Week Ahead Overview
Welcome everyone to the 2nd Week of 2022? How are we feeling? We’re processing the Venus Cazimi from Saturday Jan 8th, where Venus meets up with the Sun, bringing the themes of the Venus Retrograde to the forefront of our conscious, and moving into a different turn in the 2nd week of 2022. January has always been an interesting month in my eyes for this year, because we have both Venus and Mercury Retrograde. On Friday, Mercury will station Retrograde, and this characterizes the next half of the month. Especially since within the next half of the month, the Nodes will be changing signs, only happening every 18 months, and it’s almost like this Mercury Retrograde is setting up the lay of the land for what change the Nodes will bring when they enter Taurus and Scorpio. In 2022, the pattern amongst all the Mercury Retrogrades is that they will station Retrograde in the Air Signs, and then station Direct in the Earth signs. There is a Retrograde across this axis from Air to Earth. This first Retrograde will be from 10º Aquarius to 24º Capricorn on Jan 14th to Feb 3rd. In this edition, we’re going to explore the buildup to this Retrograde so let’s get into it!
Monday Jan 10th
(2:23 AM ET) Moon in Aries square Pluto at 26º14’ Capricorn
(9:46 AM ET) INGRESS: Moon enters Taurus
(2:47 PM ET) Moon in Taurus sextile Jupiter at 02º32’ Pisces
(10:27 PM ET) Sun in Capricorn sextile Neptune at 20º52’ Pisces
Monday is an interesting day, because this will be the final week we will have the Moon in Taurus without the North Node in Taurus. The Moon makes a sextile to Jupiter, which is actually a really beautiful aspect. It looks like receiving help and support from a friend. Even though the day might start off feeling more frustrating, things chill out once the Moon gets to Jupiter. It’s a great time to offer support and offer help. It’s also a great time to just have fun, indulge, and allow yourself to have fun. I love Taurus and Pisces as zodiac signs because their benefic energy makes the vibes very indulgent, sensational, and actives your senses. Like a massage. They like to relax and ease things up. Take time to do that for yourself on Monday. Listen to yourself for what you need. Where do you feel those needs in the body? How can you tend to and take care of those needs? Don’t deny yourself nourishment, especially with the Sun sextiling Neptune, allow yourself to break past the limits of what you can imagine. Think outside the box and don’t be afraid to dream.
Tuesday Jan 11th
(4:37 AM ET) Moon in Taurus square Mercury at 09º28’ Aquarius
(7:21 AM ET) Moon conjoins Uranus at 10º50’ Taurus
(11:53 AM ET) Moon in Taurus square Saturn at 13º05’ Aquarius
(4:43 PM ET) Mars in Sagittarius square Neptune at 20º53’ Pisces
(7:33 PM ET) Moon in Taurus trine Venus Retrograde at 16º54’ Capricorn
After having an inspirational but eye-opening Monday, we move into Tuesday with the Moon squaring Mercury. It’s interesting because the Moon and Mercury moving over these degrees is a review of a lot of the Saturn/Uranus square action through news, communication, and networks with the Moon and Mercury about the instability and disruption of infrastructure with Saturn and Uranus. Some people may be receiving important news with the Moon square Mercury. We take a moment, as Mercury is getting very slow, to pause and look at what structural changes we need to make in the Aquarius house of our chart through the Taurus house. The Moon makes a square to Saturn, which is an omen to start planing and building. If you want to build a network or bridge, you need to apply effort. Saturn says this is a day to apply effort to making your dreams a reality. Mars squares Neptune today too, which makes this a day where we may feel confused as to what we should do, what direction to move in, what is the truth, and the purpose especially behind the work we do. Act with intention and purpose. Conflict of truth through exposing deception. If you have a gut feeling, trust it. At the end of the day the Moon in Taurus makes a trine to its ruler, Venus who is currently Retrograde in Capricorn, which gives us an opportunity to bring some sort of harmony or balance to the day, after it being stressful with the Moon applying to Saturn. Venus comes to sweeten things out. While we may find instability in our lives, we also need to know when to rest and take a break.
Wednesday Jan 12th
(3:38 AM ET) Moon in Taurus sextile Neptune at 20º53’ Pisces
(6:19 AM ET) Moon in Taurus trine the Sun at 22º13’ Capricorn
(2:38 PM ET) Moon in Taurus trine Pluto at 26º19’ Capricorn
VOID MOON: 6:19 AM ET to 10:08 PM ET
(10:08 PM ET) INGRESS: Moon enters Gemini
As we move into Wednesday, the Moon moves through the tail end of Taurus, and makes a trine to the Sun and Pluto, which is interesting because these two planets conjoin at the end of the week. The Moon trine the Sun is great for ambition, patience, slow and steady work. The Sun Pluto Cazimi brings Pluto to the forefront of our consciousness, and we’re focused on hidden desires, suppressed emotions, and through the Moon, we have an opportunity to see what happens when we do suppress our desires and sweep things under the rug, and what effect that has. Pluto shows us what we don’t want to see about ourselves. What we are unwilling to accept as the truth. It’s not always easy to confront your subconscious or unconscious, but through Pluto we find ourselves having an outlet to deal with internal issues of security and comfort and making choices to do better. At the end of the day, the Moon enters Gemini.
Thursday Jan 13th
(4:24 AM ET) Moon in Gemini square Jupiter at 3º04’ Pisces
(7:09 PM ET) Moon in Gemini trine Mercury at 10º18’ Aquarius
As we move into Thursday, does anything makes sense? What is real? What is not real? Anything can happen. Anything is nothing and everything. The Moon is in Gemini and squares Jupiter in Pisces where maybe nothing is supposed to make sense and you’re just supposed to vibe. It’s a day to communicate about the craziness of your imagination, talk about your dreams, brainstorm, workshop, get what’s in your head onto paper. The Moon also makes a beautiful trine to Mercury in Aquarius, who’s about to station Retrograde tomorrow. Channel your inner genius. Think outside the box and see how you can do things differently. We get an opportunity of support to be able to do that on Thursday. Today is also the day that Venus emerges from the Sun’s Beams as a Morning Star and will be visible just before Sunrise. We find ourselves eager to take action, and but make sure you consider all the possible options and variable factors when making plans. Anything could happen!
Friday Jan 14th
(1:25 AM ET) Moon in Gemini trine Saturn at 13º23’ Aquarius
(6:41 AM ET) STATION: Mercury stations Retrograde at 10º20’ Aquarius
(4:50 PM ET) Moon in Gemini square Neptune at 20º57’ Pisces
(9:21 PM ET) Moon in Gemini opposes Mars at 23º10’ Sagittarius
VOID MOON: 9:21 PM ET to 11:10 AM ET tomorrow.
As we head into Friday, the Moon makes a trine to Saturn, allowing us to give our thoughts and ideas structure and form, after having them wander all over the place. Then Mercury stations Retrograde, which can cause some frustration due to some reversal or cancellation of plans. The Moon opposing Mars brings in a conflict of truth and information, what is right and what is wrong, and there is the potential to get angry or upset. If you find yourself feeling inflamed, do what you can to cool yourself and your body down. Ice packs. With Mercury Retrograding from the Air to the Earth signs this year, the theme is about how to take something in the air and bring it down to Earth. How do we take our thoughts and ideas and make them a reality? How do we give our ideas form and structure? Aquarius is the Diurnal home of Saturn, Fixed, in an Air Sign. One of the challenges of Saturn in Aquarius can be about rigidity in one’s thoughts or blockages with connection to others. With Mercury stationing Retrograde, we get an opportunity to absorb new information and get practice with the changes we need to make in the Aquarius part of our chart. Saturn applies strategy and planning in Aquarius. Mental inertia and blockages may come up at topics between now and Jan 26th when Mercury leaves Aquarius. You’ll have to leave your comfort zone if you want to find solutions to get past blockages and barriers. Mercury is Retrograding through the Decan of Aquarius (0º-10º) ruled by Venus and Saturn, which deals with the rejection or certain values in pursuit of something different and something new. If we want to establish different kinds of order and structure to our lives, we need to be willing to experiment. It doesn’t need to be right on the first try, but gaining the experience from trial and error is important.
Saturday Jan 15th
(11:10 AM ET) INGRESS: Moon enters Cancer
(6:30 PM ET) Moon in Cancer trine Jupiter at 03º27’ Pisces
As we enter into Saturday, the Moon enters Cancer and makes a beautiful trine to Jupiter. After feeling mentally flustered and overwhelmed from the Moon in Gemini, we find an opportunity to listen to ourselves and listen to the world around us. How we react, how we tense up or loosen up in our body. The Moon is the physical aspect of our being, and with a trine to Jupiter, we become more aware of how the capacity of what we can handle emotionally. What do you need to loosen up and release in your life? Emotionally? This is a beautiful time to ask for support, for help, and for acceptance from others. This carries a lot of nostalgia with it, and on top of a Mercury and Venus Retrograde, we’re now changing our minds and our hearts. How can you make room and space for your needs, and fulfill your nourishment? How do you like to be cared for? What makes you feel satisfied and happy? What obstacles are in the way that prevents you from obtaining that? Mercury Retrograde allows us to clear those obstacles by letting go of old or stale beliefs that stand as a foundation in which you establish and form relationships with others. If you want different, you have to change and be different. Aquarius shows us that it is inherent to always be in a constant state of change. This is the best expression of the Sun’s Detriment in Aquarius. The self is always in a constant state of motion, throughout time.
Sunday Jan 16th
(8:58 AM ET) Moon in Cancer sextile Uranus at 10º49’ Taurus
(9:50 AM ET) SYNODIC CYCLE: Pluto Cazimi at 26º26’ Capricorn
(3:50 PM ET) Moon in Cancer opposes Venus at 14º15’ Capricorn
On Sunday, the Sun conjoins Pluto and is brought into the Heart of the Sun. When a planet is exactly conjoined to the Sun, it represents something being brought to the forefront of our consciousness. This planet is also starting a new synodic cycle. With Pluto, I think about the idea of metamorphoses and change. What are the experiences of power and control in our lives? Pluto takes you in DEEP into the underworld and makes you see shit that you don’t wanna see. The Moon opposing Venus in Capricorn brings nostalgia and wounds from the past. Releasing yourself from dynamics of power and control and delving into the ways in which power and control have shaped your identity and experiences comes up for the day. Even though the Moon opposing Venus brings up nostalgia and the past, we have the opportunity to heal through what we went through back in 2017-2020 with Saturn moving through Capricorn. The understanding of attachment through the past will inform who we can become in the future.
