’s going to oppose both of the malefics, contesting their power and control, confronting the power dynamics. I mentioned last month that the Moon in Leo would feel particularly rough and uncomfortable, bringing up issues around judgment and visibility, being seen in an uncomfortable light, feeling rejected or outcasted for your identity or selfhood comes up, and let me tell you– I experienced that FIRST HAND LAST LEO MOON! It was so crazy, I was a mess CRYING. When the Moon opposes the malefics, you can expect how you feel to be stretched to its limits. The Moon will oppose Saturn by the end of the day, which looks like coming to an obstacle, roadblock, and needing to take a rest and to stop. Saturn gives warning that Mars is behind him, and the Moon gets ready to take on that fight early tomorrow morning.
Tuesday April 12th
[6:16 AM ET] The Moon in Leo opposes Mars at 27º57’ Aquarius
[10:07 AM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Virgo
[10:42 AM ET] Jupiter conjoins Neptune at 23º58’ Pisces
[4:54 PM ET] The Moon in Virgo trines Mercury at 03º37’ Taurus
[8:14 PM ET] The Sun in Aries sextile Saturn at 23º03’ Aquarius
Tomorrow morning begins with a BANG. The Moon opposes Mars which incites violence, conflict, anger, aggression, and public display of anger since the Moon is close to Regulus. The Moon is waxing and increasing in light so she has confidence in this opposition, and as stated yesterday, she is affirmed in this by her ruler, which is the Sun, who is also in contention with Mars, since it is in the sign that the Sun doesn’t like to be in (Aquarius). Feeling self-conscious and like someone is attacking your identity, sense of self or reputation can come up today. The Moon then enters into Virgo to get some grounding in the facts and details, and the Moon is affirmed in the facts and details by Mercury in Taurus, who she is in a harmonious relationship with currently.
Another aspect that is taking place today, and its something that’s been building since Jupiter originally entered into Pisces earlier in December is the Jupiter/Neptune conjunction.
Jupiter in Pisces is exaggerating the illusion & distortion of truth that Neptune has brought to this sign since its ingress in 2012. Tread very lightly with things seeming too good to be true, since Neptune can indicate things that elude someone, they’re hidden or sneaky, Jupiter brings belief in the schemes that Neptune creates. Jupiter and Neptune are both at the beginning of their Solar Phase cycle too. You might not realize things are too good to be true now, but by the time Jupiter stations Retrograde (July 28th) you will understand. And when Neptune stations Retrograde (June 28th). One great example that my friend and colleague Liam Sofias said Neptune does as an Outer Planet is it is like the same effect as if you put a pencil behind a bottle of water, and if you look through the water, the pen will be distorted and refracted. Diffusion of light and boundaries are what Neptune does.
One of the other things I’ve been thinking a lot about with this conjunction is that both Jupiter and Neptune have lots of imagery associated with water, since Poseidon (Neptune) is the God of the Sea and Jupiter has connotations with rain, thunder, and clouds, and how my friend and colleague Alyssia at Praxis Astrology had their building’s laundry room flooding during the Jupiter/Neptune conjunction. These are definitely themes I’ve been thinking about as well too, as Jupiter in Pisces is in a water sign, highlighting the magnanimity or excess of water, and Neptune represents leaks or breaking down and dissolving of barriers. Neptune dissolves the walls that Saturn sets up. In my personal approach to outer planets, a big distinction interpretation I use is that all the outer planets are not regularly visible, and they’re concerned with 1) larger generational cycles 2) because they’re all past Saturn, who represents the limit of visibility, in some way, they’re representing whats on the exterior of the container Saturn has created. What is outside the limits, outside the walls, and outside the boundaries of what we can perceive? Jupiter comes to confront whatever lies or mysteries Neptune has created here, since Jupiter has not conjoined Neptune in this sign since 2012. Neptune has had a LOT of time to distort things, twist the truth, and create mystery. Pisces represents the truth, things surrounding indulgence, beauty, art, because Venus has some level of influence over this sign, but with Jupiter faith, or assistance, and somehow that vanishing out of thin air with Neptune or not making sense. Neptune has a lot to contribute to misinformation around COVID, and everyone acting like this pandemic is over, when the Mars/Saturn conjunction brings diseases and a new set of problems for the next 2 years, since they conjoined in an air sign. Be careful of rumors, conspiracies theories, rumors, false oaths, and things being too good to be true.
This day is also kind of crazy too because the Sun makes a sextile to Saturn, which opens up 2022’s cycle of dealing with Saturn. Planets that make sextiles to the Sun are said to be their strongest because they’re faster than their average motion. For the exterior planets (Mars, Jupiter, & Saturn) this is important because they’re the fastest & quickest in bringing about the things that they represent.
Now that the Sun sextiled Saturn, this indicates Saturn will start slowing down, eventually stationing Retrograde by June 4th, 2022. That’s only 2 months from now. You’ll start to see an opening of what Saturn is seeking to revise in the house Aquarius rules in your chart through the Sun in Aries. When Saturn goes Retrograde it shows where foundations are brittle and shakey. As for today, the Sun brings the willingness to take on responsibility and to address the issues that Mars highlighted with Saturn. Mars highlights structural issues with Saturn in this part of Aquarius. Dr. Ali A Olomi calls the Mars/Saturn conjunction revealing structural cracks and broken foundations. The Sun will address authoritative matters to address these flaws, tending towards structural flaws and wounds.
Al Biruni tells us that when Saturn is a Morning Star it indicates:
Beginning of old age, happy in farming and art of irrigation, profound and affective Judgment, sharp and authoritative dispatch of all business matters.
Wednesday April 13th
[1:27 AM ET] The Moon in Virgo opposes Venus at 08º13’ Pisces
As we move into Wednesday, the Moon opposes Venus, which is nice for the Moon because she will be enclosed between the benefics from Wednesday to Thursday. Even though enclosed between benefics, the Moon is in conflict with Venus today which can make it challenging to feel balanced due to seeing flaws or critiques. It could be tough to hear a critique today that may actually be beneficial or help you. The Moon brings discernment to Venus and says not everything or everyone can be perfect and that’s okay. It is okay to have high expectations but it is okay to not meet them as well too. In some instances, this opposition can be great for creative works and bringing something towards full cultivation since the Moon in Virgo is waxing in light, and Virgo is typically representative of the harvest. Mercury is tasked with mediating the conflict the Moon brings to Venus, since it trined the Moon yesterday and sextiles Venus later this week. The Moon isn’t really doing much for the majority of the day though, so you might feel mentally all over the place in Virgo, but with barely any aspects for the day, the need to rest and relax swarms over, it’s time to take it easy and go slow. Venus says stop and smell the flowers, and the Moon asks a million questions. Venus encourages the Moon to just BE.
Thursday April 14th
[6:11 AM ET] The Moon in Virgo opposes Neptune at 24º02’ Pisces
[6:48 AM ET] The Moon in Virgo opposes Jupiter at 24º23’ Pisces
[4:45 PM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Libra
[11:05 PM ET] INGRESS: Mars enters Pisces
As we move into Thursday, the Moon has us looking confident with a keen eye through all of the shady and fogginess going on with Jupiter and Neptune. The day can feel somewhat confusing and our faith and trust is challenged by the Moon sniffing out the bullshit. The Moon will eventually move into the sign of Libra by the end of the day, where she will get ready to become full by Saturday. On the same day, Mars will enter the Mutable Water sign Pisces until May 24th, under the rulership of Jupiter who is also in this sign with Venus
Mars represents courage, vigor, boldness, fighting, conflict, transgression, stimulates action, and puts things into motion. For the past 3 months (since Jan 24th) Mars has been playing by Saturn’s rules, going strategically, tactfully, and with hesitation and restriction. Especially as Mars is conjoined Saturn on April 4th, Mars was held back by Saturn. But now, Mars moves into Jupiter’s territory. Mars was recently here in Sagittarius from Dec 13th to Jan 24th, but operating under Jupiter in Aquarius/Pisces from the square. Mars will be co-present (in the same sign) with Jupiter and Mars doesn’t have the same level of restraint it did in Capricorn or Aquarius. Mars in Pisces is a Mars that shows no fear because action is inspired by faith. One of the issues this brings up is the stability of one’s faith, because Neptune is in the picture yet again, and is playing an important role Mars will be moving through Pisces, chasing Venus and Jupiter and applying towards a conjunction, but both Venus and Jupiter change signs before their conjunction happens. This is called an “Escape”, and it’s like an opportunity slipping through one’s fingers. The Arabic term for this is فات which refers to an opportunity passing by, or something that eludes someone. There are circumstances that start brewing in the Pisces house of your chart, but they may slip out of your fingers. In the Latin texts, they use the term “frustratio”, which exclaims there’s an element of frustration or disappointment.
Ruled by Jupiter, Mars’ courage is fueled by faith, and its kind of like Jupiter is supporting Mars in an effort to fight for temperance and peace, but circumstances change, or action is taken too late, and so now Mars and Jupiter will conjoin in Aries, in Mars’ territory. Mars will be initially disappointed that Jupiter isn’t bringing balance so Mars says “if you want something done right, you gotta do it yourself”. When Mars and Jupiter conjoin, one of the issues that is very common is lying or false oaths. Even more so with the fact that the opportunity for Mars to attain Jupiter slips through their fingers in Pisces, and instead Mars conjoins Neptune. We may feel very confident or assured in our actions aligning with our morals or what society accepts as a standard of morality, but then as the weeks go on, we start to feel less confident and sure about what we place our faith in, and things get confusing. Mars is the faster-moving planet, so Mars is making the aspect to Jupiter, who is the slower-moving planet. As a malefic, Mars is bringing challenging experiences towards Jupiter. Jupiter is the faith we have in others, confidence in others, trust, and seeing the good in others. When Mars is with Jupiter, Mars can bring an attack on friendship, an attack on the faith and trust people have in each other. Jupiter exaggerates Mars’ anger, so be careful of escalating situations because Jupiter amplifies whatever it touches. One of the other things that can come out of Mars in Pisces is the willingness to make bold risky decisions, where the stakes of what can be gained and lost are high. High stakes are what Mars in Pisces and Sagittarius represent. Because this time around there is this escaping configuration. This can look like putting all your eggs in one basket & then Neptune decides the basket isn’t real and it all disappears into thin air! Neptune has a reputation for doing that, & distorting the truth.
Use more discernment when taking action for these next few weeks. Mars in Pisces works best with a mission and with a purpose, and the reason why you’re taking action may seem foggy or unclear. Mob mentality is something you can see with Mars in Jupiter’s sign, so do not be afraid to question the faith in which your actions are taken in. Pisces is all about trust, and Mars in this sign is about learning to trust your bodily instincts for what action you should take. The experience of Mars is visceral and something we can physically engage in, whereas Saturn tends to be more mental, spiritual, and intangible. Mars asks you to turn inward for gut feelings. What does your GUT tell you? How do you learn to trust your gut and instincts?
Mars has substantial dignity in Pisces, having as much strength as it would in its home sign from 20°-28° Pisces. Mars is willing to do whatever it takes for something that brings Mars pleasure, because those are Mars’ motivations in Pisces, the sign of indulgence. Indulgence can become harmful with a malefic in this sign. Mars in a Jupiter ruled sign makes me think of the Crusades, wars fought over religion, conflict of beliefs, conflict over morality, conflict over philosophy and ideology. Conflict over what is considered right or moral, what is the “right” thing to do? Who determines what it means to be right? & how is the truth weaponized against you to silence your power? Protests & gatherings of angry people is Mars in Jupiter’s sign. Fighting for what’s right. These are themes that will play out over the next few weeks. In many ways you can feel very inspired and motivated to take action in the house Pisces rules in your chart, feeling more vigor, more drive, and more energy to chase after your desire and attain your goals.
Mars is willing to risk it all here. Till the very end. One of the things I’ve noticed with Mars moving through this sign is the archetype of martyrs and sacrifice.
Friday April 15th
The sky is quiet on Friday as the Moon moves through Libra, she actually won’t be aspecting many planets, only the Sun and Saturn. This will happen tomorrow. Take some time to stop and smell the flowers. The sky is quiet so take time to rest, take time to clean, and take time to bring balance to your life and to others.
Saturday April 16th
[9:06 AM ET] The Moon in Libra trines Saturn at 23º20’ Aquarius
[2:55 PM ET] FULL MOON: Full Moon at 26º45’ Libra
[5:56 PM ET] The Moon in Libra squares Pluto at 28º33’ Capricorn
[8:22 PM ET] INGRESS: The Moon enters Scorpio
[10:54 PM ET] The Moon in Scorpio trines Mars at 01º30’ Pisces
As we move into the weekend, we have our Full Moon in Libra which will actually trine Saturn right before, and if there’s any planet I would say rules the lunation, it is Saturn. Especially since Saturn is in agreement with both the Sun and Moon, it looks like Saturn is getting permission from the Sun and Moon to bring some legal matter or relationship to culmination. The Moon in Libra is expected to bring justice and balance, the Saturn tempers the Sun’s ambition. The Moon challenges the exalted Sun in Aries, seeking to temper the ambition of a powerful authority figure. Pluto is VERY closely square to the Full Moon, which looks like addresses power dynamics, feeling of control, powerlessness, and where things have been one-sided or unfair. The Moon highlights what needs more maintenance and where tensions need to be eased. Hyper fixation and obsessiveness can be something that occurs with Pluto in the mix. Check your own shadow before you start pointing out others.
Vettius Valens in Book 2, Chapter 36 tells us that “The first lord of the waning of the light gives indications concerning the diminishment of belongings and difficulties” and as the Moon enters Scorpio, she will begin to start losing light, ruled by Mars in Pisces, and making a trine to Mars by the end of the day. The Moon begins to lose light and enters into the sign of her Depression. The Moon in Scorpio being the sign the Moon starts waning tells us that there would be issues with health and maltreatment, neglect, and malnourishment of the Moon. One of the things Mars in Pisces can indicate as the lord of the Moon is overexposure to illness (no protection because Mars is in Jupiter’s sign vulnerable with no boundaries). It can also indicate challenges with water or harm that is caused from water since Mars is in a Water sign. Dr Ali A Olomi mentioned in his most recent video on his Patreon that Mars in Pisces also is a sign of dealing with bug infestations (I am currently dealing with). I’ve found that trines with the malefics can make their influence easily accessible, so you may be more susceptible to being hurt or exposed to harm, especially during Scorpio Rising in your location (usually around 8:30 PM to 10:30 PM Local time (in your location)). I remember one time it was Scorpio Rising, and Mars was actually in the opposite sign in Virgo, and it was opposing the Moon in Pisces and I got stung by a jellyfish while swimming in the water at the beach. Getting stung by bugs is easy during this day. Keep on the lookout!
Sunday April 17th
[6:43 PM ET] The Moon in Scorpio opposes Mercury at 13º21’ Taurus
[6:50 PM ET] The Moon in Scorpio trines Venus at 13º25’ Pisces
[7:27 PM ET] The Moon in Scorpio opposes Uranus at 13º48’ Taurus
[9:09 PM ET] Mercury in Taurus sextile Venus at 13º32’ Pisces
On Sunday, Mercury makes a trine to Venus today, and it looks like there are negotiations and agreements being made between Venus and Mercury. This can actually be really great for artistic and creative matters, but the Moon on the South Node looks like she’s hungry and wants food. Issues around the supply chain become relevant with this Scorpio Moon, especially with pricing as the Moon opposes Mercury. One of the issues that is coming from this is that Mercury is creating trickery in Taurus with resources but the ruler is Venus in Pisces making these resources a luxury, and the Moon (the people) are experiencing this malnourishment as a result. This is a time to really think about not only literally how you are hungry, and how can you get intentional about what you consume and eat amidst the corruption in inflation from companies raising the prices of their products. This is a good time to think about the ways in which you feel not taken care of, and how you can work to get them taken care of. The Moon will make a trine to Venus, which can be really nice for being able to transmute pain into art. The Moon in Scorpio on the South Node doesn’t always feel the best, and it can feel like we’re in a lot of pain, and we’re physically exhausted and overwhelmed. Venus in trine can help to aid with cooling what is overwhelming and inflaming. Dr Olomi also mentioned that Mars in Pisces with the Moon in Scorpio would be an indication of fevers. Venus is like aloe to a burn-in this scenario. This could come somewhat unexpectedly because the Moon will oppose Uranus, but by the end of the day, Mercury sextiles Venus. Mercury is able to obtain support from its domicile lord, and is acting benefic since it is with the benefics, but it can be somewhat confusing for Mercury because Venus is giving Mercury resources that are good for Venus things (diplomacy, peace, things sounding sweet) but bad for helping Mercury because things don’t make sense! Mercury gets tools that it doesn’t know how to use, and those tools aren’t necessarily bad, but just not useful in the situation Mercury has with squaring Saturn. Facing accountability from authority figures about transgression of boundaries or limits. We’ll talk more about this as Mercury gets closer to Saturn into next week. The Moon will be moving towards a square with Saturn as the new week comes, so this can be a sign to slow down, stop, and rest. Listen to your body and don’t ignore the signs. Getting accustomed to breaking out of survival mode and giving yourself permission to have faith and trust is what Sunday is about. Surrender to your emotions and your pain, and feel it. Talk about it, even if it doesn’t make sense. Express it through art and find a medium to communicate and connect it to others.
